New thread as the other one is not going to last long.

OP posts:
Paddlechick666 · 20/01/2008 09:06

morning all, had some terrible dreams last night so feel unsettled today

at least dd seems to have got the concept of not yelling when she wakes up. the result of which means I have to dive out of bed when she first vocalises as that's the deal we've made!

off to a birthday party later, 1.5hr drive there which i am so not looking forward to!

god I'm a misery guts at the mo!

sfxmum · 20/01/2008 09:27

hi paddle it is awful waking up after really nasty dreams the heavy feeling takes ages to dissipate.
but you have bee through many many hard changes recently and the anxiety does have to get out somehow - the mind is a funny thing

stepfordwife · 20/01/2008 11:02

PADDLE, oops, didn't mean to shout..

you're not a misery guts at all. as sfx said, you've been through/going through so much.

hope you enjoy the party..just think of the CAKE...

hello everyone else

took ds1 to tate modern yesterday and we really enjoyed it. now, of course, i want to go again by myself...
i just love that walk along south bank from waterloo, too.

last night dh and i went out to dinner by ourselves
i even put on make-up
got off to a bit of a wobbly start when i got fed-up of fishing for compliments and had to demand:'do i look nice then or WHAT?" but had a giggle.
have a nice day
toodlepip

stepfordwife · 20/01/2008 11:05

sfx.. art yard fab but quite expensive, but they all are, aren't they?
haven't been to the pottery place on kew greem, but been to the one on the way to twickers. but happened to go on same day as a party of about 15 over-excited 5-year-old girls, so we didn't get much of a look-in.
but worth a visit...the one of kew green looks cosier and smaller

stepfordwife · 20/01/2008 11:07

re shoes - another vote for one small step here....good service.
usually have good sales too

rosmerta · 20/01/2008 15:56

Hi all, dh has taken ds out this afternoon so I can go on MN finish my questions for my tutorial!

Steppie, wow a grown up night out, sounds nice!

Kew, nice to see you yesterday, ds was out like a light last night so CPC definitely a winner in my book!

Paddle, know what you mean about horrible dreams, hate waking up after them! Hope you feel better.

rosmerta · 20/01/2008 15:57

Why didn't my strike out work?

slng · 20/01/2008 17:08

sfx - is the pottery cafe thing at Kew Green called the Ceramics cafe? There's one in West Ealing and we've been a few times. The one in West ealing has an expert there who helps (eg making footprints with wriggly small feet ...) I suspect they are all expensive ... They've got a website www.ceramicscafe.com/

SJ99 · 20/01/2008 18:44

Hello all

Thansk for tips. I found One small step on web so we went yesterday, glad you all like it too I thought they were really good, DS now proud owner of 3rd pair of shoes.

Paddle - hope party was good fun despite long drive. Ds said today 'want to go on bus', I said 'where are you going to go?' He replied 'want to see mini-pads'

Steppie - Hope you enjoyed grown up night out, and would also love to go to Tate minus DS

Spent the day in Egham today visiting a friend. DS really enjoyed playing with her 2 boys. Her eldest made us all play snakes & ladders, I thought the game would never end too many snakes on the finish line!

BTW I'm meeting Amanda Mon afternoon for coffee in case anyone wants to join us

sfxmum · 20/01/2008 20:12

thanks all for the ceramics/pottery suggestion

steppie - did you talk about the kids? {grin]

ros -hope the study tasks progressed well

paddle hope you both had a nice time

SJ - am taking dd to pools in the park tomorrow, I think, when/ where are you meeting up?

lovely much needed quiet weekend with dh taking dd out both days, he is a bit twitchy now, little miss bossy pants worn him out and refused dinner, he went to do the ironing to relax

SushiMummy · 21/01/2008 08:44

Morning all.

I turned out that I had influenza. After spending the whole week in bed/sofa, I am now on the mend. I still have the coughs and achey joints but I think I can probably go back to work on Wednesday.

Sorry, I haven't read all the posts but hope everyone is well.

Kewcumber · 21/01/2008 12:35

I'm off sick too - nothing as dramatic as flu but both DS and I have colds and he had a terrible night with very high temp. Motehr and child sick together is such a bummer isn;t it? Hoping we'll both be feeling a bit better tomorrow and will be back in work/CM

SJ99 · 21/01/2008 12:57

QC - Sorry to hear that you're both ill, that's no fun but glad it's nothing too serious.

