New thread as the other one is not going to last long.

OP posts:
rosmincepieeater · 16/12/2007 17:07

hi all,

Sj, I'm still waiting for Amazon as well. I'm going to chase them up tomorrow if it doesn't arrive!

Glad minipads settled down and got some sleep!

Ds has been to see his cousins today so no doubt has had a great day. I managed to get some xmas shopping done but still don't know what I'm getting dh [arrrggggh].

rosmincepieeater · 16/12/2007 17:09

Sorry sj, glad you had a good time as well

Paddlechick666 · 16/12/2007 17:48

hi all

got the inhaler so hopefully that will make tonight a bit easier.

for those who met my french friend, she had her baby girl at 2:51 this afternoon after going into labour at 1:30am Thursday morning!

she had her at home and got to nearly 9cm before the midwives arrived having had on/off labour since thurs am.

and she's gorgeous!

sfxmum · 16/12/2007 18:21

aaahh for new baby and mum well done on her.

paddle hope you two rest today poor Lo she has had a rough time.

SJ all that dancing with new shoes
RESPECT! [grin}

all my online shopping has arrived except for sale stuff fingers crossed. Have a bike helmet and jumper for dh, that will have to do for now.
zero time for shopping.

dd is all sugared up seriously excited from all the play with the teens.

auntie keeps saying 'maybe this is my last year' she is such a cheerful soul, has been saying that since she hit 60 I think, that's 17 years and counting

SJ99 · 16/12/2007 19:37

Hope you both have better night Paddle - is the inhaler helping? Congrats to your friend, now the easy part is over, eh??!!

Amazon order is weird as everything else arrived on time apart from book for DS. Will head to PO tom in case they are holding it there. Hope your stuff arrives too Ros, I guess this is their busiest time of year not that that's any consolation to us while we're waiting

Glad you had good time at your aunt's b'day SFX. As for shoes, they were fab despite being higher than I remebered when I tried them in shop. I love dancing, not that I get much chance these days - have to get my fix from watching Strictly [frgin]

rosmincepieeater · 16/12/2007 19:47

Congratulations to your friend paddle!

Apparently ds has been sick twice today, am hoping he's not picked anything up and its just a cold

Paddlechick666 · 16/12/2007 19:48

so far so good, they told me to do 2 puffs per hour up to 4 times per day but 4 puffs if necessary.

gave her 3 puffs just before 7pm and she's sleeping now. a few coughs and she's definately still very snuffly but the humidifier and olbas and karvol are all working too.

such a relief!

being under house arrest has actually had some benefits. i feel a bit more like home now. i've done a heap of cooking for the freezer and dd and i decorated the tree and put up our pretty lights this afternoon.

much respect to festive for her utter calm in the face of moving! certainly learned some lessons from you today!

i actually feel relaxed this evening for the first time in a very very long time!

bahKewcHumbug · 16/12/2007 19:56

have a horrible feeling that DS is coming down with something. Has ben very off his food all day (most unlike him) and has suspiciously rosy cheeks...

Anyone fancy tea time drinks on boxing day (at mine?) or are you all too enmeshed with visitors? tried to invite myself to brothers for the day but (despite the fact that we are buying and cooking their Xmas lunch) they seem resistant to the idea of entertaining us for the day. Will probably do the carousel and ice house in Kew boxing day morning inthat case.

Paddlechick666 · 16/12/2007 20:01

would have loved to kew but will still be ensconced at the family seat!

plan to be back 27/28th latest. have to prepare for my uber exciting NYE. wonder if i will manage to stay awake till midnight this year

really hope ds is okay, there is so much going about at the mo. can't believe how bad dd has been the last month.

thankfully she takes the puffer really well now. in fact she demanded i "press it agen mummy"! honestly, i have a total drug addict on my hands i think.

rosmincepieeater · 16/12/2007 20:04

Kew, think your ds and my ds might have the same thing! I'm just hoping he's got a bit of a cold and its a reaction to that but he has been sick twice today...

And I would also like to come to yours but we'll be at my mums. If people are around from the Friday after xmas day I'd be up for a meet (depending on how I feel after op).

Btw, what happened to our book swap?

sfxmum · 16/12/2007 20:16

hope LO are actually ok despite worrying signs

dd faking cough and asking for meds yet again she is sneezing but otherwise seems fine, fingers crossed.

on the 26th we will probably be driving down boxing day on the motorway with turkey sarnies, time honoured tradition.

I still want to do the Igloo and ice skating at Kew.
dh is likely to work through New year including being on call on NYE, presumably to help tipsy council worker find the on button in the PC

festivevillas · 16/12/2007 20:26

Think dd and I are going to head to Kew tomorrow if anyone fancies it. PC, dd has to offer the inhaler to her two favourite bears each night before it's her turn - all a bit of a palaver! Glad to hear you have fully embraced the Christmas spirit, there is no getting away from it and our christmas tree is twinkling away merrily in the middle of all the boxes! Ummm, does anyone know how to disconnect a dishwasher? Was hoping that simply turning off the stopcock and tinkering around with the connections might do the honours. Would be funny if we had a massive flood the night before we moved

festivevillas · 16/12/2007 20:27

PS - lol at fake coughs!

rosmincepieeater · 16/12/2007 20:38

woohoo, just finished my first essay!

foxcubinapeartree · 16/12/2007 20:40

QC - I'd love to do drinkies Kew on Boxing day - we'll bring something bubbly and something sweet.

