dd's friend's dad obviously

sfxmum · 21/06/2008 18:08

yippee night out Thursday 26th in Ealing

sorry Steppie coffee sometime this week? not the same level of excitement I know.

Paddle do let me know when you fancy popping over, no idea of plans but would love to unload nappies, also could not find shoes for dd today all size 8's gone
did you get the wellies?

foxie that is terribly sad but as we all now all you need to die is being alive, be kind live fully and simply don't hold regrets or anger, it can all be gone pretty quickly
that is enough cod philosophy from me today

as much as I would hate to leave dd at this young age it would be far far worst to loose her

on a cheery subject I got a top and a skirt for practicality and to get more use out of it, also some make up and lots of sisterly girly chat, very nice

fitfox · 21/06/2008 18:14

That's true what you say SFX
Yipee a night out!!!

Where shall we go in Ealing then?

I can give lifts back to Richmond and Kew

Paddlechick666 · 21/06/2008 18:17

evening all, had an absolutely fantastic day out at Bocketts. dd hasn't stopped all day and it prevented me from wallowing in feeling like utter crap!

totally exhausted now, bath and (hopefully) early bed for dd.

sfx, am considering a trip to Kingston tomorrow. apparently Primark have good/cheap/funky wellies.

will drop you a text and see if we can co-ordinate a good time. did you say you had some pull ups? if not don't worry. plan to buy some for the trip to make using the potty easier.

i'll bag up what i have, there might be something that would fit. I have some lovely white espradille type things but they're a 9 so hoping dd will go into them before end of summer. i'll bring them anyway as they might fit your dd and be okay for the wedding.

ran round like a nutter this morning to leave house pristine for viewing and they cancelled again

update on Reunion.com:

1 x best friend of ex
2 x exes (not same ex above)
1 x uncle of my nemesis

have all been in touch so far

sfxmum · 21/06/2008 18:21

that being my main reason for saying Thursday

sfxmum · 21/06/2008 18:28

paddle have normal and pull ups, considering keeping a few pull ups for car journeys otherwise they must all go to a good home

dh is cooking, he also baked a chocolate cake and made playdough with dd, kitchen looks like a bomb site

Kewcumber · 22/06/2008 09:48

Went down to Bluebell railway yesterday - thoroughly recommend one of their family days for train obsessed youngsters. Booking in advance brings the ticket price down dramatically. And free rides and face painting included in ticket.

rosmerta · 22/06/2008 19:56

Kew, where's bluebell railway?

Sfx, glad you enjoyed your girly day!

Ds has had a big day, went swimming again this morning & then to Hyde Park this afternoon. Had lots of fun though.

And happy birthday to me

sfxmum · 22/06/2008 20:14

happy birthday young lady

kew - we really want to got to the Bluebell railway sometime I am quite fond of steam trains myself

fitfox · 22/06/2008 20:18

Hiya

Steppy how was Ds2'sbirthday?

We've had a mega busy weekend

Muti-playdates on Friday here...

Yesterday my friend came over from Beirut and stayed the night (my very best friend ) We went our on the razzle and se stayed over - I Reeeeeelly want to go there now...

Today we had a huge mass, followed by Pimms and nibbles and picnic, followed by DS1's swimming party

... over 2 hours supervising a huge group of 8 yr old boys - lordy!!!

Paddlechick666 · 23/06/2008 07:43

quick update: supposed to be leaving for devon this morning but h has landed up in hospital with an infection and may have to have an operation this morning.

am gutted. i sometimes wonder just when things will stop going wrong

anyway, have decided to travel up to his place today and get the van and head off on my own tomorrow.

completely petrified by the prospect of going solo with dd and plans are in disarray as they were centered on 2 adults caring for 1 child.

will head off tomorrow i expect.

rosmerta · 23/06/2008 08:30

Paddle, I feel for you but I'm sure everything will start to get better soon. Hope h will be ok & that you still have a good week.

