Other thread full, so hope you all find me

Sushi, sorry I don't know anyone but there is a nanny agency near Kew Bridge. Hope ds is ok, typical of them to get ill at exactly the wrong time, isn't it?!

Foxie, we've sent off our form so am hoping we get our first choice (Weymouth)!

I suggested we got get a pressie for daddy
'oh what a great idea how about the toy shop?' she is still determined to get Percy and tracks

fitfox · 03/05/2008 14:06

Hi Paddle - lovely to have you back Hope you have areat afternon with DD and lots of cuddles

Rose - oh thanks for that. Now I have a good excuseto do nothing today....where did you swim today, was it Brentford. DS1 wants to go but can't go alone with 3 DCs so may try and persuade DH tomorrow

Paddle what do you fancy doing tomorrow? Forecast is showers

Don't forget the Kingston Green fair is on on 26 May

SFX- think I am suffering from my usual Saturday inertia today..

rosmerta · 03/05/2008 14:08

Foxie, we tend to take ds to Richmond, the pool at Brentford is usually freezing and he's shivering within 5 mins of getting in. Brentford's probably a lot better for older dcs with the slide & wave machine

I think we will walk to the shops foxie and hope for the best
I honestly just want a child free day, much as I love her my head is throbbing

sfxmum · 03/05/2008 14:11

btw what is exactly is the point of sending reporters to Prai da Luz?

Ros I really like pools in the park even more so when it is hot and we can use the outdoor pool

rosmerta · 03/05/2008 14:24

Are they still sending reporters there?

I like it as well, not used the outdoor pool yet though there were 3 young boys giving it a go today!

Welcome back PC! We are around tomorrow morning til noon so you're welcome to come over if you want an easy morning being lazy and drinking coffee while dh entertains the girls , just give me a shout. We went to the pool at Teddington today - bit of a trek but was fun and dd had a great time! Am expecting to be up half the night as ds has not fed well today , ho hum.

bunyanvillas · 03/05/2008 17:56

Think we're going to the fair on Mon if anyone's around ...

sfxmum · 03/05/2008 19:32

does anyone want a stairgate?
Lidam I think does not need screws - free to a good home, we just don't have the space to store it

if no one wants it will go on Freecycle

fitfox · 03/05/2008 19:40

SFX we did nothing today,in the end. DS2 woke me up all night and I have been tired and grumpy all day!!

Bunyan - hope to see your newborn soon

to you for getting out swimming with DD and tiny baby

sfxmum · 03/05/2008 19:45

hi Bunyan that sounds like hard work well done

foxie - poor dd had to put up with me being quite impatient, we just went to the shop briefly
then I got some energy to cook, lovely rhubarb and strawberry crumble.

really glad to have dh home for 3 days now. and I need to write the essay by Monday, zero motivation

fitfox · 03/05/2008 20:13

IKWYM - I need to fill in a on-line test fo that job

Zero motivaion...

Paddlechick666 · 03/05/2008 20:17

bunyan, that sounds great. will text you in the morning if that's ok. wanna get a peek at ds

well, i've had 2 hours sleep in the last 30 hours by my calculations. trying to stay awake this evening now!

parents brought dd back and it was great to see her. then we went for a late lunch at a lovely hotel they like on the river up the A30. too late for lunch so we had afternoon tea. first time i've ever done the whole cucumber sandwich and cake thing.

dd was in 7th heaven, she started with some chips then a chocolate eclair then smoked salmon sandwich then more and more and more cake!

she had a banana and some weetabix for tea

bunyanvillas · 03/05/2008 20:59

Nah, wasn't hard work at all - dh splashed around in the pool with dd whilst ds and I ambled up and down Teddington High Street It didn't seem fair to the beautiful people of Teddington for me to inflict myself upon them in a swimsuit! Foxie - if you are going to the fair on Monday you will see my ds there. He'll be the small person in a pram LOL! Think we are going to attempt the fair for a short while before escaping to the Gardens. PC - you must be beyond exhausted! Hope you manage to reclaim a few hours tonight. SFX/Foxie - get off mumsnet and get cracking on that essay/job app (stern face emoticon)

sfxmum · 03/05/2008 21:06

just can be arsed to follow your wise advise bunyan
have a newspaper and magazine to read, dh is muttering next to me on his laptop it is very distracting

rosmerta · 04/05/2008 08:39

Hi all, just popping in quickly while ds watches Balamory!

Foxie/sfx, hope you get your application/essay done today!

Bunyan, we may be going to the fair tomorrow afternoon, will keep an eye out for you!

Well, after thinking I would never get really excited about this & sharing it with everyone:

Ds did his first wee on the potty today

sfxmum · 04/05/2008 10:18

good morning all

ros well done ds, thankfully these threads are fairly ephemeral and they will not find them when they grow up - will they?

we will go to Kew Green at some point this weekend not sure when

I still have a few days to sort out essay but would like to have most of it done by Monday but not optimistic, had migraine last night which carried till this morning - yuck

hope all are well today

SJ99 · 04/05/2008 19:24

Hello all

Sfx - are you feeling better now? How is essay coming along?

Well done mini-Ros for wee on potty!

Paddle - afternoon tea sounds lovely, glad you had a good trip, bet DD was pleased to see you

Bunyan - well done on outing

Foxie - LOL at beinag knicker checker although have to admit IDKWYM I bled for about 5wks continuously with DS and was told it was m/c, the docs got that one wrong but never said what caused it

I'm feeling mega relaxed as have just come back from hen do in New Forest. Lots of chilling about in a quaint cottage cacthing up with friends, beauty pampering, followed by a fantastic Chinese meal in the evening. The rest of them went horse riding today but seeing as I couldn't go I came home to see DS (1st time I've left him for 24hrs). It was nice putting him to bed.

Did anyone go to the fair, was it any good? Not sure what we'll do tom, may try Cov's railway place if weather is good

fitfox · 04/05/2008 20:09

Hiya

Just had a fabby swim at "my health club" (I just love saying that ) and drove past the Kew Fair earlir it looked brill

Well done Ros's DS on your historical first potty production!!

SJ - your hen weekend sounds fabulous - I bet you had a reat time

Might attempt Kew Fair tomorrow then (she says purposefully)..who else is up for it?

fitfox · 04/05/2008 20:09

sorry keyboard playing up...

ComeOVeneer · 04/05/2008 20:52

Tomorrow, we are planning to go to Kingston for lunch then I have to come home and do a tonne of clearing out/ fair stuff. So dh is braving the Kew fair with both DS and DD in the afternoon so if you see/hear him bellowing ds's name, see if there is a fleeing 3 year old boy in your area and grab him

sfxmum · 04/05/2008 20:57

hi what a great hen night SJ
feeling better thanks but not great

we will pop to the fayre at some point tomorrow if dh in good mood the 3 of us if he is super grumpy chops just him and dd

fitfox · 04/05/2008 21:39

SFX IKWYM

Paddlechick666 · 05/05/2008 11:28

hi all, not having a good day. foul mood probably due to jet lag and demanding toddler.

it is lovely to see her but how easy it is to revert to pre-child selfishness when you're "off duty" for a week.

i have packed some bits and bobs and will attempt to get over to kew. we both need to get out of the house.

hopefully dd will power nap on the way there. i need her in bed before 8:30pm tonight which was when she finally went to sleep last night.

hope to see some of you guys there this arvo.
