lol sfx, I like your strategy!

no dramas here over what to do on FD! We get to do whatever we like which is Tesco this morning and swimming this arvo.

I guess everyone has their own sad/disappointing experiences to do with pregnancy and children.

i recognise just how lucky i am to have dd after not particularly trying very hard and then having a pretty easy pg. blissful ignorance of how hard it could have been to concieve etc.

on the sad side, at 42 it is highly unlikely that i will have another and experience a conventional relationship/birth/first years etc......

ya boo to conventional anyways, now where's that google search for campervans gone? i have my beady eye on a ford auto sleeper now, they have a porta potti and hot water

oxo, i had a table booster seat from you which i passed on to best friends who are now in NZ. I'm really sorry but I very much doubt I'd be able to get it back to you.

OTOH, SJ has those Postman Pat wellies

who needs freecycle with us lot around LOL!

dd slept till nearly 8am today. i am in shock! she woke just after midnight and again just before 5am had a bit of a yell which i ignored and she went back off.

a day out on South Bank with virtually no sleep must've done the trick. she was in bed and asleep by 7:30pm too - having that extra hour in the evening was bliss. I'd forgotten how lovely it was when she went to bed early.

seriously considering dropping her nap going forward now, or would that be very mean of me?

sfxmum · 15/06/2008 09:49

seems to be working, he is doing the dishes

Paddle all your campervan stuff is making me long for the open road, I am even dreaming about it

but for now I am just looking forward to the Festival, shame these days I can't jump the fence at Glasto at least 2 people I would love to see

ComeOVeneer · 15/06/2008 09:57

Morning all. Well seeing as it is father's day dh has been allowed to do what he wants. Rather sadly that has been go out and play golf. Was hoping he would want to do something with the children . Unfortunately as the fundubg for hi smedication has been pulled he is awaiting getting on another trial, so is currently in a lot of pain, plus there are concerns about work as they didn't make any partners this year in his depatment (overall the firm made 40% less partners up this year compared to last) so everyone is twitchy. SUffice to say he isn't the happiest person to be around atm and has a short fuse with the children so perhaps it is for the best. I have promised the children we will bake this afternoon, and we are having a family bbq tonight so....

I even made him a lovely meal last night (have discovered the recipe for the most gorgeous molten chocolate puddding OMG it was heaven!!!!!) to try and cheer him up.

Anyway chores to be done and children to entertain.

SushiMummy · 15/06/2008 10:01

morning all.

just a quick one to say hi and thank foxie for the excellent tip on the school open day. Ta muchly.

fitfox · 15/06/2008 13:41

Hallooooooooooooo

MrsRecycle · 15/06/2008 15:29

helloooooo Foxie!

quick post - poor dh has been working all weekend and has been feeling awful with this bug that I gave him. He hasn't been getting home til 9pm every night - a long day, when he has to leave at 6am. So a crap Father's Day for him - but we have got him a very good present that he'll like and I'm cooking a roast for him whenever he gets home.

Enjoy the rest of Father's Day everyone - must dash have to pick up dd2 from a party.

hello hope everyone is well

just a question for techies does anyone use gtkpod for ipod on Ubuntu? it is driving me mad

guessing will have to hand over to dh or go on scary techie forum

fitfox · 15/06/2008 21:35

SFX - eh?

sfxmum · 15/06/2008 21:41

sorted now

ComeOVeneer · 15/06/2008 21:43

Glad you asked foxie. Well had a productive day. Did some baking with the children, a batch for them to decorate and a couple for me to practice on. I have a new camera so was fiddling with it trying out all the different functions. However I don't know how to get them downloaded onto the ocomputer!

sfxmum · 15/06/2008 21:47

COV what you need is a nerd dh like mine, you can borrow him for a few molten chocolate yummy puds

ComeOVeneer · 15/06/2008 21:54

DH says he is too tired to show me now. I want to up load my pictures. My old camera doesn't focus really close up, so the photos I have taken with that are blurry, but I can upload them.

sfxmum · 15/06/2008 22:01

too tired? only because he is unwell am I not tut tutting

I don't know much tech stuff but try to learn it as if I ask dh he ends up installing countless other 'cool' programmes I loose track of what I have and end up not learning anything

am very tired but I want to catch brothers ans sisters in an hr and read a few more articles from the sunday paper which I am obviously doing now as I shirk from essay writing

Paddlechick666 · 15/06/2008 22:05

sfx, brothers & sisters isn't on tonight

i have it on series link record and i think maybe it finished last week.

off to bed for me now. had an okay day, nothing massively exciting but no nap for dd so another 7:30pm asleep.

great that she's in bed early but am twiddling my thumbs a bit now LOL!

sfxmum · 15/06/2008 22:12

no no no one more to go at least I think it still shows on my reminder list after BB at 11

sfxmum · 15/06/2008 22:14

I like the no nap business, it is tricky to space out the excitement and fit in some rest but I like that she is in bed asleep before 9.

Kewcumber · 15/06/2008 22:31

pmsl Paddle same boat here - didn;t give DS a nap today (having been up at 6 as usual (cruel mummy)) and he was out of it by 8pm. Trolled around the house trying to work out what I used to do before?!

Kewcumber · 15/06/2008 22:41

Mellow - I meant to say that if the measure of being a woman is pregnancy without any articifcal means then (if you'll excuse the language) I'm well and truly fucked!! Perhaps I have a philosophical attitude to it because I don't have any choice - some of the best fertility brains in the country took a run at my womb and conceded defeat.

IMVHO the measure of a woman is what you do do not what you don't (or can't) do (if that makes sense to you).

Kewcumber · 15/06/2008 22:43

"does anyone use gtkpod for ipod on Ubuntu" - is that Klingon for "nice weather we're having"?

sfxmum · 15/06/2008 22:58

klingon yes QaQ jaj

sfxmum · 15/06/2008 23:06

paddle if you are not it bed, it is on

Paddlechick666 · 16/06/2008 08:26

morning all, had to wake dd at 7am. have told CM to cut nap to 40mins from now on. I think she still needs a sleep whilst with CM as she is on the go the whole time.

sfx, checked TV+ this morning and it recorded [phew]

bunyanvillas · 16/06/2008 08:32

OH NO. So have I missed the last episode of Brothers & Sisters?? Virgin Media f*ed up royally last week and went kaput in the middle of The Apprentice! Is still not properly fixed so not recording

Paddlechick666 · 16/06/2008 08:46

oh bunyan, what a pita!

I have it recorded on my VM box. you're welcome to come over and watch it

Paddlechick666 · 16/06/2008 08:46