We had a Christmas drinks party 2 years ago, which I really enjoyed and I am toying with idea of doing parties again, but still feel so knackered atm with DS2's night feedathons - hosting anything feels a bit beyond me atm

Party last night was fun though. Had a fascinating convo about siblings position on family and how it affects personaluty with a gang of Darrell/Sheen Mount Mums. Got nice and [hic] Merry

SJ glad you had a nice time at your DH's do and managed to escape the hangover punishment

QC/SFX Am up for Kew igloo pilgrimage too, anytime between 26 Dec and 2 Jan, nice frosty walks etc

mellow thanx for those gorgeous bags

SJ99 · 17/12/2007 09:10

Morning all

Hope all poorly LO's are felling better today incl. those with fake coughs

KC - Thanks for invite but can't do Boxing day, IL's staying with us (I'd obviously love to escape to yours but they might think it rude)

Ros - well done on essay, how many do you have to do?

Festive - cannot come to Kew this am as have to get to PO as it's only open in morning but have fun.

Paddle - nothing like a bit of home cooking to feel settled, glad things are looking up for you

Paddlechick666 · 17/12/2007 09:33

whoop whoop! I am once again wi-fi enabled!

you have no idea how much this pleases me

dd had a good night thank the lord. a small amount of coughing but nothing major.

hope everyone else is well and your move is going okay festive.

is anyone else going to CBEEBIES live at Wembley on Saturday arvo?

I put an unfair amount of pressure on 2Cute last night and she's coming now too . Tix are still available but we're on different sides of the arena. Anyone else fancy it?

SushiMummy · 17/12/2007 09:51

Morning all.

Hope all the poorly ones are on the mend. My DS has been snuffly and coughing but eating and playing well so he's at nursery.[bad mother emoticon]

Went to KG Sat night and it was sooo busy and cold. C&C was twice as busy as usual weekends standard! Queue was simply too long so we only stayed for 30 minutes.

Kew, we are driving back on Boxing day from Bury and have no idea what time we'll be back. Can I text you on the day?

Paddle - sounds like you are setting in v nicely in your new home.

SJ&Foxie - glad you had fun at respective parties.

Ros - well done on essay. Yay!

And good luck to those waiting for online shopping deliveries. Fingers crossed.

Mellow - lovely to see you y'day.

Hope everyone is well.

sfxmum · 17/12/2007 10:07

good morning all

glad to hear LOs seem ok

sushi - speaking of nursery, would like your opinion next time we meet, thinking of sending dd there sometime next year.

festive - best of luck with the move

don't think we will make it to Kew this morning, or anywhere at all for that matter have loads to do in the house.

Ros - well dome with essay such a great feeling when it's done.

am looking forward to my short course next year, so glad I booked it now.

I wonder if I will ever again see the New Year in at some grown up partydoesn't seem likely really, it used to be so important before

hope everyone else ok today

Paddlechick666 · 17/12/2007 10:12

sfx, please can you give me those dr's details that you mentioned recently?

ros, impressed with your essay skills!

sushi, dd has gone to CM today. Same thing as she is bright enough and eating brilliantly. my CM's great, she plans the day according to dd so when she's like this it's indoor play and staying warm. she also gives her "winter" lunches like shepherds pie etc.

I love my CM!

foxie, steppie, kew, how's your CM now? hope she's feeling better.

deffo taking this arvo off and heading to Kingston to nail this Christmas business!

sfxmum · 17/12/2007 10:24

paddle I think you can see the surgery from your window 'Crane park Surgery' just across from bus stop next to you, will look for his number and email you.

Cbeebeis live would be great but I have all my family here on Saturday

Paddlechick666 · 17/12/2007 10:27

yep, you are right sfx, i can see it from my window!

have got the number now, thanks!

sfxmum · 17/12/2007 10:42

have emailed you anyway

rosmincepieeater · 17/12/2007 12:33

Cbeebies live would be great but I'm supposed to be having my op this week so don't think we'll make it! Maybe next year.

Paddle, glad you seem to be getting settled. Dh wanted me to ask if you still have the router available? His dsis needs one.

Ds seems to be a little better today if a bit subdued and he did do the most enormous poo last night in bed. We had to cut his vest off it was so bad (sorry if tmi)! We ate out on Sat night and I think something he ate has irritated his stomach. We're going to stay in this afternoon but if anyone wants to pop round, you're more than welcome. I don't think he's contagious.

festivevillas · 17/12/2007 13:04

Cripes, Ros - what a nightmare last night! Hope he is a lot better now. Well, we braved Kew and gosh it was busy! But still, less busy than weekends. There was a free "plantomime" on that dd didn't like (too loud!) but we managed to go on both the little rides although not the snowdome (she didn't fancy that either, much to my disappointment!). Flipping freezing though and am glad to be back home where I think we will be staying for the rest of the day!
