Hello all!

Have been in denial all week about being back but having cleaned up poo all over the bedroom I think there's no more denying ...

DS2 sits on potty in the evenings and wees and poos in it pretty much without incidence but today I didn't realise he's done one and it got smeared all over ... Sorry TMI... Hope it doesn't put anyone off pizza...

Anyway. Time to start on that bottle of pink wine in the fridge and ignore the washing-up.

When are we having a night out?

ComeOVeneer · 20/06/2008 20:41

Good question slng. No pizza here. DH home for dinner (first time since Tuesday and shan't be here tomorrow or Sunday) so made veal escalopes with fresh tagliatelle in a cream and garlic mushroom sauce with steamed asparagus and buttered baby carrots.

I have to be up early tomorrow to make a cake for my fathers' birthday, whilst entertaining the children (dh has a birthday party in the afternoon and a stag do in the evening, staying at his parents then coming home in the afternoon Sunday), then getting myself and children down to parents for the birthday celebration on Sunday.

I have told dh the next free weekend the children are all his

sfxmum · 20/06/2008 21:10

as for nights out we should just say who is coming out on Xdate and get on with it even if just 2 show up, by all accounts mrsR & slng had a nice time and same when just 3 of us

frequent and cheap is what I say

ComeOVeneer · 20/06/2008 21:14

OK name the day then sfx

sfxmum · 20/06/2008 21:33

i will probably/ likely be free next Friday night but not the following Friday so anyone who fancies it can come along

(this is to block out that paddle will be at glasto )

ComeOVeneer · 20/06/2008 21:36

Think I am free next Friday. Where/what did you have in mind?

sfxmum · 20/06/2008 21:48

going out for dinner and a drink I am easy as long as it is cheapish

slng · 20/06/2008 22:10

Friday 27th? I'm probably free too. Where though? Hare and Tortoise in Ealing Broadway cheap and cheerful! I vote for Ealing but would settle for Kew/Richmond.

sfxmum · 20/06/2008 22:13

am fine with Ealing, as long as there is an easy route home I am happy.cab not too expensive from there.

fitfox · 20/06/2008 22:42

Yeah why don't we do Ealing ?

Ealing is great for me on a Tues or Thurs as I work late there! I can give lifts back to Richmond if we meet there!

2cute we must meet soon!

Paddle - deffo get the portie-potty. You don't want to be dreaming about fishing DD out covered in poo LOL!!

Am very of you Glasto Grrls!

SFX am in Devon next Friday so will have to turn down your Kindly invitation

'Twas my DS1's birthday today

Got him a nice pressie (Asus Eeee 4g!) and he got a test tube alien from his bestest friend -takes a lot of looking after (like having a fecking newborn!!!)

fitfox · 20/06/2008 22:45

fitfox · 20/06/2008 22:45

sfxmum · 20/06/2008 22:49

I think dd wants one of those shiny things too

ps not kindly invitation rather extreme need for distraction please

fitfox · 20/06/2008 22:49

Feel very ` - one of DD's friend - 4 yrs old - her Dad died last night of a brain tumour.

Her Mum is only 32 with 3 small children aged 4 and two - far too young to be widowed

fitfox · 20/06/2008 22:52

SFX Very intrigued about your need for distraction - ys would love to meet on Thursday afer work - that would be great

fitfox · 20/06/2008 23:20

Lonely [hic]

stepfordwife · 21/06/2008 08:48

foxie, very about your friend's husband.
hope ds1 has a lovely swimming party tomorrow
and sober up woman!

ds2's birthday tomorrow - i can't believe he's 7!! taking a group of 6 classmates bowling and pizza today. the spirit is willing, but the flesh wants to go back to bed

sfx, would love to come out next week but dh in india all week (selfish) so no can do (do it the thurs after, do it the thurs after, do it the thurs after, do it the thurs after...subliminal msging)
oh go on, do it without me then, enjoy!

paddle, hope you're feeling better for glasto.
have a fab weekend, everyone

stepfordwife · 21/06/2008 08:54

and same here on lumpy blocked milk duct front..
when i went to see consultant, he said;'mid-40s? breast-fed several children?"
(what he meant to say of course was what a fine figure of a woman i was )

hope you get your appointment through quickly now, sfx. good sign you got letter swiftly.

Paddlechick666 · 21/06/2008 08:55

morning all

feeling totally grotty. won't go into TMI but tummy very unsettled due to effects of diseased tonsil [bleurgh]

due to go to Bocketts farm today too and have viewing on house so no time to wallow.

foxie, dreadfully sad news about dd's friend. i seem to hear more and more about parents dying young. i am now only 6yrs off my own father's age when he died which is a very sobering thought.

i can do most weds for nights out with dm here to babysit [hopeful]

right, have to leave in 30mins and dd in pjs and picnic not made.

oh and why does it always bloody rain when i go there?

happy birthday to foxie's ds and steppie's ds. i am in denial of dd ever being 7!

Paddlechick666 · 21/06/2008 08:59

ps: got the travel potti at Boots but don't think it has a handy bag like yours sfx.

btw, might pop around tomorrow with some bits n bobs for dd if you're about? i'll text you.

was lying in bed at 3am thinking i have about 3 pairs of "occasional" shoes in a size 8. they're hand me downs from my bf and dd really only wore them for dressing up as they're a bit pink and fluffy.

also really think those bermudas and fat face trews would fit mini-sfx.

feel free to decline tho if you're not keen

SJ99 · 21/06/2008 10:09

Morning all

Have been for lovely swim, was bliss!

Would love to come out too but unlikley to be able to weeknight as I think DH away all next week. Could possibly do Fri night... I suggest you go ahead and arrange Sfx and if I can make it I'll join you

Paddle - hope you feel better in time for your trip. Enjoy the farm

Sfx - have fun on your girly day out

Foxie - really news about your DD's friend's dad

Am going lukewarm about our house purchase based on vendor's feedback over past 2 days
We have a viewing round here soon (cue better tidy up). Then might brave Ikea later on, DS seems really keen to have his own bed, might as well get one then

slng · 21/06/2008 10:26

Good morning all!

Curry on the brew now for lunch for 5 grown-ups + 2 children...

So Thursday 26th for Ealing mini-nightout?

ComeOVeneer · 21/06/2008 11:05

I am free Thursday 26th. However I am out on the Wednesday, and the Friday and the Sat (not sure if I have the stamina, or a willing husband - mind you he has had his fair share of child free evenings/nights recently including going to a patry this afternoon, a stag do tonight, staying at his parents and having a child free Sunday whilst I take the children to my parents, so I think I have quite good fuel for my arguement ).

MrsRecycle · 21/06/2008 13:30

2nd sfx and impromtu nights out - had one last Thurs and it was brilliant although I was slightly hungover. I might be able to do Ealing next Thurs but will be a bit later as dd1 has her play at school. But Tues/Weds might be better for me, if I get a pass out from dh.

foxie sorry to hear about dd's df's dad - how terrible for them all. My df' died of a brain tumour leaving 2 dd's the same age - the dad gave up work and is now raising them.

We're off to a Holy Communion but I think ds has just fallen asleep in the high chair. So I better wake him and get him cleaned/dressed. Have a lovely weekend everyone...
