I so wanted to post on the other thread but it's full up - you lot don't half chat don't you

OP posts:
AtheneNoctua · 13/06/2008 18:07

No idea what it is called. It is grey metal frame. The matress comes in 3 sections so it grows as child grows. Must admit it has been peed on a few times. But, it's just a plain foam matress (no spring to rust) so it has been hosed down and aired out a few times.

You are welcome to it for free.

DD and DS had a new bunk bed delivered today so I'm quite happy to get these things out of my house. The sooner the better.

xoxo · 13/06/2008 18:35

AtheneNoctua (what is up with that name!)me, me , me, please. I really wd love cot, changing table and anything else going.)sheepish aside) did I miss the evening out? sorry.

Foxy - good idea! the list of stuff I need is endless and my newly decluttered home is about to get recluttered again .
I need (oh lordy, I can't remember what I used before as opposed to what gathered dust!):
sterliiser (yes I will bf, but I also want to express so I can sleep while dh feeds. I love the theory anyway)
breast pump (electric as those hand jobbie things don't work on me) (snigger)
baby car seat (birth onwards)
baby monitor
those babygro sleeping things, like little sleeping bags (will be november so warmish)

I really can't remember anything else, so am happy to take advise. Am also happy to pay/ donate chocolate cakes/ wine in return. Don't let my desperation and unseemly poverty put you off.

Steppy - looks like we are soul mates. I wept when Mary went blind. But she still got the hunky men while Laura was forced to put oranges up her blouse (why do I remember that bit?)

Trying to keep kids in teh bath whilst typing. It's not working. I've just hearda tidal wave so must investigate.

COV: I have an idea ( actually - 3 )for raising school funds that is working very well for us. I'll tell you all about it when theres a get together.

xoxo · 13/06/2008 18:43

Oh and baby bjorn carrier thingy, if poss

Paddlechick666 · 13/06/2008 18:50

oxo, i've got a fair bit of that stuff.

2 x 2.5 tog grobags, early stage but there is a weight restriction on them so you can't use from newborn.

group 0+ car seat and base - Graco AutoBaby

Tomy digital monitor

Avent electric pump

Baby Bjorn (and other slings )

I used to sterilise in a 5 litre tupperware tub with miltons lol.

I'd need to hunt them out for you to come look at. was planning a big photo session for ebay soon anyway.

athene, was kinda hoping it'd be the wooden one as not too keen on the metal one. as dd isn't even in cotbed yet i'll leave it but thanks anyways. have you considered freecycle?

xoxo · 13/06/2008 18:54

Paddle: we should def meet. I'll help you with your clear out! I'll call you next wk to meet up?

why other slings too?

Paddlechick666 · 13/06/2008 19:00

aha! help clearing out would be fabulous! i have an idea the "bits" for the Avent are in seperate places LOL.

I tried several slings with dd including a Freedom Ringsling (never got the hang of it with a newborn) and a Storch wrap which worked brilliantly once I got my confidence up. Wish I'd tried harder with it from the outset.

Got a couple of others for use when they're older and love my Ergo. Can't remember when I last used the buggy.

I have Friday arvos off now but work the rest of the time. Am around next Sunday before heading off for a week or so for Glasto.

ComeOVeneer · 13/06/2008 20:45

OK everyone. I feel the need to say 'tis time to have a meet-up soon. Who is on board/where/when?

Also another idea, as I believe all our expectant members are due in a similar time of year could I suggest we do a baby shower? I know it is an americanism, but we could use it as an excuse to get together (I am happy to host and cater - will do cake ), will give those who have offered baby stuf a chance to hand it over etc? Good or bad idea?

sfxmum · 13/06/2008 21:14

I am in but July is quite full at the moment

speaking of baby things I have been going through my stuff to send away and got super broody, doesn't help that you lot seem to be getting pregnant every week
might be time to try again

ComeOVeneer · 13/06/2008 21:22

Oh sfx didn't mean to upset you about it. I do know how you feel in a way (having had a miscarriage last year and dh's refusal now to have another child). I hope it happens for you soon.

sfxmum · 13/06/2008 21:32

no not upset at all always find babies and pregnancy a lovely thing worth celebrating

it is just that we started talking about trying again soon and it has been on my mind with all the added anxieties

ComeOVeneer · 13/06/2008 21:42

Fingers crossed for you sfx. TBH I did think that I had come to terms with not having a 3rd (which has been my "life picture"), yet having found out my cousin is expecting (her first) I realised I'm not totally over it at all.

