Hello all

Steppie - hope it didn't hurt

Foxie - how's your mouth today?

Bunyan - don't worry, just do what works for you, we can try and meet next wk instead

As it turned out the party host came round at tea time and bought DS a present as she felt bad that he missed the party which was v.sweet of her. She said her friend just turned up without warning her that her DD had the pox and just assumed people had either had it or didn't mind their LO's getting it and forgot that I was pg. I just pity any kids who did catch it after the party.

Then I went to cinema for 1st time in yrs and watched Sex & the City, v. enjoyable!

Paddle - glad you had a good trip. I'd be tempted to wander but then I have moved around a lot and think I was born with itchy feet It's not for everyone but I have certainly loved the different experiences & places, and definitely easier when the DC are young.

Kewcumber · 10/06/2008 14:12

oh yeah Steppie thats what I meant too - "hope it didn't hurt"!

Kewcumber · 10/06/2008 14:13

new pic of DS on profile - funny boy

SJ99 · 10/06/2008 14:13
Grin
stepfordwife · 10/06/2008 14:22

nah, too busy giggling (quietly) to myself, SJ

kew, no you didn't..
fab pic
dd ok going to CM today, btw...the attraction? "me see gherkin's willy if he hasn't got his night nappy on."
look at what he's started

oh dear, has loads of pros, but am fed-up at mo with working from home..have even started hurliomng myself off chairs for a bit of excitement, you know...
i want to go out into the comooooooooonity and see peeeeeeeople
ho-hum..

stepfordwife · 10/06/2008 14:23

hurling off chairs..

stepfordwife · 10/06/2008 14:26

even if (which i'm sure you won't) you got chicken pox, SJ, they can give you some sort of counter-acting jab, i think
it's only really dangerous to women in the early weeks and when they're just about to drop, but can understand your worries.

SJ99 · 10/06/2008 14:32

Yes Steppie I read that they can give you the jab so if I did get CP then I would be more comfortable, but it doesn't prevent the risk of baby contracting virus and developing defects. I know risk is slim but might ask more about it at my next check up for future ref in case DS gets it later in the year & passes it onto me

SJ99 · 10/06/2008 14:38

BTW Sfx (and anyone else) - do you want to come to Marble Hill with me tom? I'm going to try a new playcentre called the 1 o'clock club. It is on 1-4pm and has climbing frames & sand pit etc for under 5's. You can get R68 to venue. We have never ebeen before as DS used to nap durng this period but not that's not happening regularly might see how he likes this place.

stepfordwife · 10/06/2008 14:45

yes, deffo always best to ask and set your mind at rest, SJ
it's quite unusual not to have immunity from chicken pox, isn't it?

talking of medical matters, went to dr this morning and had dd's red book in my bag for info to fill in her nursery forms.

automatically handed dr the red book. she just looked at me and said;'think you're a little bit too old for this."

would love to join you tomorrow, but got office chairs to fall off.
enjoy

stepfordwife · 10/06/2008 14:48

they're also suggesting pregnant women (once past 1st trimester) have a flu jab, aren't they?
sorry, not intending to give you more to worry about, just thought you might like to know (if you don't already of course)

sfxmum · 10/06/2008 14:50

hello all

steppie do you need excitement? does it involve pain?
just trying to work out a care plan, it was my job you know

KC lovely pic, dd wants a stethoscope too and asks to play doctors

SJ I would be up for it tomorrow thanks

I feel like action woman today, we went swimming then lollipop them Kew

I must get the courage to make that doctors appointment regarding the boob pain, it is probably just a ligament due to the size of the stupid things but I hate going to the doctor

Paddlechick666 · 10/06/2008 14:51

Afternoon all.

I just found out i can take a career break. No guarantee of a job on return, only best endeavours etc but...... my little brain is working overtime

marble hill 1 o'clock has a great reputation for a good outdoor play space. if weather not so great the Redlees Park one is better for indoor space.

sj, was really at pox mother's behaviour. hope you don't contract it.

i have nothing else interesting to say today.

work is tedious and boring and tedious and boring..........

Kewcumber · 10/06/2008 14:52

steppie come up to town and meet me for lunch. A quick tour of my office will disabuse you of the notion of office life being any more exciting.

Paddlechick666 · 10/06/2008 14:53

Oi Kew! D'you wanna do lunch on Thursday?

Kewcumber · 10/06/2008 14:54

ooh yes please.

Paddlechick666 · 10/06/2008 14:59

cool.

I can walk over Blackfriars Bridge if you wanna walk down and we'll meet in the middle?

stepfordwife · 10/06/2008 15:07

oi! paddle, hijack my lunch invitation, why don't you?
hmm career break = red camper van jaunt, eh?

i know, kew, but the grass is always greener...and other assorted cliches..

sfx..blimey, you need a lie down, woman!
oh yes please, could you really do me a care plan? it would make me feel so important

and get yourself to the doctor, woman
pick up that phone and make an appointment now

SJ99 · 10/06/2008 15:17

Yeah I heard about flu jab thing too, am trying to avoid!

Sfx - yes, please go and have a rest now, you're making me feel v.lazy Will be good to see you tom, here is the info Just read this place has won awards! Not sure exactly where it is as haven't been but get off at the St.Stephen's church stop, MH and call me then. Will aim to get there around 1pm

Ta for tip on Redlees Paddle - didn't know about that place. Will save for a rainy day. Campervan does look cool!

Steppie - we used to have office chair olympics, you have to try and do as many spins in your chair with one push off. I think my record was about 18 spins. There were other games but that was the best

Kewcumber · 10/06/2008 15:19

I am in love with Kidzone - Ds loves it, its small and quiet and I can have a coffee and read a book and DS disappears to play.

SJ99 · 10/06/2008 15:21

Kidzone is fab, must head back there sometime. IKWYM about chilling out while DS plays How did your friend like it last week?

sfxmum · 10/06/2008 15:28

SJ ok will do my best dd is keen on playing with other kids all the time. I will get off the bus and call you.

mellow it might be because of the hormonal cycle but the serum seems to be doing its job on affected are, will keep using and see how it goes, the scrub is lovely too

apparently I have a phone tutorial this evening doe sit show I haven't opened my diary this week? best pick up a book and take some notes

Kewcumber · 10/06/2008 15:36

it was a good place to talk with someone who doesn't have kids bizarrely because pretty much DS left us too it except for some (normal) showing off.

MrsRecycle · 10/06/2008 16:05

hi all - quick post, hope you are enjoying the sunshine - I haven't seen much of it as ds has been poorly with croup - he was really struggling to breath but has turned a corner now. But he won't go to sleep unless I rock him for an hour.

pc - over the campervan, it sounds like you had an idylic weekend away. You only live once is what I say - what an experience you would be giving dd eh?

foxie glad ds1 HC went well and the weather was good for you.

Must dash, ds is crying and I'm trying to WFH (only 37 working days til I'm a temp SAHM again!).
