Cov, that looks great! Will definitely be up for that, we might get a sneaky peek in and go on Monday though!

Ds has only just gone to sleep, was starting to think he wouldn't have a nap today, typially on the day when dh isn't home tonight due to bloody St Patrick's Day

ComeOVeneer · 17/03/2008 14:09

That is a pity ROS, I would invite you over for tea on Monday but I'm not sure what time I will be returning from my parents

sfxmum · 17/03/2008 14:14

so if your connection to Ireland is really to Northern Ireland are you allowed to celebrate or is that not done?

dh&dd are out - lovely now what to do?

stepfordwife · 17/03/2008 14:37

happy st patrick's day!
(and it's my anniversary)

hope all well

sorry if missing anything of import, but will catch up on thread later,,
had a lovely time, but could have done with two nights away...not sure what the brood babysitters ma and my sis would have thought of that, tho takes a while to relax though, doesn't it?

well, dh had tickets for the ireland-england match, but sold them due to weekend away. glad now..

and congrats, kew. btw, saw your lovely ds this morning and he's getting so tall! (er, congrats onm the grand slam, tyhat is, not your ds getting tall...)

foxie, hope you're feeling better, m'dear. bet the floorboards look fab

well, dh and i were going to go out for an anniversary lunch today. but..

  • dh had a work crisis, so had to go in.early this morning..but
  • came home in time to go out to lunch, but... *school rang saying ds1 not feeling well..

so couldn't go and, btw, ds1 is absolutely fine, think he's just tired. ach well!
toodlepip

Kewcumber · 17/03/2008 14:42

thanks for the congratulatiosn on us WINNING THE GRAND SLAM.

DS was sooo clingy this morning (has been like it all week - wrapped his arms around my neck and sobbed at drop off . If it hadn;t been for the fact that the otehr mindees mum dropped off at the same time and came out after me and said he was fine even 5 seconds later I would have been really worried. I think it was an exciting weekend for him all round and I'm convinced her thinks I go off and have an exciting time going to parties and eating cake without him.

yeah, did anyone notice the Welsh won on Saturday?

Kew, funnily enough we had a lovely drop off this morning. First time in ages that dd hasn't cried her eyes out. She was such a happy thing this morning it was lovely.

Can't believe I had to forcibly (ie: call her name, stroke her face, jiggle her arm et) wake her up this morning.

can thoroughly recommend the RFH for a indoor run around when weather on South Bank is foul.

SJ99 · 17/03/2008 14:55

What's RFH?

Yes, congrats to the Welsh, Happy St Patrick's day to those celebrating, and Happy anniversary Steppie

sfxmum · 17/03/2008 15:10

SJ royal festival hall in fact all of the south bank is great for kids.

happy anniversary Steppie

was saying to a few of you yesterday, probably to all since was quite tired, dd has also been super clingy even refusing dh for some of the things he usually does with her. seems better this week.

foxie hope you feel better why does it always happen on annual leave?

stepfordwife · 17/03/2008 15:13

thanks sfx
ahem, can we stop talking about the welsh now please when it's st patrick's day

tia

stepfordwife · 17/03/2008 15:13

st patrick's day

Paddlechick666 · 17/03/2008 15:22

happy anniv steppie! sorry your lunch was scuppered but glad you had a good weekend.

point taken about St Patrick's Day but y'know you get one every year. This is only the 10th time in 100 years

stepfordwife · 17/03/2008 15:24

paddle, i'd like to say fair point, mate. but....
you're mistaking me for a reasonable person

mellow2 · 17/03/2008 15:30

Happy Anniversary steppie.

Paddlechick666 · 17/03/2008 15:30

i did find a Happy St Patrick's day in Gaelic phrase earlier and sent it to a load of mates on MSN.

am i forgiven now?

SJ99 · 17/03/2008 15:39

10/10 for effort Paddle

RFH - should've figured that one out, d'oh. Yes, great place for run around along with the Tate. I might try and go there again when weather improves

DS also going through clingy phase, trying times...

Will try and get tickets for Latitude this week Sfx - how big is festival?
Also trying to get tickets for Bandstand gig but not sure when next lot of tickets go on sale

mellow2 · 17/03/2008 15:40

Foxie,
I need to return your books to you. Can I do it sometime this weekend?

Sfx,
I can return yours to you when you come round.

QC,
We're around this weekend but will be busy finishing up a website we're building.

Paddlechick666 · 17/03/2008 15:41

oooh yeah SJ, get tix! lineup being announced on Weds eve.

i am about to invest in this www.outdooraction.co.uk/acatalog/EASY_CAMP_SAN_REMO_400_TENT__2007_.html as fully expect H's offer of campervan not to materialise!

SJ99 · 17/03/2008 15:47

Tent looks cool! Think we'll have to squash ourselves into our 2man tent, think we'll wait to see if DS actually likes camping before buying a family size tent

Paddlechick666 · 17/03/2008 15:53

dd won't have any choice lol. she had her first camping trip at 9m.

don't all kids love camping tho?

Kewcumber · 17/03/2008 15:55

Steppie - this in nothing, you just wait until we win the world cup...

PS no such thing as a cool tent.

OP posts:
sfxmum · 17/03/2008 16:21

yes SJ get tickets and maybe we can dump the kids with the menfolk and go out dancing they have great dj's till late

the whole point is that it is so family friendly manageable size and very diverse - ok is that sold? don't have to come dancing

love the tent we got a cheap one from Halfords last year which I am kinda hopping my sister damaged when she borough it so I have an excuse to get a proper tent

sfxmum · 17/03/2008 16:23

or even borrowed it too much excitement still keeping fingers crossed old Leonard will headline the first night
that should send the kids to sleep

Paddlechick666 · 17/03/2008 16:26

yeah i guess i should go for a cheapie from halfords or decathlon but i reckon i'll be doing a lot of solo putting up so hopefully spending a bit more will mean i get something easy in that dept!

and breathe, wonder if i could've made that sentence longer.

if Cohen is headlining then dd can kiss going to bed anytime before he gets off the stage!

am hoping to get away without taking my buggy and just use the backpack which might not be too conducive to letting her snooze.

ho hum.........

mind you, she's too big to sleep in her buggy now anyway. dilemma over!

SJ99 · 17/03/2008 16:30

Am up for dancing, hope I get tickets now, I'm getting too excited & carried away.
Not sure how DS will sleep, will cross that bridge when I need to, LOL. Think will need to bring pushchair as at least that is a means for him to sleep

sfxmum · 17/03/2008 16:32

Last year there were loads of these and those bike trailers which convert into pushchairs mountain buggy type
had terrible envy