What's everyone up to today? Thinking of going to Kew this morning, making the most of the nice weather.

sfxmum · 23/06/2008 09:49

good morning all

paddle I think you are doing the right thing, despite the concerns, hope it all goes well.

ros we might go over at some point but probably not before this afternoon, I have a lot to sort out this morning, lovely weather

and of the things to sort out does anyone know of a reliable Corgi registered plumber? TIA

Kewcumber · 23/06/2008 09:50

Oh Paddle thats disappointing. I hope you have a good time anyway.

sfxmum · 23/06/2008 12:26

I am really furious with Tesco and their late deliveries I want to be out in the sunshine so so annoying

  • end of rant, must check time limit for refund
MrsRecycle · 23/06/2008 12:31

oh no pc - sorry to hear about h, hope it isn't too serious. Hope you enjoy it inspite of everything - am sure you will. Shame about the viewing as well.

Happy birthday for yesterday Ros - hope you had a lovely time.

Happy birthday Steppie's ds2 and Foxie's ds1 as well. Hope they enjoyed their parties.

sfx - what time did you have in mind for Thurs? Will have to pick up dd1 after 8pm so could possibly head on down after that.

KC - bluebell is down in Sussex - a place we are considering moving to. There is also another steam railway close to the caravan park www.kesr.org.uk.

HC was lovely although we saw the 2 dd's who lost their mum and they were shy little things - completely the opposite of their Mum. So quite sad to see that a mother's influence really does have an impact on children. ds was a right bully, nicked my df's ds' Capri-sun, chucked it in the pond and laughed when he cried. He also pushed over another boy (6 yrs) who is known as a bully (everyone cheered).

rosmerta · 23/06/2008 12:57

Well, so much for Kew. We ended up at Lollipop instead. I really should know better than to give a 2yr old a choice!

MrsR, not sure if I'm supposed to but am laughing at ds's antics!

Sfx, how annoying, hope they turn up soon.

Not sure what we'll do this afternoon, I might see if I can persuade ds to the park. We'll probably end up in the garden though.

SJ99 · 23/06/2008 13:34

Oh no Paddle - hope you still manage to have a good trip and H's infection is not too serious, such bad luck.

Happy Birthday Ros!

Bluebell does look good. Have booked Thomas Day out, will keep it a secret from DS so that he has a nice surprise when we turn up and he sees the trains

Have been in park and garden so far, such a nice day. Might go for a walk by the river later

MrsRecycle · 23/06/2008 13:55

I laughed as well Ros but had to compose myself to get him to say sorry to the boys. He reminds me so much of dd2 - she used to go after the big boys with sticks - they were petrified of her.

sj - when is the Thomas Day out? ds would love that. Am busy planning my SAHM days - oh by the way I bumped into another df on Saturday and she is due the same time as you and Ros. A mini babyboom indeed.

Anyone want to celebrate with me - have just been made an offer for my whiplash injuries which is a quite acceptable and enables me to have a bit more time off. Yipeee, days out at Kew/Lolipop here I come.

OP posts:
SJ99 · 23/06/2008 14:28

MrsR yes it was a funny story although shouldn't laugh.

Thomas trip is run by various train co's, I just looked on TTE website and found one with most convenient date/location, I think it is with Buckinghamshire Railways.

Congrats on receiving compensation. When will you have time off?

MrsRecycle · 23/06/2008 14:40

there is a TTE website - don't tell ds that - he already has a seat in my office, now he'll want his own pc. Off to check it out...

Will finish at end of July - aim to have some "me" time (LOs are at ILs) the first couple of weeks then off to the van for the remainder of the hols.

Hello!

sfx - I baked the potato and olive oil bread. It's really really nice!

Would still like to go out on Thursday - but turns out dh is meeting a friend so waiting to hear if he can reschedule. Hopefully!

Place I mentioned was hare and tortoise - nice lunch place but never been there in the evening. Cheap though, and food reasonably nice. Plenty of other places though. See www.ealingtoday.co.uk/default.asp?section=leisure&page=eatingout.htm
