We have a backcarrier but DS has never liked going in it which is a shame. Trailer might be agood alternative

Am annoyed, can't find my phone charger and am down to my absolute segment of battery. Havea sneaking suspicion I may have left it in caravan.
MrsR - any sign of it when you were there? It was plugged in my the small coffee table. Otherwise DH may have packed it but he's gone now. Will have to go to Orange shop tom & see if they will recharge for me

Paddlechick666 · 17/03/2008 17:37

trailer looks cool but pricey and wouldn;t be a long term thing for us.

i use the ergo soft structured carrier and dd loves it. ds might enjoy it more now he's a bit older sj?

what sort of charger do you need?

SJ99 · 17/03/2008 18:13

Panic over, just found charger in spare room, phew.

I used to carry him all the time in front carrier til 6-8mths old. DH tried him in metal frame back carrier last summer but he wasn't up for it. Maybe he didn't like the height or restricted freedom. We haven't tried it since. It was hand me down from DH's mum's cousin and is quite old, don't even know what make it is, may give it another go now he's bit older as you say. Ergo ones look soooo much comfier though, lucky mini-pads

rosisdreamingofchocolate · 17/03/2008 20:21

evening all, dh out enjoying St Patrick's Day so I've come to bed with the laptop to attempt some studying but I do have a couple of episodes of ANTM so hmmm, what do I do?!

Am very of you all going to Latitude etc, dh not really into music or camping so can't see that happening for us.

And one more thing to add...

I GOT THE JOB!!!

sfxmum · 17/03/2008 21:02

WOW Ros congratulations

now must try and study some, that is what I was actually doing this afternoon

Paddlechick666 · 17/03/2008 21:13

well done Ros! what will you be doing then?

rosisdreamingofchocolate · 17/03/2008 21:18

Just admin stuff for a rugby club, updating website, booking hotels for away matches etc but its part time & very very local. I'm so excited and, sadly, am feeling guilty about being so excited! I'm such a weirdo at times.

MrsRecycle · 17/03/2008 21:20

CONGRATS Ros - am so pleased for you - sounds a lovely job.

sfxmum · 17/03/2008 21:30

why feeling guilty? it is lovely and seems like a good route back to work - well done

rosisdreamingofchocolate · 17/03/2008 21:36

hard to explain sfx, I guess its just guilt about being excited when it means longer hours in nursery for ds! But I know I'm just being stupid and once we're all settled it will be fine

well done on the studying btw, I've not managed anything yet!

fitfox · 17/03/2008 21:45

Ros - many congratulations M'Dear!!! Work is wonderful - you get paid to sit down all day!!

Steppy - glad you had a fabby time - Happy Anniversary to you both

Melow - Yes it would be lovely to see you - how about on Saturday arvo??

Paddlechick666 · 17/03/2008 21:47

foxie speaks truth, and go to the loo on your own! it's liberating.

d'you get free tix.

oh! a rugby theme, dare i mention what happend on Saturday again

rosisdreamingofchocolate · 17/03/2008 21:49

thanks for the support, I know I'll love it once I start & ds is settled!

Paddle - can you guess which rugby club it is?

sfxmum · 17/03/2008 21:52

oi leave it paddle

ros actually it is easy to understand, dd is not even in nursery yet and I am planning on how/ when to extend to full time if I can't get pregnant any time soon, or ever again really, and just go back to work
it is practical sensible planning but I fell odd about it

think am done for now with the studying there is a book to be read.

rosisdreamingofchocolate · 17/03/2008 22:00

I wasn't sure I could explain it here but obviously I can!

Kewcumber · 17/03/2008 22:27

oooh my new bessie friend Ros! actually a very old friend referees for their junior matches. Such good news. You will hate leaving DS in nursery for a little longer for the first week or so then you will both settle down and I'll bet you both love it.

Why Paddle, what happened on Saturday then?

OP posts:
Paddlechick666 · 17/03/2008 22:40

grin]

mellow2 · 18/03/2008 08:37

Congrats, ros!

I'm quite . I would like to go back to work and I understand what you mean about the conflict between wanting to work and wanting to spend more time with dd.

mellow2 · 18/03/2008 08:38

What were you on Sat, PC? [nosey emoticon]

mellow2 · 18/03/2008 08:40

Forgot what I said, PC. Brain is not working this morning. .

fitfox · 18/03/2008 09:02

Top of the Mornin' to you All!!

We had a bit of foul language here at midnight last night when DS1 sat up and vommed all over the bed - Alien style. DH found him and had to clear up. He swore very loudly (clearly hoping I would wake up and offer to help) but I just couldn't hear!!!

Have to stay here with DS's while DH takes DD to school, then go into work and do a day of staff appraisals (much easier than clearing up sick)

SJ99 · 18/03/2008 09:17

Good morning

Congrats Ros, I had a feeling you would get the job, well done When do you start?

Foxie - sorry to hear about vomfest, hope it's an isolated incident

Off out soon to meet some friends. Also need to get to chiropodist as one of my toenails which I stubbed last year is rapidly deteriorating - I'll say no more in case you're eating brekky

sfxmum · 18/03/2008 09:30

good morning all

foxie congrats on the selective hearing strategy - poor DS hope he feels better today

had a weird night where even the stretches when I slept where plagued by nightmares and odd dreams- yuck

if anyone remembers my nipple problem, that went away to be replaced by pain in the breast, it is freaking me out adding to the shoulder/ neck pain I have been having for the past week it is making me crazy

anyway best get dd out for a walk need some fresh air, but have little energy

ComeOVeneer · 18/03/2008 09:36

Morning all. Dull day of housework/laundry beckons me . DS is at nursery until 3.30pm then a playdate until 6pm, dd has a playdate after school so not back until 6pm to, so really no excuse not to get stuck in, but can't be arsed . Need to get it all done today though as have to start on mmy mother's cake tomorrow so it is ready by friday evening.

Congratulations on the job Ros. I know what you mean about being torn in wanting something for yourself and feeling it is taking away from lo's. But PT is the best of both worlds and it is amazing how quickly little ones settle and adapt. If the job is good for you it makes you a happier/more fulfilled person then ds will reap the benefits too.

Sorry to hear ds2 is poorly Foxie. Hope it is now out his system and he is on the mend. Right I will hid on here for a wee bit longer then must be productive.

fitfox · 18/03/2008 09:51

Hiya

Have to keep DS1 off school now as he vommed, so he is lying on sofa having a TV-Fest. Its sure to make him feel better anyway.

SFX did you ask your GP about your boobie/shoulder pains? The fact that it hurts is a good sign isn't it, as its more likely to be an infection than anything more sinister, but hope you get it checked out and dealt with.

Paddle how are your neighbours now then? have they quientened down since you had a word?

Ros when do you start your new job?

CoV - Get Thee off here and go and do some laundry!!
