went to a textile art exhibition at the landmark in teddington yesterday. an artist we've liked for ages was exhibnting there (she's not local)..so we've commissioned a painting.

and hello filtered
castlegate is a really nice road and, as others have said, blessed with good primary schools and fab area to live in.
good luck.

Paddlechick666 · 10/03/2008 14:32

kew, you on email? want to ask you a working tax credit question.......

sfxmum · 10/03/2008 15:52

dh took dd out shortly before 2pm 'just popping to post office send grampa's birthday present'

two hrs later... text
Hi don't worry guess we have been gone a while, near home with extravagant things'
this is so dh

mellow2 · 10/03/2008 15:57

Foxie,
I'm glad your colleague is staying. I know how much of a headache it can be when a good member of the team leaves.

I could do with a holiday myself.

Hello filtered. Good luck with the house hunting. We're looking to move too, but to the Northfields area.

It's a bit of a miserable day today so we're just stuck at home.

Hope everyone else is well.

Paddlechick666 · 10/03/2008 16:02

sfx, that is soooo nice!

stepfordwife · 10/03/2008 17:04

sfx, what a fine man..what are the extravagant things? share with the class...

sfxmum · 10/03/2008 17:19

organic white chocolate with berries
plant
fancy slippers for dd from shoe station plus assorted items for bath play

it used to drive me mad all this aimless wandering about no timetable but I guess one neurotic parent is enough.
shall not tell dh you all think he is lovely

steppie thinking of taking dd over to 'one small step sometime later in the week if you around for coffee since it is on your neck of the woods

mellow I think popping to yours might have to be next week maybe tuesday?

mellow2 · 10/03/2008 18:10

sfx,
I might be busy next Tue. But I'll know by the end of tomorrow. I"ll lt you know.

slng · 10/03/2008 19:50

Good luck with Northfields Mellow! Very nice place - good bakers, good butchers, good cafes, nice shops, and even a decent Chinese restaurant!

fitfox · 10/03/2008 21:39

Oh I posted earlier and forgot to send it

Well Steppy DS1 and DD have both been moved up at swimming (I find it hard to believe that anyone ever gets moved up as classes are so huge). DS1 now better at front crawl than moi

QC I showed DS1 your post and he won't "commit" himself to which costume he wants (...he'll be lucky to get any)

Filtered - Castlegate will be in catchment for Windham nursery as its so close geographically and for Darrell/Marshgate is also well-located, which is why I mentioned them (as opposed to the other schools) - they all admit by distance so although they are over subscribed, Castlegate should be a fine address to get a place. Its not that much further from Darrell than where Steppy/I used to live. You are very close to Windham.

How old are your DCs? Do you got to church at all? There are also fabby church schools but you need to be able to get a priest's/vicar's reference.

I didn't view any houses in Castlegate - that one hasn't been on the market for long - its just on for Spring I think, as the bioard hasn't been up too long. Go and see it (you know you want to) then you can tell me what its like

Kewcumber · 11/03/2008 10:18

Whn does he need them foxie? He's quite welcome to choose one but I don't know if they'll all fit.

rosmerta · 11/03/2008 10:29

hi all,

I must admit I like the idea of world book day but costumes?!! Ds will be lucky if he gets something made out of tinfoil with my sewing ability!

Just been for an interview this morning. Perfect job really but there are a few more people to be seen, should know by next week.

hope you're all well

stepfordwife · 11/03/2008 10:35

hello all
hope everyone well
sfx, i love that showe shop. always up for a caffeine experience. most likely to be knockig around sheen myself thursday late morning, so perhaps we can have a babycino moment may be around fri afternoon at home, too. just give me a bell on my moby as if and when you['re shoe-shopping..

foxie, that's good getting moved up in swimming class. the little fellas have been in the same class for ages. ikwym, they've both been better swimmers than me for yonks.must sort out dd some swimming lessons.

well, re book week, they both went off in rugby and footie gear to school as their respective sporting heros..(they cam up with small print saying could be sporting hero and not just a book character..) totally snubbing my cat in the hat suggestions....ho-hum..

right, better do some work..

stepfordwife · 11/03/2008 10:35

shoe shop even...

stepfordwife · 11/03/2008 10:38

yes, ros, world book day is fab and they have authors, etc coming in throghout the week which is fab

but, yep, costumes can be a pita.

well done on interview..will keep my fingers crossed you get job

sfxmum · 11/03/2008 11:21

hello all

foxie that is great news

Ros keeping fingers crossed for you

steppie ok then will let you know

I hope you are all well today
I have been trying to get rid of yet more stuff, it is never ending

last night at dinner we were talking and dd clearly wanted to say her piece so she piped up

'now who is talking now? I am' LOL (very assertive voice used

ComeOVeneer · 11/03/2008 11:24

Fingers crossed for the interview Ros. I seem to be suffering from some kind of hay fever. Itchy eyes and all snuffly/sneezy, but surely it is too early!?! Also damn cold here. DS slept 7.30-7.30 undisturbed last night and is a really happy co-operative boy this morning. It is amazing what having enough sleep can do to them .

Spending today doing yet more reasearch on the ins and outs of running your own cake business from home, as well as research into the actual cakes themselves. AM off tomorrow to get all the necessarys for my mum's 60th cake. I think I will be favouring the more amercian style of cakes rathe than traditional english (victoria sponge/maderia etc0. Things along the lines of "golden vanilla cake layered with white chocolate and raspberry ganache, topped with white chocolate buttercream" or "chocolate cake made with kahlua, filled with kalua chocolate mousse and iced in chocolate buttercream" do sound rather more tasty than a dry old sponge

mellow2 · 11/03/2008 12:04

Ros,
Fingers x for you too.

fitfox · 11/03/2008 12:57

Well done Ros fingers x'd

QC thanks - he needs them for Friday morning. I will consult him again. He's quite skinny.

Right, gotta go back to my 6 hr meeting now (very important you know, blah blah blah)

Kewcumber · 11/03/2008 13:35

you're welcome to come round tonight or tomorrwo night and pick them up. I'm not seeing CM until Thursday now which might be a bit late for you or I'd drop them off at hers.
