Other thread full, so hope you all find me

Sushi, sorry I don't know anyone but there is a nanny agency near Kew Bridge. Hope ds is ok, typical of them to get ill at exactly the wrong time, isn't it?!

Foxie, we've sent off our form so am hoping we get our first choice (Weymouth)!

OP posts:
sfxmum · 15/05/2008 10:04

good morning all

paddle that kind of behaviour is above ASBO new house?

stepie so how did it go? are you organising the fayre?

COV as we are on the subject good luck for Saturday, I'd be fuming at the woman who kept silent and made you do double the work, just how passive aggressive is that?

mrsR hope ds is feeling better

SJ sorry about broken night, am lucky with dd has she never stays awake for long, last night she feel asleep on our bed and woke up at around 3am crying demanding to be put back on her bed
'Get me out of here'

hope everyone is ok today

sfxmum · 15/05/2008 10:07

is no one watching child of our time? I keep having to catch up on iplayer but was so so sad last night
have followed since it started

SJ99 · 15/05/2008 10:10

Hello Sfx - no I'm not watching it, don't watch much tv. I did see one series while I was in Sweden which I enjoyed, I think they were 4-5 just starting infant school. How old are they now?

sfxmum · 15/05/2008 10:16

they are 8, it is just the differences I find interesting, some things are heartbreaking last night one of the mums died and another sent the kid off to boarding school because
'it is too hard with him around'
well not really against boarding per se but that reasoning and whole attitude was very sad.

SJ99 · 15/05/2008 10:19

Sad Sad

sfxmum · 15/05/2008 10:28

it is expected that if they follow a 25 kids life's tragedies will happen, even in the first series with the twins that did not survive etc.

anyway it is interesting, for the one bereaved it might be nice in years to come to have such lovely record of her mum

am clearly hormonal
looking forward to tonight mostly because dh is having a fight with his accountants (soon to be ex) and keeps ranting, bless him he needs to give me a job so I can talk to these people and keep track of paperwork

sfxmum · 15/05/2008 10:31

btw dd has 2 small toy cats which she seems very fond of, she is also very keen to go pet the neighbours cats Miffy Buffy & Spike

she obviously has not heard of the no pets rule at ours

stepfordwife · 15/05/2008 12:59

hello chaps
how you all diddling?

paddle at asbo neighbours

sfx, yes i got back for second half of the apprentice. kept my haed down a lot so won't be organising fair single-handed (happy to help...just not too much, eh?)

fitfox · 15/05/2008 13:15

Afternoon

Well I didn't get the "big" job. Will ask for feedback. Wouldn't it be funny if they said, " well you don't have a willy"

Am partly miffed and partly elieved as it was in Lewisham so I would have been cash rish/time poor.As opposed to now, when I am cash por/time poor!

How was PTA Steps?

SFX how are you getting there tonight? Not sure what time I can escape here but we could walk back together

fitfox · 15/05/2008 13:18

Mardy keyboard playing up

Had a great swimming lesson last night and am actually able to do a length front crawl now. This obviously involved breathing, which is what I just didn't "get" up until last night, but the teacher has showed me the trick.

Have had 4 swims since Tuesday evening and feel all lovely and achey.

Managed about 6 lengths front crawl this morning - no consecutive lengths but lengths none-the-less

mellow2 · 15/05/2008 13:20

Foxie,
Sorry you didn't get the job. But Lewisham is a really long trek from Richmond.

Dh used to work in Chiswick when we lived in the Isle of Dogs and it used to take him 2 hours to get to work in a car and that was when there weren't any road works etc.

MrsRecycle · 15/05/2008 13:23

foxie - what a shame, you'll get the next one I'm sure. But who wants to work in Lewisham eh.

pc - can't you ring probation service (anonymously obv) to report him for breaking terms of it? Surely this would be one of them.

ds is much better - you were right COV. Thanks for your advice.

fitfox · 15/05/2008 13:27

Thans chums

Yes my life would have been hell actually with a 90 minute each way commute....

