Happy birthday, paddle!

steppie - have to be careful now (she could be a MNer) but she used to write for Sunday Times then became an editor of a big fasion magazine then started writing for herself (non-fiction). Have you guessed, yet?

stepfordwife · 02/06/2008 16:51

@ (jimmy) choo choo

yum!
ever since ds1's first birthday nearly nine years ago, have bought colin the chocolate caterpillar from M&S for all dc's birthdays..
think they like it too...

bollocks, those peppers aren't going to stuff themselves, are they?

ComeOVeneer · 02/06/2008 16:53

Hi all. DD is another one of these fussy shoe girls. Here problem is they are too tight (every time we buy new shoes she says they are uncomfortable - I think it is due to the fact they are a lot firmer when brand new and soften with wear). TBH I now just push ahead and say if they are still uncomfortable in 2 weeks we will buy a new pair. Within 10 minutes she has forgatten all about it!

Have been very good with food today but have made cassoulet at dh'd request so bang goes the chance of loosing any weight today.

Crt decided to play up at nursery pick up (remote locking wouldn't work so couldn't unlock the car - fortunately nobody was in the car, but it has made me think twice about locking the children in the car at the petrol station etc). AA came out and disconnected battery then it seemed fine (aparrently not an unusual occurrence)

ComeOVeneer · 02/06/2008 16:53

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PADDLE

mellow2 · 02/06/2008 17:08

Happy birthday, paddle! Hope you are doing something nice for your birthday today.

and happy birthday to mini-sfx

SJ99 · 02/06/2008 17:13

Happy Birthday Paddle - enjoy the cakes tonight!!!

Well done Mellow - you must feel so liberated now

Ds has sandals and wellies for the summer, that will have to do him.

I bought some maternity jeans off ebay which arrived today but they were crap as elastic was ripped so I complained and the seller has immediately refunded the money, yay. This was right after call to Virgin media too. Must be the day for complaints

mellow2 · 02/06/2008 17:19

SJ,
Would you like to have a look at my stash of maternity clothes? They're in a pre-pregnancy size 8 and 10. I have a pair of maternity jeans that are quite nice but only has elastic sides but not an elastic band.

I could bring them round with the samples.

Steppie,
I have an eye cream and a dry/mature night cream to sample. Would you like to try them? They're from Kimberly Sayer. I've tried her day cream for combination skin and it's really nice. Hmmmmmm.

mellow2 · 02/06/2008 17:19

In my car.

rosmerta · 02/06/2008 17:35

hi all, mellow congratulations on passing your test! Although I don't drive even every week its nice to know I can!

Paddle, happy birthday!

MrsR, glad dcs are feeling better.

Been to a tutorial today and come home to a poorly ds. Just a bit of a temperature & ver quiet. We've cuddled up and are watching Monsters Inc, he's had some tea and seems to be better, if jumping on the sofa is a measure of wellness!

mellow2 · 02/06/2008 18:19

Thanks ros.

SJ99 · 02/06/2008 18:51

Thanks Mellow that would be great I need some jeans as mine from last time are bust. Before you laugh it wasn't that I was so big that they burst, I got them out of storage last wk and accidentally pulled out the cord and now cannot thread it back through the elasticated waist

Ros - hope DS makes a quick recovery & that's nothing serious. How was turtorial?

ComeOVeneer · 02/06/2008 19:01

SJ have you tried putting the cord on a safety pin and pushing that through the space for the cord?

I have alovely wrap around black top from Jojomaman that I wore through both pregnancies and still wear it - it is a wrap around so can be made as big/small as necessary

sfxmum · 02/06/2008 20:36

hello all quick catch up before I collapse.

mellow congrats on test

steppie
love all the talk about shoes too

paddle hoe your day improved and you manage a semblance of a nice birthday, at least have a drink and cake

ros - hope your ds feels better and that your tutorial went well

after 3 days of dd's 3rd birthday celebrations (how fitting) we are worn out, after a late breakfast with the grandparents we went to the Natural history museum, then had a packed, awful broken train for 2 stops, got out to avoid a meltdown, had dinner, which for dd consisted mostly of chocolate ice creamback on a train home, dd now just had her bath and I hope she is asleep soon

fitfox · 02/06/2008 21:08

Paddle - Tesco "more crocs for your money"

happy Birthday!!!

Congrats Mellow

Paddlechick666 · 02/06/2008 21:13

yeh and guess what? she won't wear 'em! put 'em in the Asda bag and said "just take them back Mummy they don't fit"!!!!

actually one does but the other is just a teeny bit too big.

ta for birthday wishes. the smarties cake went down well but tbh dd was exhausted and on the brink of meltdown the whole time before she went to bed.

ho hum, nearly done for another year......

sfxmum · 02/06/2008 21:22

I hope I can have a nice quiet day tomorrow

my running shoes need replacing asap

dd asleep need plenty of nonsense telly and a magazine

mellow2 · 03/06/2008 07:11

Thanks sfx and foxie.

mellow2 · 03/06/2008 07:17

SJ,
Would you like to meet up this week? I could make any day of the rest of the week.

MrsRecycle · 03/06/2008 09:03

BELATED HAPPY BIRTHDAY PADDLE - I missed it Hope you had a lovely day and the cake was nice. Thanks for your comments re dd2 - she does try your patience though. Actually she was very very similar to your dd at her age so that could be a good omen.

Must dash - I need to change smelly ds' nappy.

Kewcumber · 03/06/2008 09:42

Sorry Paddle was too dstracted to wish you happy birthday yesterday and had velcro child.

stepfordwife · 03/06/2008 09:47

yes, sod's law, kew..the first law of parenting, eh?
poor thing - has he been sick again? hope he feels better soon.

dd dreamt about him last night! she was laughing and saying;'and he had no night nappy on!" (she calls all nappies night nappies, btw). so sweet when they laugh in their sleep.

Paddlechick666 · 03/06/2008 09:48

MrsRecycle · 03/06/2008 10:58
