Hello

Just popping in and saw thread already full up! The craziness of November is well and truly under way. Sorry I'm behind on your news, hope everyone is well.

The scarf video, I thought she was going to hang herself for the final tie Grin

Still undecided about floor, have got loads of samples ordered. I want a fresh, modern look whereas Dh wants more clinical, utlitarian (sp?) look, need to find something that we both like Hmm

First proper day of hols. No more swimming. Am contemplating signing up for weekly lessons but dread the commitment...

sfxmum · 07/04/2012 18:37

popped to the river to watch the boat race it was freezing, much drama ensued [bushock]

happy Easter, Kew in the morning I expect

UptoapointLordCopper · 07/04/2012 18:51

Happy Easter!

Heard the boat race incident on the radio in a watch shop getting a new watch strap. At least something happened. Cannot abide this boat race business. Grin

UptoapointLordCopper · 07/04/2012 18:52

sfx - Not sure what we'll do tomorrow. Meet up if we go to Kew or is this family time?

sfxmum · 07/04/2012 22:18

it is amusing copper Grin

not exactly family time no we will just amble over at some point it is hard not to run into half the neighbourhood on that day, thinking of a place to have brunch afterwards or perhaps a second breakfast a la Hobbit

tillyfernackerpants · 07/04/2012 22:37

Did you see the drama sfx? First I heard of it was from India Knight on Twitter

We went to Kew yesterday, lots of fun, ds1 especially enjoyed the little tent bit near C&C. He made a worry doll, now called Bonkers [buconfused]

sfxmum · 08/04/2012 00:11

I have not been to Kew in ages although I run past it regularly.
I saw the man in the water on telly from the clubhouse just as we were about to leave and head to the finish line.
I did hear the commotion and general rush when the rower collapsed even from across the river.
Dh was analysing the rowing with club people using technical terms apparently - show off

sfxmum · 08/04/2012 00:14

Tilly did you read on twitter the best joke doing the rounds? Trenton Trenton Jesus Christ Trenton (that being the name of the swimmer) Grin

tillyfernackerpants · 08/04/2012 15:52

[bugrin] Did you see the

UptoapointLordCopper · 08/04/2012 18:37

Grin at Trenton.

We didn't make it to Kew Gardens, or indeed anywhere. Very lazy ...

sfxmum · 08/04/2012 20:59

it amuses me he finds the thing to be a significant protest against the ruling classes, it is a silly race among students

go disrupt the premiere league with those inflated salaries go shout boo at Cameron or something

sfxmum · 08/04/2012 21:01

Kew was nice enough and avoided the rain, a bit disappointed as we wanted Maids of Honour for tea but it was closed when to the coach and horses instead, nice enough pub food

Kewcumber · 09/04/2012 14:59

I'm back. Dd you miss me? Did you even notice I'd gone|?

Kewcumber · 09/04/2012 21:09

gossip: Have arranged to meet an old flame in kew. Haven't seen him in about 15 years - will be nice to catch up.

sfxmum · 09/04/2012 23:06

Is it a sane uncomplicated one Grin KewC?
So where have you been? Here have been too involved in keeping child busy and trying not to worry too much about the work not being done

Kewcumber · 09/04/2012 23:18

no - been down the caravan, got back yesterday.

He may well be both sane and uncomplicated now sfx surely that is what matters Wink

15-20 years ago he was definitely sane, smart, sexy, very suave, totally charming. But much older.

He may also still be slightly married but tbh as we're going for a walk in Kew Gardens and lunch I think we're both safe!

sfxmum · 10/04/2012 13:56

very civilised KewC, enjoy yourself take it means child free time?

managed dash to pool, now babysitting but when their mother arrived I am dumping all on her and leaving for a run

now dh has gone funny on me, he booked for us to go to Winsdor horse show apparently a Royal pageant Shock he used to be a socialist green type with heavy republican tendencies, now it is the rowing the horsy stuff Confused
and worst of all am I supposed to wear a hat?!

Grin
UptoapointLordCopper · 12/04/2012 16:59

Hello! I'm back! Did anyone notice I was gone!? Grin

Been to Chester. Nice scenic little town. But nice to be back in grimy old London town. Have also successfully dodged all dodgy weather - just happened to be in trains/cafes/cathedrals etc when it poured down outside.

How is everyone doing? KewC - report please.

tillyfernackerpants · 12/04/2012 22:57

I miss Chester Sad. My grandparents lived there so used to spend a week or two with them during the summer holidays. Its where my mum grew up & quite often her & her friends would see The Beatles wandering around, I think less often as they became more popular though!

Kewcumber · 12/04/2012 23:15

Nothing to report yet! We have agreed to meet at Kew when the weather improves and DS is back at school - then he's offered to buy me lunch. All very innocent.

Kewcumber · 12/04/2012 23:33

never been to chester

UptoapointLordCopper · 13/04/2012 09:27

Hello!

At home today. Going to bake lots of stuff for DS2's birthday party.

Kew - innocent is good. Smile Complications are so last season.

sfx - Hmm at royalist tendencies.

tilly - I'm reading the latest Wallander book. So good. Do you like those?

sfxmum · 13/04/2012 10:02

I am off to Kew shortly, well in about an hr or so I imagine

Chester I have been in passing, pleasant enough.

thinking about a birthday party for dd tricky at the moment as we would like to open it to all the class zero ideas.
she wants tin pin bowling but honestly it is so fecking loud and the food is chips and burgers Hmm

the royalist thing, pony club will be going but a few are too young for the coach trip so the some parents are taking them and meeting there, I am kinda lost in that world
dd has an exam tomorrow and I really hope she does well, it will boost her confidence, the training has gone well

UptoapointLordCopper · 13/04/2012 10:36

Pony club exam!?

One of the stranger things I saw on telly - Strictly baby disco. Shock Shock Anyone else seen it? No? Don't.