Glad DS is better MrSR, must've been very painful

DD sai yesterday : "Gordon Brown goes to Sainsburys every day and buys us fruit to eat at school".

I didn't tell her that the fruit schools get for free has failed its pesticide-level tests and can't be sold retail anyway. I somehow thought that such information might slightly put her of eating fruit

sfxmum · 15/05/2008 13:28

foxie sorry about the job I am convinced they see woman with kids and dismiss the ability to run departments on the grounds of 'they will have other priorities'
sorry rant over

don't know what time dh in but he knows and usually makes an effort to be here on time

MrsRecycle · 15/05/2008 13:33

foxie - don't tell dd1 that, its the only fruit she eats - anything for an excuse not to eat it. 90 minutes commute is not nice - I do it every day and hate it.

Kewcumber · 15/05/2008 13:34

sorry about job Foxie. Have fun tonight, I'm having bridge/dinner at my house for my sisters birthday (would rather be out with you lot )

Paddlechick666 · 15/05/2008 13:42

foxie, sorry about the job but on the plus side, i should say your estimate of a 90min commute is very conservative.

i have a 90m commute to South Bank

hope y'all have a good time tonight. i will be home hanging out and considering putting up nets so i can twitch 'em when watching neighbour!

dd didn't go to sleep till 9pm last night due to their shenannigans in the garden. trouble is, it's a communal garden and i'm really not being reasonable if i hang out the window and tell them to piss off am I.

they are outside their property as much as they are outside mine.

the other house i have found is just over the road from the lovely estate. it's same distance to the nursery etc tho. it's slightly older, has a conservatory and a bigger garden and slightly larger 2nd bed altho only slightly.

drawbacks are, it has warm air heating and it's not on the lovely estate or as cute or as nicely tucked away. but it has more room inside and out, a better layout and the garage is off the garden rather than in a seperate block and part is given over to a home office.

haven't seen it yet but will view tomorrow.

MrsR, glad ds is on the mend.

Paddlechick666 · 15/05/2008 13:46

finally my property is on rightmove. am sure you clever lot can hunt it down and have a look.

it actually looks lovely!

sfxmum · 15/05/2008 14:06

paddle maybe I am a cranky neighbour but some silly woman was talking on the phone very loudly outside my bedroom window at 3am and I tapped on the glass and told her to move on

KC -bridge? are you better than she is? do you play for money? could be fun

KC / Mellow / Paddle sent you an email

stepfordwife · 15/05/2008 14:22

sorry about job, foxie, but would indeed have been a hellish commute and added stress.
well done on front crawl

paddle, good luck with house...sounds promising.
have a lovely time this evening - woiuld love to join you but i'm off to the opera, dahling.

shite - got to go..dd is now blowdrying my (dry) hair..

mellow2 · 15/05/2008 14:30

Ooh, steppie, that sounds posh. Which opera are you seeing?

I'm .

SJ99 · 15/05/2008 14:30

Have fun at the opera Steppie, sounds lovely. I have never been to an opera and would love to go one day

Foxie - Sorry you didn't get the job But as others have said the trek would've been tough. Well done with swimming progress though

Paddle - good luck for viewing & selling

KC - Have fun with your bridge evening

Have just had some M&S choc fudge cake - absolutely delicious!

SJ99 · 15/05/2008 14:31

MrsR thanks for number, will call him now

Paddlechick666 · 15/05/2008 14:50

thanks all, guess we'll see eh!

sfx, totally fair enough at 3am but 8:30-9pm is probably a bit unreasonable on my part.....

will check email later.

opera, bridge, dinners out? blardy hell, you lot have got a life ain'tchya?!?!?!

sj, any progress on the house? cakes sounds delicious hope you get a better sleep tonight btw.

Kewcumber · 15/05/2008 14:55
