thought I would start a new one

Hello

Yes it was cool in the wind, perfect drying weather for clothes

Copper - that makes sense re: games, and no one likes to be nagged! We'll probably do something similar but for time being DS1 happy enough playing games on Beebies/CBBC website sometimes at wkend, that is enough for him

DS1 new gym class was very good, he really enjoyed it. I OTOH am in agony, my thighs have seized up after yesterday's pump, really painful walking up and down stairs and sitting down, ouch. Best go and lie on the sofa then Grin

sfxmum · 09/05/2011 21:31

hello hope everyone is well

vbus what you need is a swim or a short nice easy run followed by long stretch and bathGrin when the nanny has a minute

copper not to mystify things too much, and let dd try her own ideas within reason, so as not to make the forbidden seem alluring, this goes for chocolate, telly games, lurid colours, rubbish ,music and so on

spent the day inside gathering all my notes and making an essay plan, hopefully this one will flow easily or at least I know where the references will be when I need them

tomorrow I will be tagging along with the school visit to the Gardens, amazing what I can arrange to shirk

OP posts:
vbus · 10/05/2011 13:59

Hello

Sfx - I think the nanny now needs a holiday Grin Good luck with essay, hope you get stuck into it. DS1 got Kew trip in few weeks I may go along too if they need extra helpers

Tilly - Lovely to see you both as usual, DS2 said he really liked 'funny face' with Tilly DS2 Smile

Forgot to say we finally got our planning persmission approved last week despite neighbours objections, yay and such a relief. Now we can crack on with next stages

sfxmum · 10/05/2011 14:29

vbus can you stick your tongue out at neighbour now?
writing going ok but am guessing there will be a late night tonight

Kew visit this morning, oh my head, 'in charge' of 3 girlsShock herding cats I tell you
the trapeze people were doing a photo shoot, must remember to do visit this weekend for the show

OP posts:
UptoapointLordCopper · 10/05/2011 18:41

Been swimming with kids. Exhausted. DS2 up last night having a sore throat which was exacerbated by it being dark. Hmm

vbus - good luck with next stages!

sfx - what trapeze?

sfxmum · 10/05/2011 18:44

these folk

am waiting on husband and child, she decided to bolt to neighbours and is eating there, dh is AWOL with phone off what is the bleeding point of a phone then?

OP posts:
UptoapointLordCopper · 10/05/2011 19:13

sfx - when are you planning on going? Looks interesting. Will see if DH or kids are interested.

vbus · 10/05/2011 19:56

Oh, I must've got my dates mixed up I thought this was last wkend. I'd like to go on Sunday weather permitting if Copper/Sfx/anyone wants to meet?

Sfx - make the most of the silence. Have to see crazy neighbour tomorrow, not looking forward to that

sfxmum · 10/05/2011 20:00

we were thinking of perhaps going on Sunday as on Saturday I hope to go to this I reserved tickets, although I realise it is supposed to be for older children but I think dd would love it, fits well after music class

OP posts:
vbus · 10/05/2011 20:43

Lecture look good, I'm sure DD would enjoy it. DS2 would probably like it too

I'll text on Sun if we're going, Dh will be in US by then so will see if DC up for Kew Smile

Listening to Florence live, would like to see her

vbus · 10/05/2011 20:44

Oops I meant DS1, LOL at thought of DS2 going to lecture Grin

tillyfernackerpants · 10/05/2011 21:29

vbus, would love to see Florence live, bet she's amazing

Didn't know about the events at Kew, should keep up to date really. Might try and go, will let you know if I do

sfxmum · 11/05/2011 13:09

OP posts:
vbus · 11/05/2011 13:39

sfxmum · 11/05/2011 16:57

vbus the cheekGrin

OP posts:
UptoapointLordCopper · 11/05/2011 18:23

Re vacuum - for us, it is always a user error. Wink

Sushi for dinner. Yum!

sfxmum · 12/05/2011 13:11

hello

am sure the vacuum thing was because I have not cleaned it properly in a while, will check it through

lovely run this morning but a tad slow 5 miles in nearly an hr
I am hoping to do a 10k race by the end of Summer and start training for a half after maybe for early in the year.

part of me really wants to do a marathon before I get to 50Shock

OP posts:
sfxmum · 12/05/2011 13:13

btw I can recommend Jamie's 30 minute meal book, lots of nice recipes done quickly albeit not in 30 minute for people who do not use food processors and have children in the kitchen, but still comfortably within the hour, main sides and pudding

OP posts:
vbus · 12/05/2011 13:30

Sfx - sorry I couldn't resist Grin Are you all set for visitors? When do they arrive? Well done on running. I think I'd like to try a for a marathon when I'm in my 60's then it doesn't matter if I trash my knees!

I don't have that book but coincidentally I'm going to a 'Jamie' party tomorrow so may end up coming home with it

Dh finally got his visa today so has booked flights for Saturday, boo hoo

Just waiting for window cleaner, not sure when he'll show up, the time keeps changing Hmm

The APprentice has kept me amused the past few nights, anyone watch it?

sfxmum · 12/05/2011 13:36

vbus they arrived yesterday, picked dd from school had a look around etc, returned this morning for grown up coffee (dh working from home) went off to visit friends then back for dinner out with us, I thin k dd will have a late night.
start making list of what you want him to bring backGrin got to have your rewards

OP posts:
UptoapointLordCopper · 12/05/2011 14:56

vbus - we had our windows cleaned by super efficient window cleaners last month. Can give you number if yours fail to turn up.

Don't have Jamie's book but have a Nigel Slater 30-min suppers (free copy with Observer many many years ago) and recipes are very simple and good.

Haven't watched Apprentice. I get too upset...

sfxmum · 12/05/2011 15:26

I watched precisely 15 mins of an apprentice episode many moons ago and it is not good for my heart or my good will towards people, who manages staff like that?

OP posts:
vbus · 12/05/2011 18:23

Copper - thanks but cleaner finally came at 3pm (originally it was meant to be 10am!) and did fab job. We have used him before and I trust him when he says he had a difficult day, I was in no rush anyway
I like Mr Slater

Sfx - enjoy your dinner

tillyfernackerpants · 12/05/2011 22:02

Vbus, I've been watching it, no surprises so far though!!
