Other thread full, so hope you all find me

Sushi, sorry I don't know anyone but there is a nanny agency near Kew Bridge. Hope ds is ok, typical of them to get ill at exactly the wrong time, isn't it?!

Foxie, we've sent off our form so am hoping we get our first choice (Weymouth)!

I sympathize with that paddle in fact is one of my annoyances about summer, the people accross despite having gardens let the kids out to roam the street and be loud at dd's bedtime, the the mums shout

  • kevin / omar / etc fish finger ready get the f*ck home
slng · 15/05/2008 14:58

The only type of bridge I know is built by ds1 and ds2 and has little trains on it.

Paddlechick666 · 15/05/2008 15:04

slng, t'wasn't bridge but brudge. the well known Kiwi version of that popular game called Bridge.

sfx, yeah i get that out the front of the property. the back garden is clearly reserved for dodgy dealing.

what was i thinking buying ex-local? unfortunately all my fears have been proven.

sfxmum · 15/05/2008 15:12

it seems that it will only be 3 or maybe 4 of us out tonight, but I still want to go

SJ99 · 15/05/2008 15:26

What? Why is everyone dropping out? I will be there, even if I have to drink red bull to stay awake

Thansk for asking Paddle - have been getting quotes so far this week to square up the amount we'd have to fork out for repirs but house negotiations are taking a new twist. I just checked property website and our back up plan of renting a house in next st if negotiations fail no longer exists, so we will need to rethink our strategy otherwise could end up homeless at the end of June

This is why I need to go out while I can

SJ99 · 15/05/2008 15:29

Hope you feel better soon Ros, take it easy

sfxmum · 15/05/2008 15:32

oh great SJ I need a night out

ComeOVeneer · 15/05/2008 15:36

Hi all, quick catch up.

Pleased ds is on the mend MrsR.
Sorry another lousy night paddle.
Enjoy opera steppy.
Sorry I can't make it tonight, soooo much to do. Have been having weird dreams and waking up with very stiff neck and shoulders. Roll on Thursday, will have a couple of drinks on the plane I think

fitfox · 15/05/2008 20:22

Paddle you were very unlucky. I have bought two ex-LA and lived in one LA and been very happy - though in LA we had to get neighbours below and above evicted for noise nuisance! Flats are always more risky as you have people dirextly above/below.

Can you do a link to house you are considering? I have been looking in Wiltshire - you can get so much more for your money outside of London!

SFX - sorry about tonight, am feeling very achey and crappo. I thnk I saw those lads the other night - are they Housing Association tenants?

Steppy - you are very cultured - have a lovely evening

TBH I was more excited about the front crawl than the job...actually not true. If I had got that job I would have been in Heaven and sacificed family time etc for the high position and mucho dosh. So just as well I didn't get it eh?

As my old Mum wuld say "it obviously wasn't the right one for you"

Paddlechick666 · 15/05/2008 20:43

foxie, have emailed you links to your hotmail.

hope you feel better soon.

fitfox · 15/05/2008 21:03

Thanx Paddle

rosmerta · 16/05/2008 09:48

Hi all, I'm feeling a little better today. Went to bed at 8.30pm last night . Anyway, hope you had a good night out.

Dh sprung on me last night that he wants to move as well! He's thinking of Woking, probably because that's where his favourite golf course is. Thing is our mortgage is up for renewal in December & just moving a little bit further away means we can get a much bigger house for a lot less mortgage. So we've got an estate agent coming round on Tuesday to give us a valuation. Fingers crossed it will be high enough!

sfxmum · 16/05/2008 09:54

Ros another one it is the baby isn't it? everyone seems to want to move once a baby is on the way.

had a nice quiet dinner last night, thanks mrsR&SJ
but got home feeling a bit rough and still do this morning, hope it is nothing.

am off to visit sister soon and have a look at her new flat
hope everyone has a nice day

Paddlechick666 · 16/05/2008 10:09

flippin hec, West London Posse go National!

just for the record, there is no baby in my decision

god i am feelin quite quite stressed today. dd awake at 3am, apparently a man outside woke her up. i didn't hear anything but who knows. 5am cue more major door banging which thank god didn't wake her. she eventually slept till nearly 7:45 lovely but stuffs the whole routine!

never happy moi!

glad you had a nice meal ladies, hope you feel better today sfx.

MrsRecycle · 16/05/2008 10:25

Woking - I'm thinking of Cobham ros - so we may be round the corner! You should consider West Byfleet - it is close to Brooklands which is nice shopping centre which reminds me of Kew Retail park (has Marks there).

Foxie I so wished you were there last night - I'm a predicament at the mo re career wise and just don't know what to do.

Lovely to catch with you last night sfx/sj - sfx I felt really quessy on the way home and thought I was going to throw up - maybe it was the soup we both had that. I thought it was the salmon but you didn't have that. Hope you're feeling better today - I still feel a bit rough - tired with a headache but have soldiered on, as we mums do.

pc - sorry to hear you still feeling stressed - hope you have some good news soon, god knows you deserve it.

Paddlechick666 · 16/05/2008 10:29

thanks MrsR, btw no progress with anything at our place I'm afraid. they announced a new outsourcing drive on Weds so another 450 jobs for the chop

i think everyone should move to Oxfordshire with me never mind Kew Retail, think of the outlet village that's 5 mins away

sounds like you guys ate something a bit dodgy, hope it's over now tho.

rosmerta · 16/05/2008 10:29

Thanks MrsR, will look into West Byfleet! Tho tbh it does all depend on the valuation. We may not be going anywhere!

OP posts:
MrsRecycle · 16/05/2008 10:42

I would love to move to Oxon with you but sadly ILs are quite happy in Eastbourne and we can't get them to relocate. But I'll definitely be visiting you to go shopping - I love the outlet centre there. Things have changed work wise - big reorg on Weds - I'll email you the details/predicament I'm in. 450 jobs - thats a lot seems to be case everywhere which is why I'm struggling with my decision at the mo.

Ros - my sis lives in Chertsey and I grew up in Walton so know the area well. Actually, Woking is a lot cheaper than Brentford, hence our decision to move Surrey way.

fitfox · 16/05/2008 11:37

MrsR - do you want to give me a tinkle? Am interviewing all day but am free 6-8pm tonight and then all day tomorrow

Would be nice to catch up with you

Glad you had a lovely evening, albeit with iffy tummies

MrsRecycle · 16/05/2008 12:08

Brilliant foxie - will call you tomorrow...

Paddlechick666 · 16/05/2008 12:13

i've emailed you MrsR

mellow2 · 16/05/2008 14:01

Paddle and mrsR,
Reorgs makes for stressful workplaces. I used to work in a dotcom where they were laying people off over an 18 mth period. It was not a happy time.

Kewcumber · 16/05/2008 14:46

bloody hell - am I going to be the only person left in London

Tumbleweed blows down KC's street.

(Won the brudge of course)

Kewcumber · 16/05/2008 14:50

I was know as the Angel of Death inmy last job

Last lay-off made last week - another director contemporary (though not as close personally). Management team down from 7 to two full time (including me) and 1 person at 3 day a week.

Stupid bloody chairman who handled the director level redundancies has cocked up the chares they get in compensation (I offered to go to meeting with investors to work it out but no...) ONe director will get 10% of what we told him .

Bloody idiots - guess who will have to sort out the mess.

mellow2 · 16/05/2008 15:00

Kew,
I think Sushi is staying put. So am I. Sorry you have to deal with more of the mess at work.
that management team is down by more than half.
