Right have hung up one load of laundry, put in another, made beds and unloaded dishwasher. Can now browse on here a while longer.

Guess it must be a bug then foxie. Hope it is a shortlived one.

ComeOVeneer · 18/03/2008 09:55

Sorry I misread it as ds2 was sick in the night, then ds1 was sick this morning. Perhaps it will just be isolated to him then(fingers crossed)

Kewcumber · 18/03/2008 10:57

foxie have a small bag with some trousers DS has grown out of and the food items we discussed. WIll drop off after CM pick up this evening (won't stay in case vomming is contagious )

Ros, congrats on the job, that's great!!!! Am quite envious! When do you start? SJ, did you have a good hols (apart from initial sickness)? Hope yr toe is ok, thank you for sparing us the details

sfxmum · 18/03/2008 12:08

bunyan you just reminded me that you featured in one of my dreams last night.
strangely you and lemonaid where sitting across from each other, with big bellies and respective dhs, in some sort of church hall

truly bizarre

Kewcumber · 18/03/2008 12:31

have I said yet that you're wierd sfx?

OP posts:
sfxmum · 18/03/2008 12:33

moi? weird?

slng · 18/03/2008 12:47

Who's weird? I hope it's not contagious.

stepfordwife · 18/03/2008 12:48

hello everyone
how you diddling?
sfx....another vote for downright weird here

ros, congrats on job you'll love it. there's no answer to the guilt thing..the thing is the guilt and responsibility evolves as they get older, so at least you don't get bored
my boys play at that ground and dh is a coach

foxie, hope ds1 gets better soon. i packed ds1 back to school today as there's absolutely zilch wrong with him. think he was just tired from being allowed to stay at late at my ma's at weekend!

have just been at my neighbour's house eating chocolate croissants and having my cards read
think i mananged to convince dh it ws all work-related
talking of....

SJ99 · 18/03/2008 13:01

Were you having tarot card readings Steppie? I used to do them a lot when I was younger but stopped when one of my predictions came true and it was bad thing that happened to a friend - freaked me out. Choc croissants are more up my street these days

Have you been to docs with neck/breast pain Sfx?

Have booked into chiropodist for Thurs afternoon, am hoping one of playgroup mums can look after DS as it might be easier if he didn't come with me

Thanks for asking Bunyan, holiday worked out in the end, we were sad to leave on our last day. How are you feeling and how are the house rennovations going?

rosisdreamingofchocolate · 18/03/2008 13:07

hi all, I start in a couple of weeks, so quick! One full day & 3 afternoons so not too bad, will still be able to do stuff in the morning with ds and then drop him off. I am looking forward to it, if only to get a proper lunch break without someone grabbing my food!

Sj, echo bunyan, thanks for no details but seriously, hope your toe's ok!

Sfx, hope the pain doesn't get any worse, might be worth checking it out with the dr

sfxmum · 18/03/2008 13:18

ros/sj/foxie no doctor yet I have a terrible relationship with doctors but it is becoming unbearable and costing me sleep.

ros I have been thinking about work more than ever but I can't see going back to old job as I don't see it being flexible enough particularly with dh's long hrs. I think it is because one of my friends just got back although she is not having an easy time, my old boss also asking if I am thinking of going back.

and dd still not keen on going out fine at weekend fine with dh yesterday just not budging today, it is becoming a thing.

sfxmum · 18/03/2008 13:22

dd is playing with her toys the pig the billy goat and the T-Rex they are talking about living in a farm versus living by the river and how to jump on mummy's computer

  • oh no I think she would be cross
SJ99 · 18/03/2008 13:27

Sfx - maybe you can ask to see a different doctor if you don't like the one you have? Or is it doctors in general you don't like?

I know what you mean though, I hate going unless I absolutely have to. Hence problem with the toe, probably should've gone last year but as I wasn't in any pain I didn't bother, but now I don't think I can put it off any longer!

I've stopped looking for jobs, I will give the exam marking go and see how that works out. It will probably be 1wk/mth but I just won't know exact dates or which papers I will be marking until a few weeks beforehand. It means I can try and do something for myself but hopefully won't compromise the time I have with DS

What sort of work would you be looking for Sfx?

sfxmum · 18/03/2008 13:32

SJ I like my doctor just fine just not when I have some sort of health complaint.
as for work I used to manage care homes or manage the managers of care homes or put packages together to fund a new project that sort of thing often unpredictable work.
No idea how to do it with a child, very long hrs, emergency calls, being oncall for a whole week 24/7. must think of alternatives

fitfox · 18/03/2008 14:00

sfx I bet its a post BF thing you have - get it checked

QC - DH will be there today - and thanks!

Kewcumber · 18/03/2008 14:02

I luuuuurrve going to doctors. They have to listen to me and are much more sympathetic than my mum. But then I had regualr medical procedures growing up so maybe I see them as a "normal" part of life.

Do you think think your issue with doctors is tied up with your mum being ill sfx? [deep thoughtful emoticon]

ComeOVeneer · 18/03/2008 14:06

Wellclean and tidy house. Laundry done, just had a soak in the bath, face mask and a cold glass of white wine , how decadent is that? Now have 4 hours to myself before the children return. May start painting the utility room. I'm not good at sitting around doing nothing, have lost the ability since having children .

sfxmum · 18/03/2008 14:10

KC obviously going to the doctor precedes rapid decline in heath followed by death - think cartoon character walking off a cliff, all fine until he looks down.
am sure it is likewise losing weight, I usually go through a period of panicking about general health, as it clearly cannot be because of healthy heating and exercise but something far more sinister LOONY!

I actually dealt quite well with this past the crisis period, all those years of therapy were really worthwhile

slng · 18/03/2008 14:11

I love sitting around and doing nothing. I think I'm a world expert in that and should get an award of some sort. Must go and nap now!

Kewcumber · 18/03/2008 14:14

I think you and I were twins separated at birth slng. Have checkd your profile - the liekness is uncanny

am I the only one highly amused that Boris looks like becoming our next Mayor?

stepfordwife · 18/03/2008 18:02

sfx, i've been giggling about that one too since he announced he was running..
don't agree with his politics, but reckon he'll be a hoot. certainly won't be dull
and, yes, get thee to a doctor, woman. sounds like maybe milk duct blockage /infection (dr stepford..what do i know?!)

stepfordwife · 18/03/2008 18:11

dear sweet jesus..i swear that dfs1 and his hoework is going to drive me over the edge...

oh, another random thouught...
who else reckons paul mccartney's lawyer looked better AFTER lady mucca had thrown the glass of water over her?! there's only so much bouffant a grown woman should indulge in...
