Sfx,
It's okay. Just pop by when you have time.

stepfordwife · 06/03/2008 09:59

happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy biiiiiiiiiiirthday dear foxcub.....
yes, foxie, he does indeed look very grown-up. bet you can't believe it's been a year.

lovely to see you too. think i deserve bad mummy award of the week for reeling out of your house at gone 7pm after our (luvverly) glass of cava and buying ds1 a late chip supper on the way home. felt quite naughty

ds1 enjoyed the gala, thanks. he came 6th in his heat..out of 6, so dh just told him he was "6th". back at home, he asked me;'Mum, did i come last?" cue lots of" it;s the taking part/you did your best.i'm proud of you." bless.

paddle, about your friends. hope dd is ok - and mini-SJ.why do they always get ill just before a holiday, eh?

right, better get out of the house with dd who is demanding a babyccino.what have i created?

anyhow have a fab day, everyone
toodlepip

stepfordwife · 06/03/2008 10:04

sing..can't do tree tour this sat, but sounds fab. i always feel so ignorant when my knowledge of trees stops and starts at..er, oak.
the lunch sounds even better

SJ99 · 06/03/2008 10:22

Morning all

After DS threw up a few times yesterday he slept quite well, he seems ok, has been able to keep a tiny bowl of porridge in him since 9.30am so will try and feed him little bits throughout the day. Mostly he's drinking water/milk. V much a cuddly limpet today.

If he's not well enough to travel tom then we can always try and go on Sunday instead, not like we have a plane to catch, I'd much rather he be at home if he's poorly

Paddle - sorry to hear Mini-pads not the best either. Saying bye to friends is really hard too, treat yourself to some choc & vino

Happy birthday Foxcub

Slng - hope your DS better

LOl Steppie babycino, whatever next?!

MrsRecycle · 06/03/2008 11:00

oh no sj - sorry to hear about ds. Please don't worry about him messing up the van. The first weekend I was there when we had just brought it, dd2 decided to pj vomit all over the lovely new sofa. It seems to be an initiation ceremony as the over van we had the first week we had both dds and my niece pj'ed everywhere. Also, try and get some motilium to give him. But I can understand the travelling aspect. There is a washing machine so you can wash out the sheets (and plenty of spare bedding). Hope he is better soon poor thing.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY foxcub - my df's little boy was 1 yesterday and I had a feeling foxcub was around the sametime. Have you anything planned?

pc - hope dd is feeling better soon. Sorry to hear about your dfs.

fitfox · 06/03/2008 12:47

Steppy - LOL at the "is 6th last then?" we had the same thing from DS1 at sports day a couple of years ago. His group came 4th out of 4 for the relay race. He assured me, !We came 4th Mummy, at least we didn't come last"

Thanks for the pressie Steppy

MrsR we are having a family tea party this evening when he can open his pressies and eat some chocolate caterpillar cake. It will be his initiation into junk food LOL!

He woke up this morning with a new tooth for his birthday - he now has eight!

rosmerta · 06/03/2008 13:17

hi all,

happy birthday foxcub! Hope you enjoy the chocolate cake

Sj, Paddle - hope the dcs are better

Mellow, I can sympthatise with you over the schools in Brentford, the 2 good ones are both religious! A friend of ours recently moved to Pitshanger where there's much more choice.

Ds not been himself today, we went to tumble tots but he wasn't really keen on doing anything. Think its his teeth as he keeps shoving his fingers in his mouth! He brightened up once we were home, weird child!

rosmerta · 06/03/2008 14:09

MrsR, did you get my email?

sfxmum · 06/03/2008 15:32

this is turning out to be a very long day with cranky child, nothing major but I could do with a break, let's hope dh not late today

hope everyone ok with assorted ailments getting better

slng · 06/03/2008 15:42

sfx - I sympathise. DS2 is now averaging 2 tantrums per hour (which is an improvement believe me) so I'm going to bundle them out of the house after I finish my secret bowl of cereal.

sfxmum · 06/03/2008 15:52

many thanks slng not so much tantrum but very pre tantrum iyswim, I have been handling carefully all day

best of luck with the outing

I think I will take her to bed and read a story or two

slng · 06/03/2008 18:04

Outing half success half failure - ds2 happy, ds1 had massive tantrum ...

What is an unmitigated success is boiled eggs and soldiers for tea!

SJ99 · 06/03/2008 18:43

Am pretty knackered from carrying toddler all day, hope I'm not getting the bug. DS threw up again lunchtime and was quite miserable but I did get a few smiles from him by end of the day. Fingers crossed tom will be better.

MrsR - thanks for green light to spew in caravan I'm hoping to avoid that situation though, when the vomiting stops we'll head over there prob Sat/Sun.

Sfx - hope DD is managing to keep a lid on her brewing tantrum. Ta for tip on Kew egg hunt, might do that at Easter.

