Other thread full, so hope you all find me

Sushi, sorry I don't know anyone but there is a nanny agency near Kew Bridge. Hope ds is ok, typical of them to get ill at exactly the wrong time, isn't it?!

Foxie, we've sent off our form so am hoping we get our first choice (Weymouth)!

Hello all!

Very dull work at the moment ...

Isn't it sunny? Perhaps it's mushroom-pancake-at-the-park weather. DS2 is so rubbish at eating sandwiches that all our picnics have to have all bits "sewn in" ...

stepfordwife · 07/05/2008 12:13

hi everyone
what a glorious day...shame i'm stuck at my cdesk..
feeling very demotivated, i must say..

sfx..river trip sounds fab. cake sounds even fabber

bunyan..."they say" you need four hours sleep at a stretch to avoid insanity, so well done!

kew, glad you had a nice time on IoW. funny how they always wear sunglasses upside down, eh?
foxie..good luck for tomorrow. sure all that prepping will pay off. how did ds1's short back and sides go down at school? had hairdresser still lost her voice when you went?
very bizarre having haircuts with no chit-chat.

question: why is dd keen to wear her hat indoors for 'dressing up."
as soon as get outside, though, hat comes off as now solely for boring purpose of protection..
enjoy the sunshine, all
toodlepip

Kewcumber · 07/05/2008 12:19

I'm at my desk without even a view of the lovely weather.

Why do they wear sunglasses upside down. DS also has a cute Thomas hat to go with his spiderman glasses but both are for entertainment purposes only it seems... I blame your DD.

stepfordwife · 07/05/2008 12:36

...because they can?!
who knows what goes on in those minds..
yep, just wait until i let ds loose on dd's dressing-up box

right, this work isn't going to do itself then?
damn

fitfox · 07/05/2008 13:12

Steppy hope you claimed discount for the lack of chat? Do you fancy a quick cuppa after school run tomorrow morning?

stepfordwife · 07/05/2008 14:08

should have done, shouldn't i, foxie?
cuppa would ber lovely. but got ds1's assembly, so wouldn't be until 10ish. is that ok?

rosmerta · 07/05/2008 14:35

Quick one, does anyone know if there's parking at Dukes Meadow?

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 07/05/2008 15:04

sorry Ros no idea.

OK hands up who bumped into my mum and DS outside my sisters house in Kew this morning...

I suspect it might have been sfx from description?

sfxmum · 07/05/2008 17:15

Hi all glorious weather after Kew and obligatory tantrum mear C&C we walked by the river to the shops, dd needed sandals she got that and a Thomas ball

fo

sfxmum · 07/05/2008 17:19

steppie hope work going well

hi to everyone else

Ros if you are hosting we must bring food and drink

Mellow I think you still have some of my chick lit book no idea what they are because BIL gave me those at a couple of months before I passed them on

Paddlechick666 · 07/05/2008 18:25

yeah good luck foxie.

fyi, the sports shop next to halfords on mogden lane is closing down. massive reductions and all sorts of casual clothing/shoes as well as actual sports clothing.

got dd great neoprene hard sole sand shoes for £2.50 reduced from £8 and a Voodoo Dolls/Kangol/No Fear shorts/skirt/boardies for me. Only popped to Halfords for an adapter thingy for the cigarrette lighter

fitfox · 07/05/2008 18:51

Had luvverly picnic in Kew today with DS2 and friend. Swimming pool beckons....

Ros can you remind me were Dukes Meadow is?

SJ99 · 07/05/2008 19:12

Hi all

Yes good luck again Foxie - fingers crossed all goes well

Ros - what is Dukes Meadow?

PC - ta for tip on closing down sale, great feeling when you get a good bargain

Bunyan - no word from surveyors yet, we're going for a detailed viewing on Sat so would like the report before we head over there in case of any major probs. I'm sure you're doinag fab job with the little one, hope tomorrow will be a better day for you

After playdate we walked through Orleans Gardens for a change, then took DS to docs as he has hay fever - we'll see how he gets on with the prescription.

Going to Kew tom if anyone else fancies it

fitfox · 07/05/2008 19:15

SJ how are you feeling?

DS1 and his friend just found a dead beetle in the garden, so they buried it with a little sign above the grave, which reads RIP

fitfox · 07/05/2008 19:15

Steppy shall I text you tomorrow morning at about 10am

stepfordwife · 07/05/2008 19:22

that's fine, foxie
lol @ ds1. ds2 came home in tears the other day because someone had desecrated his spider's grave at school

good bargain-hunting, paddle
good luck with surveyors, SJ.

we've got planning permission for our work. but building plans have only just gone in. as the very nice lady at the planning dept said, we can go ahead with work before approval "at our own risk."
everyone does though, don't they?!
anyhow, will all hopefully gell together (ever the optimist..) as got small matter of choosing a builder first..oh, and an affordable one
bunyan, were you pleased with your builders?

slng · 07/05/2008 19:34

We had picnic on the climbing frame platform in our garden. We are VERY LAZY. Very relaxing. But note to self: no yogurt and honey next time ...

SJ99 · 07/05/2008 19:47

I guess that attracted the bees and flies Slng? Nice to chill out in the garden

LOL at beetle and spider graves. DS seems to be on an ant killing mission and when he sees one he asks if he can tap it (with his toe)

I'm feeling heaps better thanks Foxie - nausea seems to have gone these past few weeks (touch wood). Still have waves of tiredness but at least I can now eat pretty much what I want, yay!

SJ99 · 07/05/2008 19:48

Sfx - meant to add DD looks v. cute in bandana and necklace

Paddlechick666 · 07/05/2008 20:24

steppie my bro is a builder........

sfxmum · 07/05/2008 21:05

troublesome little girl took issue with the animals talking in her bedtime story, but mice don't talk, but goats don't talk, but giraffes don't talk.....

finally asleep

SJ thanks, glad you feel better. we went to get some sandals for dd today and she told the woman pink please, very pink maybe shocking pink
it is all lost

we might make t to Kew again tomorrow on account of not having a garden and needing open spaces but no idea of time

SJ99 · 08/05/2008 09:30

Ok, we'll prob get there around 10am and head back after lunch so text me if you're about. Have made a picnic!

rosmerta · 08/05/2008 12:15

This is where we went today: Dukes Meadow. I think it looks nicer in the photos but its still pretty good. Shallow paddling pool & sand pit, plus grassy area. And its all safe so you can leave the dcs to it! Ds had a great time there. Only thing is, cafe is good for drinks but snacks/food is generally crisps/chips etc so would take your own!

Sj, fingers crossed you get the survey soon!

Think we're going to have a lazy afternoon, have a few bits & pieces to do which won't take long & maybe a picnic tea in the garden (3rd time in a row!).

Have fun at Kew

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 08/05/2008 12:24

anyone know if Kew is doing the sandpit again this year.

slng · 08/05/2008 12:30

Ros - it does look very nice. Was it busy? Can you park there?
