thought I would start a new one

vbus, we tried reading HP1 after ds1 asked to but he quickly lost interest so def not ready yet!

Made thai chicken cakes for tea, surprisingly a big hit & very quick & easy to make! Though they wanted ketchup rather than the sweet chilli sauch

UptoapointLordCopper · 11/07/2011 09:33

Good morning!

Hope all hospital visits go well.

Decluttering today. [hhmm]

HP book 1 didn't go down that well with DS1 either. But we are seriously into the How to train your dragon books... but DS1 doesn't read them just before bedtime because it might be too scary. [hgrin]

Now DS2 wants Lego Batman pyjamas too. Indulge or not?

UptoapointLordCopper · 11/07/2011 09:34

Why don't the wizard smileys work??

sfxmum · 11/07/2011 10:38

Hello
I think HP worked well with dd partly because it has good female characters too and after The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe & The Secret Garden she is well prepared for nasty things happening. Has started 2nd book and is talking about how different the films are, she watched the first 2 sometime ago.

About cinema will check back in the evening and perhaps book?

Babysitting proving hard to find for next Saturday might have to ask one if you to come with to The Globe instead of dhWink

Copper give him the pajamas not luxury item

OP posts:
sfxmum · 11/07/2011 10:42

Vbus dd is a mag addict like het mum and no doubt because of me. Dh baffled 'but it is all online' Wink
Well done on good report

Tilly the cakes seem yum might try them when dh out

Spoke to teacher this morning she wants s word to have dd assessed by speech therapist. Slightly baffled

OP posts:
UptoapointLordCopper · 11/07/2011 10:45

Sorted out big box of crayons/colour pencils etc to give to nursery. How did we end up with so many of these things when we didn't buy any!?

sfx - pj not luxury items but ungreen to buy new stuff when there are already plenty. Have I bought into this green business too much?

Now to the tip.

UptoapointLordCopper · 11/07/2011 10:46

sfx - I thought there was an episode already about this speech therapy business earlier? Has teacher got the right child/mum?

sfxmum · 11/07/2011 11:04

Yes previous teacher mentioned it and I refused. They seem keen.

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 11/07/2011 11:28

Sfx no idea if Dd would benefit from speech therapy but just to say they don't just look at speech (which she is obviously fine) but also communication generally. Ds is on the waiting list

sfxmum · 11/07/2011 11:50

KewC I know I expect it is to do with lack of eye contact and not listening at some point I even considered glue ear

OP posts:
vbus · 11/07/2011 13:51

Sfx- that does seem strange they want her to see specialist. DS1 doesn't do the eye contact thing or even say hello to a lot of people more a confidence thing on his part I think though. Hope you find out what it is they hope to achieve by seeing therapist

As for tickets, has Tilly booked/booking them? Confused

Copper - if you don't want to buy pj's maybe you can indulge him in another way? (ice cream on way home from school!)

Tilly - recipe is almost identical to fishcakes I made at wkend, subs chicken for salmon and mashed potato, yum. Does taste good with chilli sauce! Will try with chicken next time

Dh refused to put up new tent at wkend for a trial run and for some reason (v. unlike him) doesn't want to put it up til we get to festival Shock, I predict a stress out on the day Hmm

sfxmum · 11/07/2011 14:03

Dh will be having a chat today as he is doing pick up. I predict a lot of FFS & new fangled syndrome nonsense & in my day Grin oh well I will make peace tomorrow

OP posts:
sfxmum · 11/07/2011 14:04

Vbus about the tent we will be there from Thu so can give you a hand if needed

OP posts:
tillyfernackerpants · 11/07/2011 14:07

I haven't booked tickets but am happy to do so, can do it this afternoon. Quick check is Kora, sfx, me & vbus for Thurs 21. I'll go for Odeon as it seems easiest to get to but if its fully booked will check Westfield if thats ok.

sfxmum · 11/07/2011 14:12

Works for me tilly thanks

OP posts:
Kora · 11/07/2011 14:29

Quick check-in, to say thanks Tilly for booking tickets! KewC, hope all goes well at hospital. Hope everyone else is fine (sfx, albeit met your DD briefly but must say cannot believe speech therapy required, she was super articulate; they must have a bee in their bonnet about something slightly different - ah, can't wait for all that-school-assessing-your-child school palaver...)

vbus · 11/07/2011 14:44

Thanks Tilly [hsmile]

Sfx - we might be going on Thurs too, so thanks much appreciated, not long to go now!

vbus · 11/07/2011 14:45

wizard smile still not working, d'oh

tillyfernackerpants · 11/07/2011 17:32

Ok, bit of a dilemma. Odeon are showing HP but only at 7.30pm, I know I would struggle to get there in time. They are showing it in 3d at 8.30pm, I can't cope with 3d, get too much of a headache, but if everyone wants to go for that one, then I'll see it with Copper & Kew later. Or Westfield Vue are showing it at 8.20pm.

Any thoughts?

sfxmum · 11/07/2011 18:18

Actually I kind of wanted it in 3D if anyone is bound to use it well it would be them
Dh making noises I am leaving him out on favour of girly night Grin so I suppose if in minority I can always go with him

OP posts:
Kora · 11/07/2011 19:11

I've not seen anything in 3D yet, so I'd be v happy to join in with that showing, but delighted to be seeing it anyway so will go with flow! Smile My dh is relieved that I'm not making him sit through another HP (though secretly he loves them, never minds watching the xmas dvd Grin).

Made blueberry muffins today as in season, etc etc. Buttermilk revelation. One ingredient can make such a difference, much more moist than my usual attempts...

vbus · 11/07/2011 19:26

Personally I'd prefer to watch the 3d one, I think it will be brilliant on the big screen. Happy to go to 2d though, Dh also pleased I've found other people to go and watch it with Grin I think I'll have to opt for Odeon as I just checked parking prices at Westfield Shock

Is 7.30pm doors open or film start time? Would you be able to get there for 7.45pm? What about our second choice date of 19th, do they have tickets left for that date for 2d showing?

Kora - buttermilk is indeed fab, I made some strawberry ice cream with it at wkend, delicious!

tillyfernackerpants · 11/07/2011 20:13

As the three of you want to see it in 3d why don't you do that? The 2d version is only at 7.30pm, I imagine that's when the doors open so guess the film would start 8-ish?

UptoapointLordCopper · 11/07/2011 21:34

Hello!

No 3d for me. Can do 2d outing with tilly and/or kew.

tillyfernackerpants · 11/07/2011 21:44

Copper, looks like its me, you & Kew for the 2d version. Will keep an eye on Watermans, see if it turns up there!