Glad you are feeling better too Sushi

Sfx - sounds like you had relaxing wkend, nice. How's Pools in park? Will text you about meet up

Foxie - meant to ask, did MB enjoy his swim? Hope his pants didn't fall off

fitfox · 21/01/2008 13:59

SJ he loved it thanks - he has such a chubby bum they stayed on

the kids had a fabulous time and keep asking if we can go next week how to tell them it was a freebie and we can't afford to join

hi everyone

sfxmum · 21/01/2008 14:30

hello all

sushi glad you are on the mend
Kewcunber hope you are heading that way soon too.

SJ I quite like pools in the park particularly in the summer,it is local authority, basic but adequate I think. Just had a look at the health club attached and they have a creche too, so might make use of it for a few classes, will see.

Lovely time swimming with dd except an annoying 'teacher' got all huffy when dd picked up a rubber duck which had drifted off from his class, she got upset but one of the pool staff lent her a boat to play with instead. Idiot

we got home just in time to avoid proper rain too.

SJ99 · 21/01/2008 14:43

We got caught in the rain, took DS for a walk as that's the only way I can get him to nap these days. Went by the river but it was impassable, the water's the highest I've seen it The ducks were swimming in the pub car park

Sfx - That will be great if DD can use the creche while you exercise. I used to have that set up in Sweden for free, I do miss it!

sfxmum · 21/01/2008 15:18

yes yesterday morning by the river I was jogging at eye level with the ducks

I have to check cost regarding the creche as it seems to vary. tomorrow the forecast seems to be rain so we might do Lollipop sometime mid morning, she can have lunch there too.

ComeOVeneer · 21/01/2008 18:31

Paddle thanks for recommending the tangle teaser. It aarrived on saturday and is fantastic. DD usually screeches like she is being murdered when I brush her hair, but with this, not a peep.

SJ99 · 21/01/2008 19:01

Just got DS out of bath and as I was drying him off he said 'my willy, looks like sausage' I wonder who taught him that [DH no doubt]

If horrible weather tom I think we'll stay local and go to song/play group. Still haven't made it to Lollipop yet...

rosmerta · 21/01/2008 20:03

hi all, hope everyone's well or at least feeling better

Sj, at ds's comment!

My mum took ds to Lollipop today and said it was manic, about 30-odd mums there! And she got away without paying!!

bunyanvillas · 21/01/2008 20:30

Evenin' all. What a pants day - and apparently officially "the most depressing day of the year" - not half!! dd and I scaled the dizzy heights of Tesco Osterley, Homebase and .. um .. that's it. Think the likes of the Lollipop Club would have finished me off! However, have decided that tomorrow is going to be great and at least an 8 out of 10! CoV, what is a tangle teaser? Sounds like something I need - nevermind dd!

sfxmum · 21/01/2008 20:58

LOL @ds SJ it starts in private you know then it is full volume in Tesco

Bunyan sorry about the bad day, miserable weather not helping at all

I will try Lollipop around lunch time when it is usually quieter. the pool was empty today apart from a couple of classes going on on the other side of the pool.

apparently Tumble tots is full in Kew but the woman offered to let dd in the bigger kids class on Wed pm. we will see how she does.

KC was it you who mentioned the St Anne's playgroup? I am tempted as it is only 50p but not sure what to expect

rosmerta · 21/01/2008 21:09

sfx, funny your dd is just starting Tumbletots, I've decided that once this term's finished we're going to give it up!

SJ99 · 21/01/2008 21:44

Sfx - I know, this is what I've told DH I'm worried about

Good luck with TT. DS did enjoy it but the timing of Mon class didn't really suit as he was too tired. I think I would struggle to get to any of the other classes on time. Plus I figure he can do his acrobatics at the park or on sofa at home LOL

Ros - why are you stopping TT? I thought mini-Ros enjoyed it?

rosmerta · 21/01/2008 22:00

He does enjoy it but we have something on every day apart from Mondays, we need to cut down our expenditure a little & I hate having to get anywhere for 9.30 in the morning!! So all in all, its Tumbletots that's facing the cut first! As I said to dh, what we do at TT we can do at Lollipop or even the play centre at Brentford.
