Hello all

Nice to catch up with you earlier Ros & Bunyan. DS had a fun time.

2Cute - I'm 18wks pg, I'm sure others will fill you in on their news. Sounds like you'll have an exciting birthday if DS has anything to do with it!

Just when we get close to exchange again solicitor has raised loads more queries, which is good on one hand but now we're at mercy of vendor's solictors being able to satisfy queries in a timely fashion, great

fitfox · 19/06/2008 18:52

Hi 2cute!!! [waves]

Its so lovely to hear from you and you are doing realy well - I hope we can see you soon both for a grown up night out and with your cute DS at some point. Do you fancy coming over one Saturday for a cuppa? Will txt you

SFX - You poor thing, try not to worry. The vast majority of lumps are nothing. I had one a couple of years ago and it turned out to be congealed lumps of milk from when I had BF DD over 18 months. The consultant said "did you do extended BFing about 1-2 years ago?" He said its common to have residue - so hopefully your lump may be something like that. [Big hugs] and its good they are seeing you so quickly

SJ99 · 19/06/2008 19:43

Ok, toilet camping facilities sorted, just ordered my shewee

sfxmum · 19/06/2008 19:59

funny you should mention that SJ saw one sometime this week in a shop, dh would laugh at me but he has a man with little understanding of such things, if all else fails there is dd's travel potty

foxie -thanks, GP thinks it is something like that but in my mind all things are possible and I need to contemplate all scenarios

Paddlechick666 · 19/06/2008 20:16

oooh, talk to me about travel potties. i think i should take something like that with us next week.

what are they? how do they work? how much are they?

@ shewee, maybe i should get one too?

lol

anyone got any tips on where to get some funky but cheap wellies from by monday?

was thinking a trip to hounslow to check out woolies and/or asda.........

SJ99 · 19/06/2008 20:18

Haven't told DH about my purchase yet (as he's away) but if he laughs then I shall tell him that it's endorsed by his beloved Ray Mears

Thanks for the letter, DS smiled when I finished reading it to him

SJ99 · 19/06/2008 20:21

Shewee's are brill at festivals, I've used them before. No queuing or smelly portaloos. You can also buy a bag to wee in and it instantly turns into gel and you can chuck it away later - technology eh?

Hadn't thought about using a potty, LOL

Paddlechick666 · 19/06/2008 20:53

erm SJ, the potty is for dd actually!

perhaps i can buy a shewee at Glasto? bit late to buy one now i think..........

oh and sfx, dd was absolutely delighted with her letter too. thank you!

sfxmum · 19/06/2008 21:23

paddle travel potty Boots do them too.

same principle SJ was talking about the liner thing turns to get so no spills dd loves hers and gives us the freedom to go wherever and not worry about proximity of loos.

SJ not sure you are getting into the spirit of the thing, stinky toilets are part of the experience no portaloos there or hardly any it is the dump to communal pit

Paddlechick666 · 19/06/2008 21:36

would now be a good time to share the irrational and paranoid thought i had on the bus home this evening wrt drop bogs?

had a vision of dd wanting the loo so H taking her into the drop bogs and her actually falling down the hole into the pit!

the vision then continued with me jumping into the pit to pull her out!

dear gods! what sort of brain do i have?

scuttles off to check out travel potty!

sfxmum · 19/06/2008 21:41

paddle as far as I recall they had specific child cubicles on each 'stand' iyswim I did not check them out because dd was in nappies last year, I though it was all very clean relatively speaking as long as you don't look down.

that festival is not really the sort of place for teens falling about drunk and puking etc.

mrsR your strepB expertise might be useful here

SJ99 · 19/06/2008 21:53

Paddle - grim thoughts indeed re:bogs
Sure you can buy one at fest, I just had to get one beforehand due to frequency of me going to the loo atm, bound to come in handy

Paddlechick666 · 19/06/2008 22:06

sfx, am sure Latitude will be very civilised. it's glasto drop bogs that are haunting me at present LOL.

been there, done that and believe me, dd is going nowhere near!

sfxmum · 19/06/2008 22:14

I keep blocking out that Glasto is happening and I will not be there, read some reviews of LC gigs in Dublin and Manchester

Paddlechick666 · 20/06/2008 06:53

i buggery damn and pooo, i've got tonsilitis again.

not as bad as last time but even so.

anyone got a good home remedey in case i can't get to see the dr today?

Paddlechick666 · 20/06/2008 08:48

gp is leaving a 'scrip at the surgery for me so hopefully will be on the mend quickly.

certainly not as bad as it was last time.

she said i was too old to get tonsilitis!

sfxmum · 20/06/2008 09:14

oh sorry paddle that sounds awful the only thing I do for sore throats is gargle with warm water and dispersible aspirin it works as a local anaesthetic

I think we might go to lollipop today around 11-12

hope everyone is well

SushiMummy · 20/06/2008 11:33

Morning all.

Paddle - hope you get better soon. Throat is my weak point, too. I often start cold/flu with sore throat. Much sympathies.

sfx/2cute - thanks for the MMR booster advice. HV said the recent bouts of measels are caused by the lack of MMR intakes and they are strongly advising parents to have their children MMR boosted at earlier years (used to be 4/5 years?). ANYWAY, my DS had MMR at 13m which I think protects him catching measels at least till 3 so no MMR booster for DS for now.

2cute - your DS sounds like a lovely, caring boy. You must be so proud of him.

Has anyone been to the tree-top thingy at Kew Gardens? We might try it tomorrow.

sfxmum · 20/06/2008 17:10

hi all

lovely to see 2cute and paddle today plus untamed kids
they should sleep well tonight after all the exploits.

sushi we went up and was quite fun but you can see through to the ground below and it sways in the wind and as people walk along all perfectly safe but not for everybody, it is also very busy at weekends

regarding myself got the hospital letter today for an appointment, well impressed with the speed so fingers crossed I get a suitable date soon and find out what is going on

Paddlechick666 · 20/06/2008 17:37

yes was great to see you guys this arvo too.

unfortunatley dd crashed in the car for the 45min journey home. no doubt an early night for her now out of the questions.

shame as i could really do with her being tucked up asap!

SJ99 · 20/06/2008 18:37

Hello all

Hope you're feeling better Paddle and don't have to wait too long for DD to fall asleep.

DS had early bed tonight he's worn out. Nice to see you Mellow, sorry samples didn't work out.

Not sure what to do this weekend, feel like having a big sleep

Hope everyone else well

SJ99 · 20/06/2008 18:56

SJ99 · 20/06/2008 19:14

We're having pizza too, don't feel like cooking tonight, hope you managed to order yours the old fashioned way using the phone

sfxmum · 20/06/2008 19:29
