when I was a kid I used to love PiPi it had subtitles and I suppose it was in the original language , fantastic fun, must look it up on youtube

once I spent ages chatting to a Spanish staff member, he was my age and we used to watch the same telly when kids

slng I try to get saturdays for myself as much as possible, but might do it another time.

we went out and dd had several mini tantrums and lots of screeching but nothing major

To begin with, I couldn't understand the league tables because I haven't gone to school here. But I've worked out what school I would like dd to go to now.

SJ - DH's mum has children's books from the 60s and 70s and we have two dilapidated copies of tomten stories from when DH was small. What's your connection with Sweden?

paddle - will be thinking of you at the airport with your friends . know it's hard - some of our close friends are in oz/NZ. not the same as seeing them as often as you'd like, but you just 'pick up" on true friendships.

No Kew, my artistic talents aren't that good. It is for an easter egg hunt type thing for the children at school to raise money, not selling it

cov there is a Easter egg hunt and usually a petting zoo and an Easter Bunny giving big choc eggs to the kids

Sounds great. We went with Quokka, MrsR and a few others to the petting zoo last year nut I didn't know about the egg hunt.

I am so exhausted! Ds2 has a "non-specific viral" (medical term, that is) infection, the symptom of which is a rash and a tantrum every ten minutes ...

Mellow - I don't understand league tables either, but I thought if I compared the three nearest schools and the figures look about the same (in the high 80s and 90s - that's not too bad is it?) then there can't be that much in it and it all comes down to a visit to the school to decide. What school have you decided on?

cov the Bunny is on Easter Sunday it is usually horribly busy with huge cues which friends by pass

about league tables I think it is just a rough picture of the school, a visit having a look at the ofsted report and talking to other parents is probably the best idea

sfx - the talking-to-parents bit is a double-edged sword: you make up your mind and then someone said something and despite the fact that you always thought he was a nutter his words stays in your mind and make you doubt your decision and sanity. So beware of talking to parents!

Paddle - your DD really reminds me of all the tantrums DD has had - mainly over which items of clothing she is wearing

Steppy - lovely to see you earlier!! Hope DS1 had a good evening at the swim! DS2 is so grown up now isn't he!

We had a nice walk in Richmond Park earlier with DD's class. Quite hard to relax though with a baby and a list of tasks to do and several DDs to supervise. She had a nice play date tonight though.

It is DS2's 1st birthday tomorrow - he will be 1!!!

Must go now and unpeel DS1 from Sky TV and get him to bed...

dd has been spewing all evening. poor grandma has had to deal with it.
