Hello all, I am new on here so forgive me if I've crashed your conversation.

I am local to Isleworth, have a 15 month old baby boy and another (a girl we think) due beginning of April. Argh!! Am thinking of trying out the Babyzone playcentre and Redlees One o clock clubs to keep my little boy entertained whilst I deal with newborn. Have any of you any thoughts on these places.. or any advise on coping with two babies under two!

Kewcumber · 11/03/2008 16:06

oooh dear haven;t any advice at all on eihter of thsoe two questions. Isleworth questions should be addressed to Paddle Bunyan and Rosmerta.

I only have the one DS aged 2.3 so no experience of 2 under two either!

popular locations for meet-ups with the rest of us locally are Kew Gardens (particularly in good weather and when they have a giant sandpit mediterranean theme. Lollipop club in London Welsh. I quite like Childs play cafe in Kew.

twounder2 · 11/03/2008 16:09

thankyou. Where abouts is the childs play cafe in Kew - we're not too far off the A4??

Kewcumber · 11/03/2008 16:15

Its at the end of Dukes road very close to A$ - you can park in Chiswick house car park during the week and walk under teh underpass its quite clsoe to that. You can park in the school car park at weekends.

that looks fabulous Kewcumber - will try it out for sure this week. Thanks

mellow2 · 11/03/2008 17:05

Hi twounder2.

bunyanvillas · 11/03/2008 17:14

Hi Twounder, I'm in Isleworth with 3 year old dd plus one on the way, due in April. I haven't tried out Kidzone yet but someone told me today that it's quite good so if you ever fancy meeting up there then let me know. The one o'clock club at Redlees is not bad and otherwise I tend to do the usual - Marble Hill, Kew Gardens etc etc. Ooh Ros, good luck with the job!!

twounder2 · 11/03/2008 19:27

Hi Mellow2, and Bunyanvillas, thanks for the reply. What date are you due Bunyanvillas? I am due on the 9th April - and only have a 15.5 month gap between my son and this new baby - blimey life's gonna get complicated for a while. Your age gap seems far more sensible!! Any one else out there loony enough to have two kids close together?

fitfox · 11/03/2008 19:53

QC thanks - have sent a note to myself to think about costumes tomorrow. will consult DS1 again and get back to you

Have been trapped in meetings all day - arrgghhhhhhhhhhhhhh

SushiMummy · 12/03/2008 07:54

Morning all.

Hi twounder2. Welcome.

Just a quick one to say we are off to Japan tomorrow and hoping to see you all in April.

DS much better but I was sick all last night followed by diarrhea (sorry TMI!). I was feeling terrible on the way to work this morning and had to get off the train to puke. Hope I will be alright.

Otherwise, bye for now.

sfxmum · 12/03/2008 09:00

good morning all

twounder2 welcome, I don't have much to add to what the others have said, except to say that walking around Kew Gardens tends to be a sanity saver for me, and I only have one dd. best of luck to you

sushi that is awful poor you, fingers crossed it is nothing serious and you manage to have a good break.

world book day, the ghost of things to come, better start thinking of easy characters NOW to avoid panic

I hope everyone is ok, bit windy last night hey.
have been managing to get some study done and for now I am on schedule, so am quite please.
not sure if we will manage to go further than the local shops today, dd hates the wind.

slng · 12/03/2008 09:39

Hello all! Best of luck Sushi! Have a good holiday!

Am sorting out baby toys to give away. Somebody somewhere sat down and thought "I know, we'll make a string of gray grinning elephants in colourful dungarees." And somebody somewhere agreed "That's a brilliant idea that is. Kids love that stuff they do". Eh!!!??

Contemplating running quickly to the supermarket to get things for tea but DS1 said he wanted to come with me later so he can choose a black fish for tea Better wait till after nursery then ...

Kewcumber · 12/03/2008 09:48

have a lovely time sushi - thanks for the shoes - DS loves them! (and I love the chocolate- DS looked at the foil wrappers in the morning and said sadly "choc- choc" ). SOrry you don't feel well but generally these things are over in 24 hours so you'll probably be fine to travel tomorrow.

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 12/03/2008 09:48

I forgot - good luck Ros!

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 12/03/2008 09:49

and completely irrelevant to anything but I was so lazy last night I pinched DS's fish fingers and had beans on toast with fish fingers.

OP posts:
Paddlechick666 · 12/03/2008 10:04

ahem, kew, you are ignoring me

ros, good luck with job.

sushi, any illness that requires getting off train to vomit = go home immediately and rest/recover. hope you have a great trip.

just been chatting to Quokka on Skype and the boys are sooo grown up!

am toying with idea of taking dd away for a few days in april. fancy somewhere warm but am mortally afeared of package holidays on the costa del bacon n eggs. checked out flight to s'pore and £1300 so that won't be happening!

so, what i want is a beach hut somewhere lovely, relaxed, warm, not overly commercial etc for about £100 - anyone got any recommendations?

Kewcumber · 12/03/2008 10:11

ummm not ignoring just forgetting

I'll rent you my shed for £100, any date you like...

OP posts:
Paddlechick666 · 12/03/2008 10:16

your shed is not a beach hut tho is it? it's not somewhere warm either. altho i grant you all the other conditions apply.

slng · 12/03/2008 10:22

Paddle - check out www.leestravel.com. They usually have good deals for south east asia. In fact we got tickets from them for May trip to Malaysia. Failing that you can stay in our shed for free (thereby undercutting Kew).

Paddlechick666 · 12/03/2008 10:35

slng, thanks for that. their lowest quote shaved £300 off the BA price but I still can't afford a grand

thanks for the free shed. fits budget requirements but again doubt it will be too warm and sunny

kew, ta for email.

Kewcumber · 12/03/2008 10:45

Ah but my shed beach hut has a paddling pool sand pit and slide kids club. And I hear there is going to be a localised heatwave in Kew in April.

OP posts:
Paddlechick666 · 12/03/2008 10:50

you used to work in PR didn't you?

ComeOVeneer · 12/03/2008 11:11

Morning all. Sushi hope it is a 24hr thing and you recover for your journey tomorrow. Have a fab time and see you next month.

Paddle no suggestions I'm afraid, don't even have a shed to offer you either . DH is kindly taking himself and his dad off at the end of April for 5 days to either Portugal, or Le Touquet in France for some R+R (read "golf")! In fairness he did say did we (that would mean me, the children and MIL) want to come and they would do it in the school holidays (can you guess my reply? )

Any progress on the film and burger evening?

DD has a playdate after school and is being dropped off at 6.30pm, ds is at nursery until 1pm then being picked up by a friend to play with her son until 4.30pm (then dropped home), so I am a lady of leisure since the school run and needn't leave the house again today. (good job too as it is horrid out there.

Off to bake/ice 4 dozen cupcakes for dh's cousins birthday this friday. BYE.

Hi all, have been busy love some of the houses i have seen but before we think about making an offer -what is the propert market like? i get the impression that things arent selling that quickly and that its a buyers market - so if we bid at what level below the asking price should we offer - without annoying anyone?
cheers
