slng lovely must try that one soon. I remember my mum baking a flatish bread with sweet potato very nice indeed

mreR what time would suit? I think foxie is working late too, 2cute said she is interested in joining us too

SJ99 · 23/06/2008 18:54

Boo hoo won't be able to join you on night out if you go this week

Went for a lovely walk by river but had a heart stopping moment when DS nearly fell in Did not let go of his thereafter. The flowers in York house gardens smell delicious

Nice to see Mellow & DD today

Sfx - Thomasland does look good. Sorry can't help with plumber, we need one too so let me know if you find a good one

sfxmum · 23/06/2008 18:56

SJ dd seems to have gone completely wild lately no fear girl.

is it just me or the pollen this year is extra strong? normally I barely notice it, this year it is really bothering me

SJ99 · 23/06/2008 19:02

I think it is strong, for first time I seem to be getting a bit of hayfever. Am loving the smell of jasmine in the back garden though!

evening all,

sfx, I'm still up for Thurs evening. Do we think 8pm is ok or is that too late? I haven't been to the Hare & Tortoise place before, in fact I'm seriously out of date on Ealing restaurants! I do know a couple of nice ones on Northfields Ave though!

Sj, know what you mean about having to grab hold, ds is great at dashing off atm!

sfxmum · 23/06/2008 20:11

considering how late dh was coming in today, I would say 8pm is probably a good time.
also I hope wherever it is the service is speedy

fitfox · 23/06/2008 20:38

Hiya

SFX/MrsR/2Cute - yeah 8pm good for me in Ealing on Thurs!!!

Paddle - that is pants - are you off tomorrow then - when are you back - we are in Devon Friday - will you still be there??

Mrs R - PMSL at your DS - what a strong character - he will be be able to teach my DS2 a few tricks in August

Now to report here - off to bid on Ebay [wik]

slng · 24/06/2008 08:24

Morning all!

What very nice weather. Shame I'm sneezing so much ... None of my hayfever things seem to work very well this time round, so maybe pollen is more potent? Effect of global warming, no doubt.

Re Thursday - dh's friend away till Thursday so have to wait till the day to know if I'm free. Boo! I want to go out to play ...

Paddlechick666 · 24/06/2008 08:35

Well we're off this morning. God alone knows how we will get on or how far we will get.

Am quite petrified really.

Drove the van home yesterday and had a baptism of fire around the M25.

Wish us luck and it's been great knowing you all if we don't make it back!!!

Kewcumber · 24/06/2008 09:04

Paddle I suspect you will have a great time even if its not quite the break you intended. No reason to be terrified - you have her on your own most of the week its really no different. I bet DD will love the adventure!

Paddlechick666 · 24/06/2008 09:15

It's the journey/van/getting organised that terrifies me!

Gonna hafta have eyes in back of head. Suspect fresh fruit/veg will be off the menu as we scoff fish n chips and festival food. No gas for stove LOL.

If we make it back we'll probably have ricketts!

sfxmum · 24/06/2008 09:27

good morning all

paddle you will be fine and have a great time, a bag of apples is very portable and bananas too, besides what is wrong with deep fried gigantic 'veg spring rolls'?

what to do today? surely something outdoors it is so pretty, must have breakfast and leave I think

hope everyone is well

SJ99 · 24/06/2008 12:59

Hello all

Paddle - you've probably set off but have a fab time. I'm sure you'll feel more confident with van after driving it for a while. I've no doubts DD will love the trip

Have been out this morning, such lovely weather

slng · 24/06/2008 15:43

We are off to our local train station to look at trains of the Paddington-Greenford line!

sfxmum · 24/06/2008 16:15

dd went around C&C asking people if they had seen Beth (?)

  • she is my sister and I lost her - cue assorted people looking for Beth

we had to go to her future nursery this morning and she was really put out that we only stayed in the office

SJ99 · 24/06/2008 19:21

Aww, poor mini-sfx she must've thought was absolute cruelty to be sat in the office with all that fun going on next door

Paddlechick666 · 24/06/2008 20:20

we're here! 6.5+ hour journey. Dd a blardy nightmare but hey ho!
Lovin it now we're here.
Chippy shut so pub dinner. Bummer. Nice chenin blanc tho!

PortAndLemon · 24/06/2008 20:44

Sure it will be fine, Paddle. You can always steal your DD's ear protectors if she kicks off again...

fitfox · 24/06/2008 20:54

Paddle whereabouts are you and when do you return?

We're in Devon on Friday too!!

Paddlechick666 · 24/06/2008 21:40

We're in croyde till thurs then glasto. H still in hospital.
Now, could someone tell her to go to sleep!

mellow2 · 25/06/2008 09:28

Hello all,

I really can't keep up with the thread.

But I would like to join you tomorrow since I missed the last one. . I gather it's 8pm at Hare and Tortoise in Ealing. Did I get that right?

Ros,
If you want a lift, I'm driving.

It'll be nice to meet up with those of you who come.

Paddle,
Have fun.

mellow2 · 25/06/2008 09:28

  • does anyone know where I can get hold of a ribbon which I can use as a sash for dd's dress? thinking I can use a wide one for her waist and thin ones for her hair, very dolly girly I know but hey
sfxmum · 25/06/2008 09:33
