Other thread full, so hope you all find me

Sushi, sorry I don't know anyone but there is a nanny agency near Kew Bridge. Hope ds is ok, typical of them to get ill at exactly the wrong time, isn't it?!

Foxie, we've sent off our form so am hoping we get our first choice (Weymouth)!

Ros, SFX - I drove past Kew Green today - the fair is not on tomorrow apparently, but Sun and Mon.

rosmerta · 02/05/2008 16:08

Thanks bunyan.

Just looked up Childsplay & its closing down tomorrow

OP posts:
sfxmum · 02/05/2008 16:11

about childsplay according to KC they had been taking severe cost cutting measures but obviously not enough to save it.

there aren't that many indoor play centres

rosmerta · 02/05/2008 16:14

I knew about all the cost cutting, dh used to take ds there quite a bit on weekends but thought it was working. You can still hire the hall for parties & the separate classes are going on but that's it.

SJ99 · 02/05/2008 16:27

Hello all

We've had a very exciting day and I can now spill the beans that I'm pregnant!!!!!

Went for our 1st scan which confirmed my belly is made of 90% choc/cakes and 10% little baby It hasn't quite sunk in yet but am terribly

Didn't want to say anything earlier as I had lots of bleeding and suspected m/c last time round. Thankfully this time all is a lot better, although have had lots of morning sickness which I didn't have last time but this too is getting better each day now.

Anyway, do we know who's Mayor yet?

Foxie - good luck for interview, you never know your luck

MrsR - enjoy your concert!

rosmerta · 02/05/2008 16:56

congratulation sj, glad the scan went well

no word on mayor yet, supposed to be around 9-ish tonight I think,

lol @ sfx

OP posts:
sfxmum · 02/05/2008 17:03

congratulations SJ does that mean you are 12wks along?
was the bleeding with ds? so worrying

Ros - it will be about that time but all signs point to the blonde foppish wonder

mellow2 · 02/05/2008 17:32

Congrats SJ

SJ99 · 02/05/2008 17:54

Thanks all. I'll be 12wks tomorrow, due mid Nov. Ros you'll be a couple a of wks apart, so in theory could give birth on the same day

slng · 02/05/2008 18:15

Congratulations SJ!

SushiMummy · 02/05/2008 18:18

SJ - congratulations! Great news.

stepfordwife · 02/05/2008 18:34

good luck with interview, foxie. whatever happens, it's always good practice, eh?
kew, have a fab time on IoW

yes, as bunyan says, vict fair, kew green, is sun and mon, noon-8pm, just to warn the earlybirds among us.

COV, re may night out. Go! Enjoy! only reason i haven't out my name downas onbly days i could go, there were only one or two names on, so knew it wouldn't be one of those, iyswim.

just had little fellas' photo taken (professionally, i mean, not by random passer-by). think there are a few where they all look relatively sane and attractive..(unlike their mother)
have a fab evening, all
toodlepip

bunyanvillas · 02/05/2008 22:08

Wow, SJ - that's lovely news, congratulations!! Hopefully you'll start to feel a lot better from hereon.

fitfox · 03/05/2008 09:41

Welcome to Boris Land!!!

'Twas rainy on voting day but is nice and sunny today for the Victorian Fun Fair on Kew Green

I hate to say it but....

Told you so!!!!

fitfox · 03/05/2008 09:58

SJ - congratulations - that's wonderful news! I had bleeding through my last two pregnancies - did you find out what caused it? I'm sure eveything will be fine this tim - do try not to worry too much (although you are talking to a knicker- checker here IYKWIM!!)

MrsR - I am an ex-Labour party activist and always vote Tory in Richmond, just to try and keep the mucho-incompetent Lib Dems out whenever possible.

I am kind of glad Boris got in 'cos I think Gordon Brown/E Balls et al are dangerous and not up to the job of PM really and this is the first step to ousting him/them.

Labour came in with very good intentions after years of the Tories running down public services (I am old enough to remember all the year on year cuts to the NHS, school funding, police funding etc). Unfortunately Labour hasn't managed to achiev some of its key aims - who would choose to have an op on the NHS nowaday? Who can find a decent NHS dentist who will do a decent crown for example Who seriously thinks that the eduction system has improved since Labour got in?

I am regularly interviewing job candidates who do not have basic grammar, even though some of them have a "degree" .

..and as for the 10p tax - what buffoon to not spot that mistake?

Anyway - rant over =- sorry if I have offendedanyone, but just couldn't keep it in [ink]

We had a nice day in Wiltshire yesterday. Job intervew is next week

SFX I get the feedback that I am very good, and came a close 2nd but not as good as the candidate they chose . Usually men get appointed to top jobs...

DS1's party will be at Brentford, as they have the luvverly slides etc - we are both really looking forward to it!

So wo is going to the Kew Fair then?

Might try and stroll down there this arvo

sfxmum · 03/05/2008 10:41

good morning all

well I stayed up for the official announcement
not a big fun of Gordon or this Labour party apart from a few people. but it is all ebb and flow anyway.

dh working today so I will try and go out with dd somewhere since it is sunny but really don't feel up to it

sfxmum · 03/05/2008 10:43

that sounded depressingmust talk to self in stern way to pull self together asap, I think

fitfox · 03/05/2008 12:14

SFXdo you fancy walking down to the fair later, about 3pm or something. I could call or you... am feeling I need motivating as well.

sfxmum · 03/05/2008 13:12

hi foxie yes give us a bell will try to drag dd out

rosmerta · 03/05/2008 13:43

Foxie/sfx, fair isn't on today. Starts tomorrow at 12pm. We're quite upset as we were looking forward to going today!

OP posts:
sfxmum · 03/05/2008 13:48

thanks Ros bummer needed incentive to go out.

rosmerta · 03/05/2008 13:51

I know what you mean. Funny though that after a week of rain, we've got a lovely warm day & we can't bothered to go out!

We've been swimming this morning & then stopped by the park on the way home so ds is very tired & was asleep almost while eating his lunch!

OP posts:
Paddlechick666 · 03/05/2008 13:55

hellloooooo!

I'm back! Blardy exhausted. Left hotel at 6am yesterday morning. Had a 4 hour layover in DC (ate lots of Ben & Jerry's to pass the time!) then a nearly 8 hour flight into Heathrow this morning.

Unfortunately couldn't sleep at all on teh way back - cabin way way way too hot. Grabbed a couple of hours this morning and am now awaiting the return of dd.

very excited as I have missed her so much but a bit apprehensive about being in charge of a child again

work went well after a sticky start and there was much shopping opportunity - eek don't look at the bank balance.

Estate Agent still haven't got final confirmation from HA that they will buy my flat so am getting a bit anxious and frustrated about that......

Huge congrats to SJ

Hope everyone else all good, haven't really caught up on the thread tbh.

We're around tomorrow if anyone fancies doing something.

rosmerta · 03/05/2008 13:58

hi paddle, glad the trip went well. Am sure dd is going to be thrilled to see you too!

We're not around tomorrow, nephew's 3rd birthday party!
