paddle very if you move and very for you if you're forced into it..

i've no doubt you've the ability and drive to launch - and win - a 'get the toe-rags out "campaign...but it's more of a matter of have you got the appetite for it, eh? such a diversion of energy and emotonal effort, isn't it?

as i said in your other thread, i'd be tempted to sell up - as the disclosure of dispute thing is very tricky and difficult to find a way round.

would hate you to move away, though, but totally understand your reasons. ...here's to a shopping weekend in bicester

bunyan...congrats on finishing your house - bet it looks fab.

foxie, nice to see you earlier - good cappo. ds2 is growing so fast. coinicidence you're gong to the site we went to a few years back. it's fab - enjoy!

dh is on his way home from work with man-flu. groan. he's been working in poland this week, i'm jiggered and was looking forward to sitting on my arse as much as possible. god, i might have to stir myself now..

have a good evening, everyone
toodlepip

stepfordwife · 28/03/2008 16:53

ros... surely she would have understood if you'd turned up late laden down with carrier bags...

sfxmum · 28/03/2008 17:02

bunyan congratulations on the house

steppie maybe there is a gap in the market for nurses to attend to man flu a sort of no nonsense nanny

Paddlechick666 · 28/03/2008 17:33

lol @ Bicester Village Shopping expedition!

I've been so often, it can be a bit hit and miss but I got some bargains on Boxing Day this year.

I've done some school research and they're all level 3 Satisfactory which isn't great but listed as improving so that's good.

update on neighbours, been in the garden with 2 other neighbours and 4 kids in all having a bit of a jump around in the sun.

lad comes home and walks past us, 5 mins later he's out with his pitbull straining at the leash. last saw this dog jumping all over a woman with a baby the other day. so he knows we're in the garden adn he has the option of taking it out the front but he still comes past us.

i asked him if it was his and would it be living here and he said yes. told him that there are no pets allowed (true) and he said why and i just said it's in the lease. so he said he'd home it elsewhere to which i replied, great that'd be good.

then i said very loudly he'd better not let that dog crap in the garden and he shuffled off.

as my neighbour's husband says, he's meek and mild on his own but full of it when he's got his gang with him.

the music is banging away now......

more and more inclined to get out of here asap. big step tho, quite scary.

bunyan congrats on the house and at rightmove already!

i will be very to leave you all but if everyone could move somewhere lovely then we can all visit each other and keep in touch

kids found a huge puddle in the car park and they've been jumping around like nutters out there for half an hour. had to pour a pint of water out of dd's wellies!

mellow2 · 28/03/2008 17:54

Congrats on getting the house done, Bunyan. I think it's great you got the redecorating done before the baby arrived.

PC,
It sounds really stressful. You're probably right to cut your losses.

SJ,
There are viewings every week but no offers yet.

stepfordwife · 28/03/2008 18:25

paddle, good for you putting the yoof in his place. pathetic they think a snarling dog makes them look tough..
and so right about them being meek alone and full of bravado in a group..

sfx lol @ man-flu matron..think you're on to something there

stepfordwife · 28/03/2008 18:28

..oh and sorry not to comment on your bicester schools research..am in denial you're moving and have gone so far as to look into schools.
so there!

stepfordwife · 28/03/2008 18:29

..sorry contemplating moving out of the area

Paddlechick666 · 28/03/2008 18:55

i just don't feel particularly secure here anymore. it's all quiet now and things seem to be pretty normal etc but i am on tenterhooks that it's all going to kick off again at any minute.

apparently the daughter has been known to attack the mother too

think of all the expeditions you can do to visit us in our quaint oxfordshire market town

ComeOVeneer · 28/03/2008 19:09

Paddle sorry it is so crap. What a huge disappointment after finally making the decision to sort out a home for you and dd and get on with your lives. I don't know what to suggest (we had lousy neighbours before - remember the stolen trees, stealing from outside the charity shops etc?!?) but never felt intimidated by them. I guess do what you feel capable of without living n fear etc for months on end. Just a question, can a very quick buy and sell be noticed and questioned? (ie would anyone be able to pick up on the fact you only moved there a few months ago and therefore question why you are moving so soon?)

Paddlechick666 · 28/03/2008 19:20

hi cov, i'm not sure but i already have a few answers for that such as a very vague "circumstances have changed" to "lost my job!" and anything in between lol.

i must admit to feeling pretty stupid over all this. i should've taken a harder look at the Bicester option last year.......

fitfox · 28/03/2008 19:58

Paddle - don't go

It makes me really angry when anti=social people hound out decent people - it means they have won. We had someone evicted for nuisance but it was years ago and before I was a Mum. Not sure I would be quite so brave with children to consider nowadays.

Can I come and visit you in Bicester then. It would be so lovely to check out --the- shops keep in touch with you and your lovely DD.

