DS is always up at 6.30am. This morning he was up at 5.30 ( I think he was cold poor lamb as he dozed off in my bed) [bleary eyed emoticon]

no earthly reason why sane adults should camp. What's wrong with walls? And electricity. And running water...

SLNG - am becoming more convinced by the twins separated at birth theory by the day.

sfxmum · 20/03/2008 09:25

slng you hobbit!

thankfully dd woke up at the civilises hour of 7.30

having experiences festivals over a number of years I must say these were clean and one could sit, albeit with a covering of paper, they were not that stinky either, it's those high up with waste going into tank - just don't look down

sfxmum · 20/03/2008 09:27

what can I blame for the huge number of typos etc. on that post....

slng · 20/03/2008 09:32

sfx - are you saying I've got furry feet!!??

Paddlechick666 · 20/03/2008 10:12

I am getting excited about it all now. Quite fancy FF but am really not expecting to see much late evening stuff.

I have 2 tix so am hoping to tempt a friend to join me but if not will be doing it solo so am prepared for being back at the ranch chillin whilst dd snoozes.

Kids area sounds fab. I will just enjoy being there with dd on an adventure.

SFX, I think you are describing the traditionally known "drop bog" which are generally pretty okay as these things go.

Best used first thing and best not to look down. Also don't go back to back with anyone you know. Friend standing to wee (a boy you understand) just as shaft of sunlight turned surface into mirror and saw sister's bum

DD also waking slightly earlier the last couple of days. Mostly due to lung expelling coughing coming from neighbours IMO.

I have decided to reduce dd's pre-school sessions after easter break to one morning per week. For some reason there is always some drama when CM collects her and CM never gets the full story. One week it was a complete change of clothes after nappy overfill (wee) which was told to me as "water play". Then a total meltdown just before collection over a hair band, told to me as "bit grumpy". Yesterday it was a call two hours after collection regarding a fall from a place dd should not have been. So CM had no idea and she'd had her nap and everything

Fridays seem to be fine and I think this is due to DM having a cruisy day with dd so batteries are re-charged.

Ho hum........

Oh, guess what? Boss has cancelled meeting again

I've booked a hair appt now I have an hour free over my lunch period.

Paddlechick666 · 20/03/2008 10:14

slng, watch out for Kew. she'll start stalking you if you're not careful

Kewcumber · 20/03/2008 10:22

come meet me for lunch Paddle - its Easter lets go wild...

OP posts:
sfxmum · 20/03/2008 10:24

slng - furry feet?

paddle again? what a useless disrespectful idiot
sorry about mini pads, pre school can be hard on little ones I guess, it is great that she is settled with CM, no doubt a relief.

last year dd went to sleep at 10pm or so but had naps during the day lots of people would just sit around with quilts etc where the kids dozed then be taken back to the tents

do you think I need to book a restaurant for tonight? I was expecting to just go along and see how/ what we feel like

sfxmum · 20/03/2008 10:29

where is my chocolate?

Paddlechick666 · 20/03/2008 10:33

oooh i am tempted by lunch. hair appt at 2pm. getting a bit busy now tho. have you got your mobile? will see how the next hour or so goes.

sfx, that sounds idyllic. note to self: pack nice comfy blankets.

are you going out for dinner tonight?

boss says he's sick. i am but cannot believe i am that bad that he has to fake illness!

Paddlechick666 · 20/03/2008 10:38

my CM is fabulous. she fills in last minute and she has 2 backups that dd knows really well so they fill in if necessary. she's registered overnight too altho i would only use that as last resort but it's good to know dd could stay over in an emergency.

apparently there's an outbreak of hand foot and mouth at our pre-school so that's lovely!

foxie how is ds and his impetigo? dd had it last year very badly. god alone knows where they get it from as apparently it's rare in babies/toddlers

i read that once you've had it the virus lives in the nose (yum!) so it can easily start again when colds come. i keep a tube of savlon in dd's bag and when she's got a sore nose i dab a bit on now and then to keep any infection at bay. my GP gives A-Bs by mouth for it and they're not contagious after 48hrs of A-Bs.

Kewcumber · 20/03/2008 10:46

mobile is on but peculiarly not able to sent texts/make calls. Will email you my work number as well. I can pick up your texts though.

bum! just got roped into a 1pm meeting.

sorry

sfxmum · 20/03/2008 11:31

just had a look at weather site and they are predicting heavy snow for Sunday
surely not

where where is my chocolate

paddle just date with dh

Paddlechick666 · 20/03/2008 12:20

sfx that is just SO NOT BLOODY ON!

I put dd to bed last night with tales of the Easter Bunny and the Easter Egg Hunt @ Kew.

I will be buggered if I'm going in some freezing bloody snow storm!

I am sooooo fed up with being cold.

slng · 20/03/2008 13:45

I'm sick of being cold too paddle. And it's colder here north of the M4.

On a happier note, today is the spring solstice, so days are getting longer!

slng · 20/03/2008 13:46

I mean equinox, of course.

SJ99 · 20/03/2008 13:47

I know I just saw the weather forecast, pretty depressing. What about Egg hunt, was looking fwd to that

Paddle - too bad about your boss, it's getting beyond a joke. Pity about mini-pads and pre-school, I'm sure she'll enjoy being with CM though

I'm well excited about festival, planning on doing lots of mooching, kids camp sounds good, also not sure how much night ents we'll catch unless can persuade DS to sleep in pushchair in the evening

Sfx - any sign/smell of choc yet? Enjoy your hot date tonight

I'm dreading my appointment today at chiropodist, have visions of them saying I'll need my foot amputated or something Decided to take DS with me, he's not so keen on the mum who offered to mind him. Unfortunately his fave mum minder moved to Cheshire last wkend to start up a gardening business, completely new life ahead for them

sfxmum · 20/03/2008 14:02

unless it gets very bad or KG cancels it we will chase that Bunny dammit

as for chocs got a reply from customer services saying it was delivered by DHL at 6.3opm to someone called Wallace WTF! I was home

must track down the bstard who got my chocolates

SJ - there is this stage in the woods after sunset which is gorgeous loads of fairy lights etc. kids love it. some performing artists type people swanning about (not as annoying as it may sound)
I wish I could find a spot in the family field but doubt I will be early enough. last year we stayed i the periphery of it, just means better facilities and extra helpers about to set up your tent etc.

sfxmum · 20/03/2008 14:04

and yes slng glad days are longer but can't quite get used to sunshine at 4am

slng · 20/03/2008 14:29

I'm baking banana maple pecan bun (except no maple so use honey and no pecan but there is banana and hopefully there will be bun) and the prospect is cheering me up ...

stepfordwife · 20/03/2008 14:31

hey, i'm looking forward to a white easter.....

oh, just me then?

foxie, how's ds2 doing?

paddle, for you at your boss cancelling yet again. eejit.

no, i don't iron either. once when the, i believe this is the right term, irning borad fell out of the cupborad once, dd thought it was a "funny table."

in 13 years, have ironed a shirt for dh twice. both timdes he did them again himself. that was the end of that...

stepfordwife · 20/03/2008 14:33

sfx..missing chocolate

rosisdreamingofchocolate · 20/03/2008 14:34

Hi all,

Sfx, how dare they deliver to the wrong person? Am on your behalf! Chocolate as well!

Sj, hope your foot's ok!

Paddle, sorry about another cancelled meeting, useless bosses are the worst, I used to have one & it was a big reason I didn't go back to that job after having ds.

Have just been sorting out arrangements for starting my job, hours & childcare etc.
