Other thread full, so hope you all find me

Sushi, sorry I don't know anyone but there is a nanny agency near Kew Bridge. Hope ds is ok, typical of them to get ill at exactly the wrong time, isn't it?!

Foxie, we've sent off our form so am hoping we get our first choice (Weymouth)!

OP posts:
sfxmum · 01/05/2008 21:49

foxie - dd anounced loudly hello I am minisfx and we are here to vote

busy day by the sound of it, is the swim party at pools in the park? last time I was there I saw a group arriving with presents and balloons, never knew they did that.

according to niece Boris will win based on sample views from her school
I think that is the sound of barriers being erected around the M25

mellow2 · 01/05/2008 22:45

Hi everyone,

I skimmed thru the posts but I can't keep up with the thread.

Foxie,
Good luck with the job interview.

Sushi,
Glad ds is better. I'll text you tomorrow morning.

SushiMummy · 02/05/2008 07:39

morning all.

sj - doc suggested salty water for the bad spots, that was pretty much it.

mellow - OK

foxie - good luck with the interview!

sfx - i take you are not a big fan of Boris?

DS is deffo on the mend, slept much better last night, in fact he is still asleep. The only thing is whenever he drinks milk, he has tummy ache. Is this normal for CP? BTW, doc said DS is no longer contageous 6 days after the first spot. So he's alright for the fayre tomorrow?

Have a nice day all.

AtheneNoctua · 02/05/2008 08:13

Sushi, How did the nanny work out? Can DS go back to nursery next week, or is the nanny coming back on Monday?

I have been in the meeting from Hell all week. I'm sure I did something really bad in a previous life to deserve this punishment.

I am on the edge of seat today awaiting election results. The speculation on the news this morning is both Labour and the Conservatives think Boris has won. Oh, I hope so. I can't really say I support Boris, but I hate Ken so I'll be delighted if he and his cirruptions and his inexcusable relationship with Hugo Chavez are on their way out. Oh what a joy it would be to see the Ken packing his things.

Hope everyone is well. I'm sorry I don't have time to catch up with the thread.

SushiMummy · 02/05/2008 08:45

Athene - thanks for asking. Well, according to doc, DS will be OK next week and Monday is bank holiday so he'll be back at nursery next Tuesday.

sfxmum · 02/05/2008 09:21

good morning all

sushi congrats on your friend, is that the one in her 40's?
glad ds is better, not sure about sore tummy but I would guess being poorly does that to you, in a mild way, of course if strong then might be something else.

not a fan of Boris for a number of reasons, but having him as Mayor might actually be quite a good thing in the end, make it all black and white, focus the mind.

anyone for Kew? please? can't leave here before 11.30, probably

slng · 02/05/2008 09:31

Good morning!

Are we in Boris-land today then? Emigration suddenly looks attractive.

sfx - only free after 1, but weatherman says heavy showers in the afternoon so maybe no Kew today either....

sfxmum · 02/05/2008 09:40

oh bum don't you want to risk it? I can't go out in the morning today keeping fingers crossed it will not rain until later

must get DH's birthday present dd is strongly lobbying for a Percy and extended train tracks

rosmerta · 02/05/2008 09:47

Counting still going on for Mayor according to BBC. I also voted tactically! I did ask ds's opinion, unfortunately Bob the Builder wasn't one of the options

Foxie - good luck with the interview

Ds in nursery this morning so I'm busy on MN cleaning up the house! Am planning on trying the cookie recipe this afternoon so also need to check ingredients supply.

We'll probably be off to the fair tomorrow afternoon, maybe bump into some of you there?

OP posts:
sfxmum · 02/05/2008 09:53

is that the Fayre with the cricket match in period costume? dh will probably be working so we might walk up the road.

ros if you can get the good vanilla Nielsen-Massey pricey but makes such a difference - Bob the builder has a good work ethic at least road works would be less of a problem and the Olympics thing would be done properly so Bob for Mayor

foxie - good luck with interview, do they give reasons when you come 2nd?

SushiMummy · 02/05/2008 10:13

sfx - yes, that's the one! She's 46 and this is her first baby. She was induced on 29 April but ended up with a cs. Both mother and baby are doing fine.

rosmerta · 02/05/2008 10:15

sfx - Don't know about the cricket match, just looks like an ordinary fair with rides etc. Btw, quick question about your cookie recipe, is it 175g or 75g of raisins?

OP posts:
sfxmum · 02/05/2008 10:23

175 its very oaty/ raisins but I just use what I have

rosmerta · 02/05/2008 10:24

sorry, is that 175 of oats as well? Will stop plaguing you after this!

OP posts:
sfxmum · 02/05/2008 10:39

75 oats

175 raisins

MrsRecycle · 02/05/2008 11:21

sending [positive vibes] foxie - you will get this job.

I voted Boris - can't stand Ken since he tried to build the new High School in our school playground - thank heavens for Prescott over-ruling him.

sushi - hope ds is feeling better.

slng - YIPEEEEEEE - you changed your photo. I loved it - have a similar one of dds (3 and 18m) who decided to redecorate the kitchen and themselves whilst dh was having a shower.

We're in Thomas land as well - ds has a Thomas duvet/pillow that he hugs/kisses before he goes to sleep and Thomas T-shirts that he kisses before he puts on.

Am going clubbing tonight at Heaven - benefit do for a friend of a friend - Pet Shop Boys and Madness are playing free as they knew him. Looking forward to catching up with some old faces - just hope I can stay awake. LOs are away at GPs until Monday.

Have a lovely weekend everyone

mellow2 · 02/05/2008 11:40

Ros,
I sent you an email.

ComeOVeneer · 02/05/2008 11:48

Morning all. Just a quick pop in (am so busy atm). Can everyone take a look at the May night out thread and add their name if they want to come, and any suggestions of where too would be greatly appreciated otherwise it looks as though it may be moved into June !

slng · 02/05/2008 11:52

sfx - might try Kew later ... Depends on how bonkers tired kids are.

sfxmum · 02/05/2008 12:09

MrsRecycle · 02/05/2008 12:46

definitely sfx

yes COV let's do May pleeeeeease

rosmerta · 02/05/2008 14:49

Looks like Boris is leading so far

OP posts:
slng · 02/05/2008 14:57

sfx - I give up on the idea of Kew:

  1. DS1 just wants to play with his trains and tracks

  2. a VERY DARK CLOUD is covering us now and is going in your direction

  3. have to return library video and books

  4. am afraid might go out in freedom and come home in Borisland

sfxmum · 02/05/2008 15:01

am quite resigned to the fact that Boris is our Mayor.

now for Cameron prime minister, it will be interesting to see how long his party takes to get rid of him once in power.

no more politics from me today.

am not relishing the prospect that dh will be working tomorrow although I understand him wanting to be off on his birthday, but am not sure I can make it till then

sfxmum · 02/05/2008 15:02

slng dark could seems to have arrived
