I may or may not be able to make tomorrow. DS had a nasty fall last night of the top of our (only 3 step high) slide in the garden whilst I was making dinner (although even if I was there I couldn't have stopped it) unfortunately he fell backwards hitting his back on a low brick wall, then bounced forwards (according to dd) and smacked face on said slifde. Massive nosebleed and nasty bruise on back. I called nhs direct and they didn't seem too concerned, but this morning he really isn't himself and complains it hurts when I lift him up so have an appt at 11am to check him over. Also he is very clingy and doesn't want to go to nursery today, so I may find it hard to extract myself. We'll see.

Hope everyone is well and enjoying the warm spell.

Paddle hope you are having a good time, and DD is not running you ragged

SFX: john lewis at kingston is usually good. but can alos try wh smilth as I think they sell ribbon as gift wrap.

this thread mnoves too quick.

we are really enjoying this weather though and days are totally filled up with school, school trips and after school sports. I coud really do with some 'me' time, but not a chance for a while.

Has anyone tried out that new Thai massage place, beside the Pottery Cafe in Twickenham? Does anyone know if 5 mths pgnt woman can have foot massage? seems like a heavenly idea, and they have 30% off offers for teh opening, so I wd be tempted (and live on beans fopr the next week)

sfxmum · 25/06/2008 10:03

thanks xoxo not sure if I will have the chance to get to Kingston this weekend

I don't know about Thai massage but Clarins do a special massage for pregnancy it is heavenly, if you don't mind people touching your bump.

COV sorry about ds I expect these things mostly sound worst than they are

xoxo · 25/06/2008 10:08

SFX i could afford clarins in my dreams!
COV ds had a nasty fall onto his head when he was about 3. spent the next morning throwing up and dizzy. the hospital looked him over, and said he'd be fine in a day. and he was.
it's really scarey but does seem to sort itself out really quickly. kids are fairly indestructable

fitfox · 25/06/2008 10:15

OK where is the Hare and Tortoise then?????

Oxo - would ring and ask them abot the PG massage? Ooooh I lurve foot massages!!!!

sfxmum · 25/06/2008 10:19

xoxo yes it was back when I had money

foxie its Haven Green top of the road station side

slng · 25/06/2008 11:13

Definitely hare and tortoise then? It's more Wagamama than the Dorchester, but not sure if need to book. I think I've been there about once in the evening, but we go for lunch quite often. There are a few more restaurants on that rank of shops anyway. I hope I can come too - will know tomorrow.

Have some extremely dull work to get through at the moment ...

MrsRecycle · 25/06/2008 11:27

very quick post - so stressed out at work. COV sorry to hear about ds - sounds like an awful fall. pc - glad you got there, hope dd finally went to sleep last night. oxo - I have a foot massager but couldn't use it in pg, shame as the only time I could of made good use of it. sfx - I might have some ribbon - what colour?

slng - Haven Green - billiant even closer for me to go to. So plan is for me to pick dd1 up from her at 8.10pm, drop her home and get to Hare & Tortoise around 8.30pm, if that's okay. Looking forward to it.

Must dash....

Well back from doctors. DS is playing on the laptop, feeling very sorry for himself. DOc did a thorough check over, eyes, ears, nose, chest, stomach etc etc. Think he is ok, advised plenty of pain releif and to watch for usual signs of head injury and also for blood in urine/poo for signs of internal bleeding!!! (But she reasured me unlikely). So will see how we go tonight/tomorrow as to wether I shall join you for dinner. Am supposed to be out tonight with mums from dd's class and dh stay at home but not sure about that either.

sfxmum · 25/06/2008 11:58

chances are he will be fine COV still terribly worrying for mum

mrsR was thinking turquoise or some other strong bright blue

so the only ones to confirm for tomorrow are mrsR foxie mellow and me?

ros SJ and COV mb?

MrsRecycle · 25/06/2008 12:11

oh I did have a spool of light blue - will check when I get home and bring it tomorrow if so.

anyone want some guinea pigs? singersgirl looking for homes - she's in mortlake.

sfxmum · 25/06/2008 17:40

thanks mrsR

KC no pets rule for as long as I can manage

PortAndLemon · 25/06/2008 17:45

I think singersgirl has found a taker now.

DS would love a dog but I have said a firm "No" on that [bad mother emoticon]

fitfox · 25/06/2008 18:31

Hello P&L how is it going?

PortAndLemon · 25/06/2008 18:34

I am emerging into beginning to Have A Life again. DD is much more easygoing than DS was, though -- if it had been like this first time I think I would have smugly congratulated myself on my excellent parenting skills, but this time round I know it's more down to random quirks of baby personality (sigh).

SJ99 · 25/06/2008 18:54

Hello all

Glad things are looking up P&L, glad you are enjoying life as a mum of 2.

No pets here either I'm afraid. DS would prefer a cat - he keeps asking for one, will put off as long as I can [evil mum]

COV - how is DS? Must've been worrying for you, hope he makes a quick recovery

Xoxo - I think massage is ok as long as you tell them you're pg, they can just use oils/potions that won't affect the pregnancy. Let us know if it's any good, might be tempted myself!

Sfx - sadly can't come out as DH away all week

Might try and take DS swimming tom seeing as we didn't quite make it today & swim bag is still packed

sfxmum · 25/06/2008 19:20

Hi P&L glad to hear the fog is lifting dd was an easy baby which makes me fear for the hypothetical 2nd

SJ if tomorrow I feel like I did today will end up pulling out too, but actually could really do with eve out

SJ99 · 25/06/2008 19:38

DS was a difficult baby so if the next baby takes after him then at least I know the bad times won't last forever

Are you not feeling so good Sfx?

sfxmum · 25/06/2008 19:45

I am fine thanks SJ just completely lethargic today, must be the lack of running, not been since last Thursday and I am feeling it, particularly since over the last month I averaged 3x a week

rosmerta · 25/06/2008 20:51

sfx, you can't pull out tomorrow, I'll probably end up being billy no mates on my own!

Am worried about dc2 now, ds was a ridiculously easy baby! Surely its possible dc2 can be as well [pleading emoticon]

Paddle, hope you're having a good time.

SJ99 · 25/06/2008 21:06

MIL always say that DH's elder bro was a nightmare baby and she thought the next one surely couldn't be as bad but then she had DH who apparently was even worse At least DS is a pretty laid back toddler, although he does have his moments

Sfx - I know what you mean about feeling lethargic when you miss exercise, I feel like that too when I don't/can't go. Better get your new trainers out and head out soon!

rosmerta · 25/06/2008 21:06

sorry sfx, my last post was very selfish . Hope you feel better

SJ99 · 25/06/2008 21:20

Finished making cheese, it's all set. Heading up to read in bed now.
Night night

fitfox · 25/06/2008 21:24

It goodnight from her...and goodnight from me
