Hello 2under2! Sorry no experience of Isleworth (or anywhere) toddler groups. Are you checking them out for when baby arrives? I was lucky enough to have my mum with us for the first 6 weeks of ds2 arriving. After that we mainly stayed at home - at least then ds1 had all his toys at his disposal and no other children to have to "share" them with. But then ds1 has always been quite happy playing on his own so I guess whether toddler groups are useful or not depends on personality of toddler ...

Paddlechick666 · 17/03/2008 10:04

twounder, Redless 1 o'clock club is okay. Good outside space and lots of ride-ons. Plenty of toys inside if a bit shabby.

It's big enough for a toddler to enjoy but not so big (a la CPC) for a pregnant mummy to have to keep running around after toddler LOL.

no experience of babyzone I'm afraid.

Kewcumber · 17/03/2008 10:16

is steam museum suitable for a 2 yr old? Its very close to me so could be an option if the weather is bad. If weather is good we will go check out the gioant bunnies at KEw (just how big are they? Don't want to scar DS for life) The little travelling petting zoo is at Kew in April DS loved it last year so hope for good weather.

hello good morning

had a lie in as dh around just checking in before a bit of a jog

hi twoU2 no experience of Iselworth a I said before, hope you are well

as for the Kew Steam dd likes it a lot, it is mostly for grown ups with all the gorgeous steam machines etc but they provide toys for the kids in the mail hall. the little steam engine (and I mean little) does little rides outside whenever there are sufficient numbers.

this Easter, on Saturday we have a family birthday and Sunday we are off to Kew, come rain or shine, for the Egg Hunt.

hope everyone ok today

fitfox · 17/03/2008 10:33

Slng - LOL at ELC conversation; its amazing what you end up doing when you have small children isn't it?

SJ - Thanks for asking. Chubba is still a wee bit scabby but I think Fucidin is working slowly. His finger is infected too (he keeps shutting it in things) so am Fucidining that as well.

I still have a very sore throat and was painting the floor again at 6.30am to get in finished before monsters DCs awoke. I'm glad I did as it should be OK to walk on by about 2pm.

Sorry I missed some of you yesterday
Its a bit Grotsville here atm.

On Easter Day we will be doing Kew Gardens Egg Hunt about 10.30am, before it gets too busy, as long as its not raining.

QC your DC may be too young unless he has a passion for trains I guess. When DS1 was about his age I made the mistake of taking him to several places he was too young for really (inlcuding Disneyland Paris which was the worst holiday of my life - think freezing cold weather, Disneyland's sadistic street furniture, vomiting bug, 11 hours on coach, morning sickness with the only food available being Disneyland junk food, and - to top it off, bleeding piles and you have the summary)

Oh Good Morning everyone !!

Like the name Roschocs

Note to self: remember to buy the children some Easter eggs

sfxmum · 17/03/2008 10:45

slng about the Thomas trains, you probably know that but ECL stock different sizes and they don't all fit in the tracks you may have - as I found out at some point.

slng · 17/03/2008 12:12

How many visits to the nurse does it take to vaccinate everybody!!?? As it is DS2 got to just sit around while I'm told that he's too ill to be vaccinated. TOO ILL!!?? When do they EVER NOT HAVE A RUNNY NOSE!!?? I'm so fed up... But obviously can't insist, can I now. Tell me I'm a rubbish mother.

I've had enough. We are having fishfinger sandwiches for lunch. Hopefully we have enough bread ...

sfx - luckily Mighty Mac fits on our tracks. At least somebody's happy.

Kewcumber · 17/03/2008 12:21

I checked when DS was due his mmr as he had a slgiht cold. Nurse told me that provided he didn't have a temperature it was fine (and it was)

OP posts:
sfxmum · 17/03/2008 12:34

slng my GP said the same as KC unless there is a temperature it is ok.

