do you consider war with Liverpool, and any other offended parties, a plus?

and yes looks much better maybe it was an environmental protest on account of the hole in the ozone layer

stepfordwife · 18/03/2008 18:36

(..much as i hate) to be fair, he did make a grovelling apology...maybe it was political rather than from the heart, granted..
he reminds me of prince philip..

at fiona shackleton's indent of the ozone layer

Have not seen news today yet, will look out for drowning

Can someone tell me if the shops in Kingston will be open on Fri? Have not been in UK for past 5 Easter's and don't know what the form is. I'm guessing the big shops will be open for limited hours, is that right?

Tried to have a decadent moment earlier. Made myself some yummy hot choc with marshmallows in it, sat down with a mag just as DS decied to wake from his nap, typical!

fitfox · 18/03/2008 19:02

Tee Hee Hee at the hairstyle dig!!

Didn't Heather look an absolute fright though, in that clown get up!!

Boris will be really funny and his policies might not be as scary as some of Red Ken's. I do harbour an affection for Ken, 'cos I kind of grew up with him and the free GLC concerts on the Thames and he lurves the Irish of course (even when everyone else hated us), but politically he can be a bit of a Stalinist sometimes. (Think - sky scrapers along the Thames, think LDA funding etc Eeek!)

fitfox · 18/03/2008 19:10

Oh and while I have the wooden spoon out, I remember Lee Jasper from his Southwark days, in the early 1990's - there were very similar allegations about him then too.

Coincidence?

sfxmum · 18/03/2008 19:34

doesn't he just have a way with the laydeez

does Boris have policies? can he find his office? are those bad things? Pimms all round.

SJ I am not sure about Kingston being open but I guess most shops will do Sunday opening hrs.
yum yum hot choc. my chocolate order has not arrived yet

sfxmum · 18/03/2008 19:35

steppie @ prince Philip

slng · 18/03/2008 19:48

No Boris. What's he doing on our patch anyway? I thought he's Henley, and he looks it. Has he got a limo carting his school bags when he's on his bike like that Cameron person? At worst I'll vote for that Lib Dem fellow, but he said "ourselves" to refer to himself so not sure about him too...

SJ99 · 18/03/2008 20:26

Boris' campaign should give us a laugh at least, we'd be laughing with him obviously and not AT him

fitfox · 18/03/2008 20:35

"ourselves" - does he have a split personality or something?

slng · 18/03/2008 20:40

It's worrying isn't it Foxie. Imagine multiple mayors!

I think we should vote for anyone who can extract all that unpaid congestion charges from the American embassy.

sfxmum · 18/03/2008 20:44

slng dangerous pinko talk you will get us all bombed (by Gordon obviously)

rosisdreamingofchocolate · 18/03/2008 20:47

I remember working with someone who thought Boris was, in her words, 'quite sexy' . Honestly, there's no accounting for taste in some people!

So what's the choices for Mayor? Ken Livingstone, Boris Johnson or Brian Paddick

sfxmum · 18/03/2008 20:48

to be fair there is a wide choice of candidates not just those 3 see here

there is the nice Green lady
the obligatory anti congestion candidate
UkIP BNP
Christian alliance etc

rosisdreamingofchocolate · 18/03/2008 20:53

ahhh, thanks sfx, was getting worried for a minute! Obviously I need to keep my politics more up to date

sfxmum · 18/03/2008 20:55

bet those first 3 are sounding quite good and sensible by now

rosisdreamingofchocolate · 18/03/2008 21:11
Grin
sfxmum · 18/03/2008 21:14

dd decided she would only eat broccoli at dinnerhow we protested

slng · 18/03/2008 21:21

Ros - my friend overheard girls on the tube saying Michael Portillo was sexy! Now that's something ...

So nominations still open eh? All we need is a London Independent Party candidate. Passports required to enter M25. Have our own currency, even.

stepfordwife · 18/03/2008 22:23

..well, if we're talking weird crushes..
not sure it is weird...but...
i'm having very warm feelings towards matey from willy wonky's chocolate factory...could be just the chocolate connection, of course

funnily enough, drawn towards him as reminds me of my other current "secret" crush - marco pierre white - lo and behold, sunday night's programme revealed they are old friends...

int-er-esting.....

have you spotted the link? all my crushes have something to do with food. funny, that.

enough....

stepfordwife · 18/03/2008 22:27

sj..no they weren't tarot cards, just a normal deck, had to think of a question while shuffling cards seven times..

(i found this very demanding at the same time, i can tell you, especially trying not to move my lips when i was thinking of my question..)

does this sound plausible? not that i'm sulking because i didn't get the "right" answer, of course

how frightening for you your prediction coming true. do you never do them at all? what about for yourself?

stepfordwife · 18/03/2008 22:28

...at least i've moved on from face of bo, i suppose..

stepfordwife · 18/03/2008 22:38

..and foxie, heather's 'clown" get-up was vivienne westwood, dahling...thought i'd tell you that being a former (nearly) westwood muse and all..

right, i'll stop talking to myself now and go and do something more productive

sfxmum · 19/03/2008 08:26

good morning all

lovely sunny day BUT dd up at 6am
well I legged it out of the house as soon as I could, left dh to deal with cranky toddler over breakfast

SJ99 · 19/03/2008 09:13

sfx, good strategy

Thinking of heading to Kew this morning to make the most of the sunshine as rain forecast for later & tom

Steppie - which version of Willy Wonka are you talking about?

I NEVER do the tarot cards anymore, I think I'd much rather not know what is going to happen and leave it up to fate and all that. I used to do readings for myself and for friends. I'm fascinated by palmistry too. I beleive in all that stuff but it can get creepy.

I saw clown get up, reminded me more of circus ring master
