stepfordwife · 04/03/2008 17:01

sorry
not so good i had to say it twice..

stepfordwife · 04/03/2008 17:02

and paddle at your boss. eejit.
agree yoiu tell him makes you feel very under-valued, dropping strong hints that you'd hate to feel you had no choice but to take it further...

mellow2 · 04/03/2008 17:28

pc,
Your boss sounds incredibly annoying. I"m for you

rosmerta · 04/03/2008 18:56

mellow, do you go to the Brentford Toy Library? They've just had loads of new funding so its now free & they've got lots of new toys.

Paddle, know how it is to have a useless boss, am for you

Shall we organise a night out for April then?

SJ99 · 04/03/2008 19:04

Ds just been sick He drank all his milk and I ran his bath and then he was sick. Hoping it's a one off teething related and not a bug....

Sorry your boss didn't show Paddle, time for some upward feedback maybe from all the team otherwise as you point out he'll keep doing it again and again

fitfox · 04/03/2008 19:58

Mellow you can get all the league table results for the schools on the internet

Talking of beds, mine sleep in a bunk bed (well the older two do), DD is on bottom bunk and regularly rolls out of bed onto floor and just carries on sleeping

fitfox · 04/03/2008 20:00

Slng - which borough are you in? We know Preschool LA where I work - echo your comments about their accountant!!!!!!!!

fitfox · 04/03/2008 20:01

My most valued member of staff has just resigned - am feeling a bit and !!!

Paddlechick666 · 04/03/2008 20:11

evening all, thanks for moral support with the boss.

situation taken a back seat now as it would appear my washing machine has been steadily leaking and has caused a minor flood in flat below.

unfortunately it's the creepy neighbours so they've been all over my place tonight and i had to take dd into theirs.

dd happily running around flat yelling "I don't like that laydeeee mummy"

feel a bit bad as i was pretty short with them at first. then she says "oh he's a plumber and an electrician" adn i said rather rudely "oh really, last time he was a chef!"

then they're all "it's okay, the council will pay for it" then they ask if i'm council and again i very rudely say "no i'm not" in a very offended voice!

dunno what came over me, for some reason they just really push my buttons. the woman is creating a fuss like it's the bloody igazu falls in her kitchen all wailing and moaning and it's really only a trickle.

but, it's still a leak and it's my fault.

turned machine pipe off and called plumber who will come tomorrow. more expense!

at least managed to mention that they're keeping me awake most nights after midnight.

think i am must be the only owner/occupier in the block/area.

Paddlechick666 · 04/03/2008 20:13

sj, hope ds is okay. it's horrid when they're sick and you're not sure why.

dd had a spate of bad nappies again yesterday so think we're heading into teething again.

foxie, sorry to hear about the resignation. did you follow up the manchester opportunity?

SJ99 · 04/03/2008 20:47

Thanks PC, unfortunately he was sick again and it's taken me over an 1hr toget him back to sleep, poor thing. Washing m/c on now, I've a feeling I'll need more clean bedding later in the night.

Bad luck about the leak in your flat, lucky it is only a trickle and not Iguazu

Any chance you can persuade your staff member to stay on a bit longer Foxie?

slng · 04/03/2008 20:50

Foxie - what age did your ds sleep in the top bunk?

We are in Ealing but I don't know if the PLA (!?) is the local branch thing or a national thing. Whichever it is I don't think too much of their organisational skills. I might even say that I have doubts on their honesty and courage - that fees rise was done so sneakily. But it's probably just incompetence.

SJ - hope ds is OK. DS1 threw up all over his bed on Saturday night and still poorly and ran a temperature today ...

Paddle - good luck with machine and plumber!

fitfox · 04/03/2008 21:14

Pads sorry to hear about the leak - what pants. Although it gave you an excuse to talk to creepies about all the noise they make. Hope it gets sorted and is not to expensive. I didn't go to the job interview. Although it was loads money, I reckon the weather would be too cold in Manchester . LOL at your DD saying she didn't like that woman - kids are so uninhibited. A bit like when you visit friends and DCs spend the whole time saying "can we go home now, I am bored!"

Slng - sounds like the same mob to me!!!

