Hello!

Swimming this afternoon, I think.

Have googled all kinds of achievable Easter craft. Will show kids later and they can bloody well do them themselves.

Off to pack swimming kit.

sfxmum · 22/03/2011 15:04

hello nearly time to pick up dd

steppie my dh just forgets he booked visitors and leaves the country, did that to his parents last yearShock tempted?

sore throat and temperature yesterday, today just sore throat = improvement

substitute teacher in dd's class, I felt sorry for her this morningGrin

no crafts I know of that is why I pay for her art classes

OP posts:
vbus · 22/03/2011 21:44

Sfx- sore throat for you or DD? either way hope it clears soon. BTW do you mind if I ask how much you pay for language lessons? (Text me if you don't want to say on here).
Just curious as mum from school trying to organise lessons for several of school kids but they seem v. expensive Hmm. I would teach them at that rate Grin

sfxmum · 22/03/2011 22:11

hi vbus I have a sore throat, better now, dd has a cough and a cold as do at least 70% of her class but we are fine just tired really

language we pay per term and includes materials £55
I guess it depends what you want I think the teacher is very dedicated and actually spends time engaging the small group only 4 including her son, they are the youngest group

sfxmum · 23/03/2011 18:49

KewC I think dh has taken his limit of Summer hols unless one of you would like to go halves with the kids for a few days?
not sure he would be too keen on the idea Hmm

very tired/ stressed today need a frivolous day but not much chance of that until next week, I am behind with study and other stuff

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 23/03/2011 19:16

Advantage to it is that its an easy drive (relatively) to get there and you can get away without driving at all once there either by staying on our smaller quieter site or by catching the free bus around.

sfxmum · 23/03/2011 19:53

it is all going bonkers in Portugal tonight was watching the news at my aunt's I predict a fist fight in parliament tonight Grin

OP posts:
UptoapointLordCopper · 23/03/2011 20:35

What's up with the Portugese? Fist fights are nothing. I've seen (on telly, not in person) politicians pick up chairs and hit each other with them. Can't remember whether Taiwanese or Malaysian parliament. That's democracy. Whether they get arrested or not afterwards is when you know whether there is rule of law. Grin Moral of story: fix furniture to floor to avoid volatile situation.

My first Boden purchase arrived. Shock It even fits. ShockShock

sfxmum · 23/03/2011 21:13

copper it is complicated politics, there is a left wing minority government returned to power after the financial meltdown, they are putting in place unpopular austerity measures.
The opposition made noises for months but nothing came of it. In the meantime there were presidential elections where the electorate returned the the current incumbent for his second term, none of this is unusual, they often like gov and president from opposing parties.
but the opposition seems to see it as a sign that they could win the next election if called soon and, the current PM said if they do not approve this current package of economic measures he will resign
he lost the vote and seems to be ready to resign
high stakes gamble all around

the president does not have much of an executive role, he has some veto rights but they are rarely used by convention
personally I really dislike the sanctimonious self righteous man serving as president, he used to be PM many years ago

no fist fight or chair throwing happened Grin