Paddlechick666 · 17/03/2008 12:39

the single shot clinic say the same btw.

oh and sorry to sfx and kew for scaring your dc yesterday as I loomed into view with my hood up due to the rain.

my friend finally got home at 11pm in a taxi and the recovery guys picked up the car this morning!

slng · 17/03/2008 12:40

Kew, sfx - that's what I thought and what my experience was and what I've been told on many occasions. Obviously we have a very cautious nurse. I'm going to stop thinking about it now. Otherwise I'll scream.

fitfox · 17/03/2008 12:59

Ditto about the jabs and temperature.

HAPPY ST PATRICK'S DAY EVERYONE!!!!!!!

MrsRecycle · 17/03/2008 13:06

lovely to see you all at party yesterday. When I got back ds was asleep on dh's shoulders - so some nice male bonding had been going on.

sj - glad you had a nice time at van - we had a lovely weekend thanks.

KC - even if you don't want the AP, can I still babysit your ds? He is the most adorable 2 year old around. Mind you, I think his climbing skills have just rubbed off on ds - I put my handbag on the table, ds, climbed on a chair, then climbed on the table and preceeded to empty my bag and purse and talk to someone on the phone. Little monkey...Steam museum might be a bit too old for ds - lots of steam engines (there is only one train) and explanations of how things work.

Talking of dirty weekends, we're off on one this weekend - dropping LOs at my parents (they hardly have them) for their annual Easter visit and dh and I are heading up to Harrogate (never been there before - staying in a MN recommend hotel) so hope the snow doesn't descend on us as threatened.

pc - did you book Tenerife? - I love it there and so child friendly. We try and go at least once a year.

ComeOVeneer · 17/03/2008 13:07

Morning all. We are off to my parents over the easter weekend for mum's 60th birthday bash, but am keen on doing something over the actual school holidays in a couple of weeks.

For those of you who's LOs are keen on trains why not come down to me one Sunday (first of every month), and we can take them here. It is literally at the bottom of the road and you can take a picnic, entrance is free (just £2 for 1 ride or £5 for unlimited rides).

ComeOVeneer · 17/03/2008 13:30

Have you lot been partying without me? I ended up driving to IL's with just enough food for those who were there, we had a fairly brief lunch then came home in time for dh to watch the footy here rather than stay there as planned (MIL was surprised/not happy we didn't stay but I said "well seeing as you aren't up for visitors I think it is best we leave early especially as lo's have school/nursery tomorrow")

Have sent dh with a huge box of cupcakes to work (always good to butter up the boss ).

Kewcumber · 17/03/2008 13:32

oh lord DS would wet himself at the sight of that train. I would never get him off! WOuld love to come over when the weather is a bit warmer.

MrsR - isn't he lovely though I thought your girls were very sweet with him. Sadly I can take virtually no credit for his loveliness He got hold of the mini box of smarties when we got home and when I tried to persuade him to give me some and divert a few for another day, I swear he growled at me! .

OP posts:
sfxmum · 17/03/2008 13:36

COV dd just shriek at the sight of those trains definitely a day out for us at some point.

paddle they got so scared by you that I was forced, forced I tell you to pacify them with chocolate

happy Saint Patrick's Day

SJ99 · 17/03/2008 13:37

Looks good COV, I'm sure DS would love that, let me know when you're going

Not to worry Paddle, glad you had good lunch.

Slng - too bad about jab. I picked up a new Thomas book for £1.50 at charity shop the other day, what bargain. Mrs R- think I'm going to have to buy Thomas dvd as Ds keeps asking the watch the one he saw at the caravan

No idea what we're doing over Easter other than going to Kew egg hunt

Hi 2under2. Do you mean kidzone place? Never been but a pregnant friend of mine goes every wk as she says it's the only place she can sit down and have cake while her 2yr old runs around, it's small enough she doesn't have to chase her. Must try it sometime.

Went to park in Strawberry Hill which we hadn't been to since last summer, DS loved it and stayed ages and insisted on walking all the way back so took a long time to get home

fitfox · 17/03/2008 13:42

I SAID HAPPY ST PATRICKS DAY

MrsRecycle · 17/03/2008 13:45
