thought I would start a new one

tilly - won't mind westfield too if there is a chance for some window shopping ...

Kewcumber · 11/07/2011 22:09

Yay - my gain! westfield/richmond watermans all good for me. I am ambivalent about 3D anyway - kind of like but it also kind of makes my head hurt and distracts me from the actually film as I'm too busy trying to spot the 3d bits.

Bloody exhausted!

Have been at hostial form 9.30am until 8pm Shock I forgot how complicated the while process was - steroids and antihistamine injections and paracentamol (and thats just the preparation!) then 15 minute obs for the first couple of hours then 30 min obs ALL DAY! All fine until the last obs when blood plood pressure rocketed so they don;t let you go homein case you are about to drop death from anaphylactis shock, so had to wait some more. Funnily enough rocketing blood pressure co-incided with a tired DS arriving and discovering the remote control toys beds Hmm

But all done now so hopefully will do for another couple of years...

sfxmum · 11/07/2011 22:49

KewC glad it is done now you can have some colour in those cheeks

well 3D it is I heard the producer talking about what they did with the 3D and made me want to watch it, he said rather that coming at you it often looks as it is pulling you into the screen, sounds great to me
they are doing some limited edition 3D glasses like Harry's, I resisted

I was not being poked and prodded but my sis was and I spent the best part of the day with my aunt (note aunt not sis) trying to keep her calm, I had hairdresser first and she called me endlessly wondering if sis had died on operating tableHmm anyway eventually I got there and she kept on imagining more complex and tragic scenarios of what would surely go wrong.

fortunately the usually dire daytime Portuguese telly she watches, was doing a special thing on a song writer (tragically killed, of course) who among other things wrote a lot of satirical and comical songs/ sketches and it served as distraction I managed to laugh a lot, stuff from the early to mid 80's

anyway collected sister who was doped to the eyeballs and will, I hope be oblivious to aunt's tales of gloom which she will carefully repeat, at least what she manages to recall

back there tomorrow to keep the peaceGrin

dh&dd were still starting to cook dinner at 6.45pm (I don't know how it got so late) bless

UptoapointLordCopper · 12/07/2011 07:50

Good morning!

A bit sleepy. Should have resisted DH's offer of G&T last night. It might have been a bit stronger than I thought ...

Well done both for surviving hospital experience. Smile

1+ week to go ... >

Office today. Shame. Would like to continue decluttering.

vbus · 12/07/2011 14:17

Hello

Pity about split cinema trip but glad it all seems to have worked itself out in terms of 3d v 2d experience Grin

Hope all patients are feeling better today

Exhaused too, life seems to be pretty full on now kitchen stuff is accelerating

sfxmum · 12/07/2011 16:05

very excited[hsmile]
patient on my side feeling better and more knocked out than she thought she would be.

I now need a day home sorting stuff out, amazing how a couple of days not doing chores just backs everything up

kewC so you feel any better now?

OP posts:
stepfordwife · 12/07/2011 16:38

hello!
how're you all diddling?

sorry not much chance to get on here at moment..trying to wrap up a few work things that are draaaaaaaaaaging on before school breaks up and the amount of stuff/demands going on at/from school staggering...not sure I'm up to it Grin

hope you're feeling better now, kew.
and hope your ssiter ok, sfx

tillyfernackerpants · 12/07/2011 20:30

Hi steppie [waves]

Kew/Copper, what dates can you do, w/c 25 July? If Westfield will definitely try to schedule window shopping in [hgrin]

sfxmum · 12/07/2011 20:34

vbus meant to ask about kitchen progress, are you being able to use it?

dd has started sleeping with the door closed now, I understand we are late with this development but at our house it is a firstGrin

OP posts:
sfxmum · 12/07/2011 20:36

Wine needed it

OP posts:
UptoapointLordCopper · 12/07/2011 20:41

Piano stool slipped and grazed my ankle. Ouch ouch ouch ouch.

Our kids sleep with door slightly open. In case of scariness. Our bedtime threat is we'll shut the door if they don't shut up and sleep.

Tilly - will check with babysitter DH re: date.

I need a Wine.

tillyfernackerpants · 12/07/2011 22:13

No Wine until the weekend for me [checks what day it is]

sfxmum · 13/07/2011 09:53

hello
bit on the coldish side this morning
plans scuppered dd home looking out of sorts

OP posts:
UptoapointLordCopper · 13/07/2011 10:20

Hello!