SJ - we had just given her a payrise!!! and no, she has made her decision and wants to leave London etc etc so its part of a bigger plan for her

sfxmum · 04/03/2008 21:15

SJ hope ds feels better soon and you both get some rest.

foxie sorry about loosing staff it always takes time to re establish the dynamic.

slng not too early for hot cross buns according to dh

paddle ouch about the washing machine& neighbours not a good combination.

dh got home late but still managed to see dd awake. we had a quiet restful day indoors and she dropped off in 10mins

now will try to so some studying

SJ99 · 05/03/2008 09:16

Morning all

Thanks for concern. Well I was expecting DS to be up again during the night but I didn't hear a peep from him til 7am and he seems happy today, so fingers crossed it was a one off.

Slng - how is your DS now?
Sfx - how did studying go?

I'm excited as we're going on hols on Fri (thanks MrsR! ) My head's been so full of househunting and schools I hadn't really got into holiday mode til now. I was thinking it will be the 1st wk the 3 of us will spend together since 1st wk in Nov, how is that?

sfxmum · 05/03/2008 09:21

good morning all

SJ glad to hear ds seems fine, always such a relief
study was ok and my new book quite enticing and distracting.
did not go out this morning - freezing it was

must go out with dd somewhere don't care where it is lovely and sunny

hope you are all well

SJ99 · 05/03/2008 09:24

I think we'll have a low key day today going to park and library. Lovely and sunny even though it is freezing, brrr

slng · 05/03/2008 09:42

SJ - glad ds is find. DS1 seems also to be recovering. He's quite an easy person to look after - just sat on sofa sucking his thumb ... It's DS2 that's the problem - I've forgotten how arsy challenging toddlers are!

SushiMummy · 05/03/2008 09:58

SJ and slng - glad to hear your LOs are feeling better. Have a nice holiday, SJ!

Just found out that my close friend knows Tilda Swinton. She thought TW wasn't that famous.even more

sfxmum · 05/03/2008 10:18

slng glad to hear they are on the mend, is ds2 in nursery full time? I forget how old they are sorry.
and toddlers are quite arsy

sushi your friend sounds like my dh, completely oblivious to most celebrity stuff. he says he can't recognise actresses from movie to movie because they change so much and he hardly ever remembers any names

SJ low key here too I think, plenty of thumb sucking sitting on sofa atm while I do the morning stuff, think we will just walk by the river to the playground, plenty of puddles on the way

SushiMummy · 05/03/2008 10:31

sfx - my DH is the same - "Tilda who?".

Paddlechick666 · 05/03/2008 10:32

morning all

glad to hear the poorly LOs are on the mend.

dd occasionally sticks her thumb in but she is actually only copying me

silver lining to the leak was creepy neighbours were quiet as mice all night and i slept from 10:30pm till 4am undisturbed for first time in weeks.

unfortunately all dd's fabulous morning behaviour of recent weeks went out the window so it was 6am yelling, followed by thundering around the flat shouting, followed by much refusal to eat brekkie properly, followed by a full on tanty about which coat she was to wear.

by 8am CM drop off I felt like i'd done a day's work already and had lost the will to live.

arsy is a perfect adjective for dd today!

on the upside, CM has said she can do nursery drop off/pick up if dd does morning sessions and nursery starts at 9:30am so that could be a tricky situation resolved.

lovely CM also said that i am at liberty to drop dd off in her PJs with a bag of clothes if i ever need to!

i love my CM.

plumber came and fixed leaky washing machine tap - no charge so that's good.

best friends leave for NZ tonight so an emotional trip to the airport later.

stepfordwife · 05/03/2008 10:39

morning, all
hope you're all well
sj and sing, glad the respective offspring are rallying..

paddle, bummer about the leaky machine, but, yes, gave you an opportunity to "talk" to them, eh? they probably think you're a right posh bird as sole owner/occupier?

reminds me of a group of mums from school inviting me on their monthly meals/meet-ups and one saying i was the only posh person she liked... and at anyone thinking i'm posh..

foxie. that's a shame about your colleague. used to hate it when someone i liked left.

sushi...tilda swinton? can't you get your friend to introduce you and shde can be your new bessie mate.
fione woman, love how's got her (much older) partner/father of her twins at home while she steps out with her toyboy.
right, got loads of bloody to work to do..
toodlepip

stepfordwife · 05/03/2008 10:42

oh...quick q; how far does a pot of eye-shadow go?

A: all over the bath, all over dd's legs, bum and face...looked like she'd had an extreme fake bake..tipped me over the edge last night, i tell you...

SushiMummy · 05/03/2008 10:51

Well, friend told me when she last visited their mansion there's no sign of the toyboy. Also their twins go to Steiner's . They love Japanese food and culture so they can't be bad.
