Made some banana & date muffins, yum. Just what you need after a morning of train spotting

PC - you've lost me

DH is from W. country and would love to move there, although after his recent hideous stint in Bristol I'm sure his view of that has slightly diminished

Hi Gmama

SushiMummy · 04/06/2008 13:01

Hi all. Welcome back, gmama!

I got friends on FB! Yay!

rosmerta · 04/06/2008 13:10

hi everyone, welcome back Gaelsmama! Glad you're all moved in now!

Paddle, I'm also struggling with ds's sleep. He seems to be waking up during the night as well but just chats away. Last night I ended up turning the monitor off as I knew I wouldn't get back to sleep otherwise

And ds doesn't seem well again. Very subdued this morning and seems to have a bit of a temp. I know there's been a case of chicken pox at nursery and am hoping he doesn't get it, we're meant to be off on holiday next week!

Sj, I think I'm going to have to pass on today I'm afraid. I think ds just needs a quiet afternoon pottering around. I'm around Fri pm if you & Mellow would like to pop round then?

MrsRecycle · 04/06/2008 13:23

Afternoon all, COV, all back to normal in the Recycle house, fully recovered, thanks for asking.

ros, have you got insurance? If so, if ds does get it, you can have another week FOC courtesy of Ins co - it happened to my df when she went to Portugal and all her LOs got it.

Have just had a busy lunch uploading photo's - check out my profile/FB... There's even a Sparky Fix for your dds pc/Foxie - and a pre-fix for those going on holiday in August.

rosmerta · 04/06/2008 14:48

thanks MrsR, we do have travel insurance, will have to look into it!

Btw, does anyone have a portable dvd player they would be willing to lend me for next week?

SJ99 · 04/06/2008 15:01

Ros - No such luxury items in this house I'm afraid. I guess a hoop and a stick are no good?
We could try and do some thing on Fri, I'll see how it goes after tom thanks.

Sushi - do you feel really popular now?! Meant to ask there are 2 white bags in the sushi you gave me, do I have to do anything with them? Thanks again!

sfxmum · 04/06/2008 15:17

Ros sorry can't help with dvd player, but hope ds feels better.

took dd to Sheen Rec and she got soaked chasing big girls into the paddling pool, cue change of clothes, well trousers and knickers she went without shoes afterwards.
I did not really mind but she asked me if I was happy when I was helping her change

so are we all moving to the West Country, maybe start a self sustaining co-op ?

am so socialist

the allotment still has huge waiting lists but there might be an opening soon at the one nearest to us so fingers crossed

SushiMummy · 04/06/2008 16:20

SJ - those bags are meant to keep the nori sheets dry, no need to do anything but please do not eat them.

On FB, I found some lost friends but not sure if I should be in touch.

Ros - we have a portable DVD player for our car (monitor attached to the back of the front seat). Not what you have in mind, is that? You are welcome to borrow it, tho.

MrsRecycle · 04/06/2008 17:04

ros - dh blew up our dvd player so no good to you.

sushi - I found a picture of me 21 years ago - it was horrific - [cue mass exodus to FB looking for MrsR's dodgy photo]

HEHE I found it MRsR (what is it with all the men in drag????? )

stepfordwife · 04/06/2008 17:27

mrsR
glad all better

sushi, i don't know how the hell FB works either. keep meaning to navigate around it properly when i have a minute..

how's ds, kew?
suffering post-traumatic school trip stress disorder went with ds1's class to chiswick house. had 3 girls in my group, all delightful separately, but in a trio managed to make/break/make friends/bitch/cry/squabble over the course of the day. meanwhile the two boys (including ds1) climbed trees and rolled around in the mud.
nurture vs nature anyone?

made dh do school pickup while i had a cappuccino in kew village to recover.

hope everyone enjoying glorious evening

sfxmum · 04/06/2008 17:28

I have some pics on FB when I was a child the years between 15 and about 30 did not happen

MrsRecycle · 04/06/2008 17:31

oh it was hilarious - they are famous people so I won't mention their names. I've got loads more incriminating ones at home. I went on holiday with loads of df's and we basically took over the resort and brought our own DJs. On the last night, I suggested that we have a drag night and the organiser (my mate) said "no way, I'm not dressing up as a bird". He went across the road to the club and came back immediately and said "quick get me a dress they're all in drag there". Thank goodness there isn't one of me there (yet!) in drag.

cov what does it say on your Oscar cake? it is gorgeous

rosmerta · 04/06/2008 18:49

will have to go look on facebook later

Sushi, not sure, we wanted to borrow one that you can plug into a tv?

Sj, thanks for the offer of a hoop & stick but this is more to keep dh sane in the evenings

SJ99 · 04/06/2008 19:12

No worries, I thought it might've been to entertain DS on the journey! Is he feeling better now?

DS has been asking to go on trains on a daily basis, am thinking of taking him on the Thomas Day out. Sushi did you say you've been, which railway did you go to?

Will have a nosey on FB in a min

rosmerta · 04/06/2008 19:34

Ds seems to be, his temp got up to 40 but Calpol seemed to bring it down and he perked up a bit.

Kewcumber · 04/06/2008 20:57

DS seems almost back to normal now - My mum took him fgor a few hours today so I went to IKEA and then went for a swim (bliss). It was so lovely to potter about and enjoy a few hours to myself. Can't remember the last time I did that.

ComeOVeneer · 04/06/2008 22:01

I am to admit this, however could I have some input here please?

sfxmum · 05/06/2008 09:05

good morning all

COV - no need to be embarrassed, I find it difficult to give any more advice than what has been given, despite being shy I like public speaking, have more trouble with one to one.
am sure you will do fine.

how are the poorly LO's this morning?

I slept through my alarm so annoyed a myself, must drag dd out for run around Kew

ComeOVeneer · 05/06/2008 09:54

Thanks for tha advice.

SJ if you want trains how about this. Unfortunately it is only open the first Sunday of the month, so you just missed it. Next one is 6th July.

Hope all the LO's are on the mend.

Pleased you had a few hours to yourself yesterday Kew. And thanks for the offer to help with my "speech", unfortunately I doubt I will have a free evening to make it to your's before next Thursday. I am going to use dh as a sounding board.

Hope everyone is enjoying the weather!

SushiMummy · 05/06/2008 11:38

Morning all.

What a lovely day!

CoV - good luck with the speech. I'm sure you'll be fine.

Ros - don't know if our DVD player can be connected to a TV. We only use it in the car.