School dance afternoon cancelled due to possible rain. Hmm Even wise people who don't book day off until the day before are flummoxed.

Waiting for bread to cook then out to supermarket ...

vbus · 13/07/2011 14:25

Hello all

Hello Steppie Smile

Sfx - hope Dd is feeling better now, is it endoftermitis? Kitchen building not started yet but so much planning to be done beforehand. Getting quotes from builders whilst trying to scope and source internal design, the fun bit but not so easy with DC in tow

Just made a batch of samosas to take to school picnic but fear it may get rained off Hmm

sfxmum · 13/07/2011 14:36

vbus it is a bit of that I think but she was also running a low fever in the morning, along with the coughing and sneezing poor child looked warned out.
she been doing some dutiful writing today so can't be that badGrin

picnic cancelled don't they have a space for indoor picnic? seems a shame

just realised that I will be standing under the sky watching the play on Saturday, rain is forecast, oh yes an authentic Elizabethan experience, kind of

OP posts:
vbus · 13/07/2011 14:58

poor thing, hope she recovers soon. I'm hoping picnic will still go ahead and that it will stay cloudy, a guess a lot of poeple won't turn up if it does rain which will be a shame. School hall is not big enough for everyone as it is, next year they will have the extra class to contend with Hmm

oops better go and wake DS2 to go to school, he has been super tired too lately

tillyfernackerpants · 13/07/2011 20:22

Ds1 also not very well, keeps complaining of a sore throat & had a v mild temp tonight. Typically its his school trip tomorrow which he's desperate not to miss. I've dosed him up & hopefully he'll be ok tomorrow [fingers crossed]

Did picnics/dances go ahead?

Sfx, have you been to the Globe before? I really enjoyed it, it was a jolly from work so we were sat in the Royal box to watch Hamlet. A couple of us went down to the front though for the last act & it was actually much better [hgrin]

UptoapointLordCopper · 13/07/2011 20:46

Just finished reading How to ride a dragon's storm. Grin Cracking good read!

DC coughing and sniffling, which is the least of our problem. We are taking turns having temper tantrums. Perhaps we'll bunk off school next week and just sit at home until everyone finds their inner calm. Hmm

Tilly - week beginning 25/7 - weekday possible but weekend busy. Can probably do weekend of 23/24 though.

tillyfernackerpants · 13/07/2011 21:12

Can't do 23/24, week after?

Ds1 loves the How to train your dragon film, again the book went a bit over his head, so we'll save it for a couple of years. I enjoyed it though [hgrin]

vbus, have you started I am Number 4 yet? Not in any rush for the book, just wondering!

sfxmum · 13/07/2011 21:32

tilly/copper hope children feel better, it has been a long and tiresome

have never been to The Globe before somehow it never quite happened

vbus no rain, hope things went ahead

dh sniggering at The Apprentice and its contestants stupidity, don't know why he watches it reallyHmm

OP posts:
sfxmum · 13/07/2011 21:33

long and tiresome term that should be

OP posts:
UptoapointLordCopper · 13/07/2011 21:41

Have just switched on Apprentice. That Sugar person. Who does he think he is? DH out, or he'll run screaming from the room. Grin

tilly - nothing in diary for week 1-7 August. Weekday can be arranged. Weekend should be easy.

sfx - never been to the Globe either. My parents have though. Got them tickets to see Macbeth. People in standing room had to poke head out from slits in big sheet. Very odd picture.

Kora · 13/07/2011 22:12

Can't wait for HP. First 3d experience. I'm sure good in 2d too. Hope everyone is recovering from illnesses (own or dc's), hospital visits etc - hugs

DD1 on hols already from nursery - and it's all over until she joins "bigger school". I warn you in advance I'll be having a mini meltdown in September!

Globe theatre is brilliant, though will never forget forced purchase of fleece a few years ago when it became much colder than expected in evening. Huge "Shakespeare's Globe" logo meant felt like an advertising billboard - didn't really wear it much again... Grin

sfxmum · 13/07/2011 22:44

Kora meltdown when first born goes to school it is perfectly acceptable and expected even, will probably see you at the social evening to introduce new parents, I think I know at least 3 who will be with your dd

must manage a few miles tomorrow feel sluggish and have not been out since Friday I think, not helped by dh getting wine in almost every night, turning into lushes