sfxmum · 13/06/2008 22:15

yes I know what you mean I gave myself a cut off time and I think for my sanity I must keep to it

but what we need is everyone else to pop along and sort out a date for a meet up asap

Kewcumber · 13/06/2008 22:18

ah hellofellow round-up'er. I don;t think you really ever quite accept the "loss" of a never had baby (if that makes sense). You life moves on and is differnt to how you imagined it would be perhaps better, who knows but it seems fairly normal to me to have a little part of your brain that has stored the images of the family you didn't have. I like to think that there's a parallel universe somewehre where I exist with my parallel family

sfxmum · 13/06/2008 22:22

meant to say I am not sure I knew about your miscarriage, I am sorry it happened, last year I know of about 4 people and then I had my own in December.

DH not particularly enthusiastic either but I he usually just waits until I decide to go for it and then goes along, same thing last time, men!

fitfox · 13/06/2008 22:36

[hugs] to CoV, SFX and and QC - I take a lot of things for granted over here...

XoXo - LOL at oranges up blouse - I clearly recall that scene too!!

I have an Avent Isis pump which is the BIZ - will probably not need it after about Sept (when R U due?)

Also a Baby Bjorn carrier which Chubba is nearly to big to fit into...

have a great condition changing mat

have your old car seat 9 months-4 years (which Chubba is using atm)

fitfox · 13/06/2008 22:39

XoXo also have a fabby MamanJoJoBebe bedside cot (can line up with bad and remove one side) which Chubbaill be too big for at some point in the not too distant future..

CoV yes pleeeze to a meet up - am amazed at your washing up liquid trick as I had never thought of that

sfxmum · 14/06/2008 11:15

good morning all

can I just say how much I dislike dog owners who do not pick up the pooches poop and let them jump and bark at people minding their own business huff puff

better now

slng · 14/06/2008 13:31

Hello all!

Very dopey at the moment - not sure if jetlag or effect of hayfever pill. Probably both ...

sfx - let's rant about irresponsible dog owners. Makes me feel at home again! I did feel a bit guilty though telling a woman crossly that DS2 REALLY doesn't like dogs running up to him, even if that dog is the size of a rat ...

fitfox · 14/06/2008 14:44

Hiya

For anyone at loose end this arvo, there is a big NCT Fair at the Barn Church from 2.30pm-5pm today - looks good

sfxmum · 14/06/2008 15:08

thanks for tip foxie, would as dh out at work but toddler not having the best day, 2 huge screaming wooblies so far
now quiet watching Toy Story we are both happy

slng where I go running there are lots of people walking dogs, mostly fine but at weekends I always get jumped it is just so annoying

xoxo · 14/06/2008 15:15

HI all
I'm very touched at all your kindness - I really appreciate it. Our initial panic at this pregnancy is abating (slowly) (very slowly).

I feel for those of us who have had misc's having experienced it myself. Kew's right, you don't get over it, I always imagine how old they would be now etc. But I do really believe in fate and if something is meant to be, then it will happen.
That's probably just a lazy ass way of allowing laissez faire run parts of my life, but so far, it's been ok. Apart from being short fat and grey instead of tall skinny and blond . So many cakes, so little time....

It's just the shocks from the sidelines that knock you for six once in a while. But you do get over it and face the next thing on the list........it'll be ok.

sermon over. washing to do.

fitfox · 14/06/2008 16:03

Sory - NCT Tea Party not Fair

Trying to motivate myself to go to it.....

mellow2 · 15/06/2008 08:51

Hello everyone,

I hope you are all well. I've been quite busy with the shop but mostly I've been feeling quite down.

I, too, feel for those who have had miscarriages although I did not get pg until I had IVF. I have a different sort of experience, one of failure and that I was less of a woman because I couldn't get pg.

Anyway, back to happier news.

Oxo,
Congrats on your pg! I've got your booster seat which dd would have outgrown in the next couple of months. I could return that back to you before November.

sfxmum · 15/06/2008 09:06

good morning all

Mellow I am sorry you have been feeling low, unfortunately it is something I know well, do tell if you fancy meeting up at some point.
I always pull away and feel like digging a hole when I feel like that (every other week) but for me going out and meeting people helps

besides it is always nice seeing you and your dd

Fathers say so we are waiting for dh to say what he wants to do, now just have to make it coincide with what I want to to

hope you are all well, lovely promising weather

sfxmum · 15/06/2008 09:07