Who is the landlord - is it Hounslow Homes? They are supposed top be pretty good actually - it would be interesting to have an off the record chat with the housing officer and find out if anyone else had complained in the past.

MrsR - just remembered your q about the brace - will post a link in a mo'

Steppy - Twas great to see you earlier too - its is such a coincidence that out of all the sites in France, you have been where we are about to head Its reassuring to know it does really exist too

Slng - what is the Afghan cafe like? Its very close to my workplace and apparently a real favourite with local staff

SFX DD is all better BTW - the temperature lasted one evening only. I am relieved that I eventually got round to getting her that booster as there is a lot of Measles about. LOL at the very idea of a Kew ganster!! Did the graffiti say "Tristram" or something?

fitfox · 28/03/2008 20:03

Paddle you can give any reason you like for moving - new job, sick parents, blah blah - no one will be able to check

MrsR - check this out:

www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/health/healthmain.html?in_article_id=509620&in_page_id=1774& ICO=HEALTH&ICL=TOPART

Paddlechick666 · 28/03/2008 20:09

lol @ tristram graffiti!

foxie i have already spoken to RHP anonymously and they confirmed there has been no complaints.

just had long chat with bro and he thinks it's a great idea for me to move closer to GPs. thinks quality of life will be much improved and he is a die-hard Portobello guy.

i am quite at myself for not exploring this more thoroughly last year.

i think tho, at the time my mortgage options were very limited and i thought i couldnt' afford it. a plus factor is that i am getting on heaps better with the parents these days than i ever have which makes it so much more palatble.

i am feeling a bit guilty about possibly landing someone else with the problem but i am also feeling quite intimidated by it all and i am such a mouth on legs that i am worried i'll get myself into more trouble by being vocal about it.

the clincher is the dog. you read so many reports of children being attacked. even my bro was adamant that i be very careful with dd around it.

i may be jumping the gun, all has been quiet the majority of the afternoon.....

note to self: make appt for dd's single jabs!

Paddlechick666 · 28/03/2008 20:11

thanks for that foxie. i've just decided that my explanation will be i have got a job offer i can't refuse.

a link to the evil diatribe that is the Daily Mail? i am at you! you run the risk of being hounded off MN you know.

sfxmum · 28/03/2008 20:15

paddle you really should not feel stupid about it these things happen everywhere am just sad it happened to you after the rough time you have been having

and about pitbulls they are a bit like Porshes in making up for certain other shortcomings
local ASBO boy has one too.

foxie that link shows yet another madameS pic every single paper in the land is run by school boys, very excitable ones too

slng · 28/03/2008 21:02

foxie - not tried the Afghan restaurant. Friend says it's nice and it opens nice and early so can bring kids to tea. Will try it one day and report. Where do you work?

Not a dog-hater but round here some people very irresponsible and walk dogs on pavements without leads and let them poo everywhere. I phoned council once and it was put down as "highway emergency" and was cleared by the next morning! Should phone more often, methinks. DS1 thinks these dogs should go to the toilet before they come out for a walk ...

Having said that I'm not a dog-hater - once a dog home charity person knocked on door and said "I'm sure you love dogs" and I said no I hate them and he looked so crestfallen DS1 and me rolled on the floor and laughed till we cried after we shut the door. Naughty but nice.

fitfox · 28/03/2008 22:43

Slng LOL at your comment to dog lover naughty thing. I work in Ealing. Who are your super-pooper-scooper council then - is it Richmond or Housnlow? I rang LBRUT about it once and they sent a man to spy on my neighbour to try and catch them at it Hee Hee

Paddle do you think your neighbours were off their heads - hence the quietness?

SFX oh I don't read the Daily Mail BTW.

Oh no.....

fitfox · 28/03/2008 22:44

...not me

sfxmum · 29/03/2008 09:28

slng LOL

foxie I don't have it bookmarked either

was talking to dd this morning about Thomas and said that the Fat Controller would probably tell Thomas that he was a really useful engine, she looked quite annoyed and was adamant she DID NOT want the Fat Controller in the show at all oh dear!

slng · 29/03/2008 09:38

foxie we are LB of Ealing, who is rubbish at everything (eg our electronic schools admission scheme requires two paper printouts to be sent to council office) except rubbish collection and recycling. What I call a rubbish council.

sfx - what's DD got against the Fat Controller?

fitfox · 29/03/2008 12:03

... apart from being very controlling?

ComeOVeneer · 29/03/2008 14:00

Surely in this day and age it is rather unPC for him to be referred to as fat as well?!?

fitfox · 29/03/2008 14:29

..although technically he could be referred to as the Clinically Obese person with controlling tendancies?

A bit like the three mice with sight disabilities?

sfxmum · 29/03/2008 16:27

Lordy toddler chanting Thomas Thomas
dd was a bit overwhelmed to start with but seems to have enjoyed herself. don't think she entirely trusts Sir Thopam Hat