Ros - hope teething not to bad now

Foxie - enjoy party and cake

sfxmum · 06/03/2008 19:57

hope those with poorly LOs have a restful night.

dh got home with yummy dessert and wine so will dispatch toddler to bed and put my feet up soon
I hope

good night all

Paddlechick666 · 06/03/2008 20:23

evening all

sj, sorry ds still poorly. dd has had a quiet day indoors with grandma and no further vomit. finger's x'd all stays that way tonight.

work is pretty crazy right now so I, selfishly, need her to go to pre-school tomorrow.

hope foxcub has had a marvelous birthday.

thanks for all best wishes regarding friends' departure. i will miss them massively and admit to being a little envious too.

kew egg hunt is a good idea, we'll try to make it. i cannot fix easter in my mind at the mo, keep getting dates wrong!

Paddlechick666 · 07/03/2008 10:24

morning all

hope everyone is enjoying the sun before the storms hit!

also hope any poorly LOs are on the mend. dd seems to have bounced back so finger's x'd!

i am going to order this www.kiddicare.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/productdisplayA_36+475_10751_-1_14573_51473_10001_14573 from kiddicare.

if anyone wants to add anything to my order let me know.

sfxmum · 07/03/2008 10:33

good morning all

hope all LO's are ok here we have 'a tissue mummy I need a tissue and medicine'

storms paddle? oh dear not been paying attention dd hijacked laptop, stupidly I showed her nick jr games page. lots of Thomas etc.

ComeOVeneer · 07/03/2008 10:43

Morning all. Hope all the lo's are on the mend, and a belated "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" to foxcub. Can't belive he is one already!

Full of cold here (again). I seem to be getting colds one after another atm. Just received my amazon order of baking books this morning, so am going to settle down with a cuppa and peruse them before I have to pick ds up from nursery.

DD went off to school as Pippi Longstocking this morning, She wasn't 100% happy with her outfit as (a) I refused to dye her hair red , (b) the pipecleaners wouldn't make her plaits stand up and (c) she didn't have a horse! There's no pleasing some people.

slng · 07/03/2008 12:49

Hot cross buns on the brew! Must go and clean up two flour-covered monsters ...

SJ99 · 07/03/2008 13:02

Hello all

Well DS seems a bit brighter today, marginally less clingy and so far has managed to keep his food down. If he goes the day without puking I think we'll head off tomorrow morning instead. Which means I have to do some packing at some point today, yay hols!

Slng - enjoy the hot cross buns, mmm

Paddle - glad DD alright. Can't believe she's in a such a grown up car seat already!

Sfx - how's the fairy princess doing?

COV - I think you're DD is right, Pippi wouldn't be complete without wacky red plaits & a horse

mellow2 · 07/03/2008 13:10

SJ,
I'm glad DS is better. Have a great holiday.

PC,
I hope DD is getting better too.

Paddlechick666 · 07/03/2008 13:14

glad to hear mini-sj is a bit better.

am very of your holiday, especially with such gorgeous weather.

dd is now totally off the charts for height & weight for her age. she is now on the 50th %centile for a 4yrd old

just come home from pre-school covered in blue paint. i am a bit as all today's work is in red paint! at least she was wearing her own clothes today. apparently wednesday was water play and she came home in some very nice osh kosh jeans.

well, we had visitors scheduled for this arvo who've just cancelled due to the LO being sick.

must be a bug.......

think a walk in crane park might be the go....

SJ99 · 07/03/2008 13:25

Meant to say that I went on Crane river walk yesterday so that DS could have a nice snooze in the afternoon, it was lovely and quiet. I got chatting to this conservationist and she said you can follow this path all the way out to Ruislip. Sadly I only made it as far as the playground before heading back for some lunch

[Shock] at Minipads growth rate! DS must've fallen off the charts in the opposite direction. He didn't really eat much the whole mth he was teething, we had 1wk of great eating and this wk he's been ill, he feels so light & weak

sfxmum · 07/03/2008 13:34

hello

cov hope books are interesting and inspirational LOL at dd's demands

slng yum must be eaten warm

SJ fairy princess decided she is tired of winter clothes and picked summer clothes, bit tricky to go out in really, she is currently spinning around to 80's soundtrack - put some loud music on mummy - guess her cold not too bad then

glad to hear ds is on the mend, hope you manage to have a nice holiday

paddle dd is still in 18-24m clothes mostly tops but she has grown taller, quite cheap
didn't even need to get her a new winter coat this year

we got our Thomas tickets in the post cue much excitement and hide tickets so they have a chance of being in one piece by the 29th

am looking at a blackberry and apple loaf recipe to keep us busy this afternoon

slng · 07/03/2008 13:42

Hot cross buns dough rising pretty fast - very warm in the kitchen. I've put it in the fridge to slow it down - is that the done thing? I won't ruin it would I? I've promised LOs hot cross buns for dinner! Is that decadent or what. After about 3 days of not eating anything they are starting to eat us out of house and home again...
