Hadn't realised we were so close to filling up the last thread, hope you all find it!!

OP posts:
sfxmum · 30/11/2010 20:17

tilly wish I could but it is Kew Sparkle this Friday and Father Christmas is coming to the village at 6 and we must eat at Pizza Express afterwards, it is tradition
Grin

we did snow balls too there was a bit of snow about the place

vbus nothing black sorry
dh is getting some sporty stuff all his presents have been bought

lordcopper do you know what kind of beer your dh likes? mine is very particular about the ales and whatevers, I don't like the stuff at all

UptoapointLordCopper · 30/11/2010 20:30

tilly - no nutcracker for me, thanks!

sfx - dark ales. Not Badger's, too sweet. I work with a bunch of real ale enthusiasts and get the low-down from them. I'm thinking one of Abel and Cole cases. Can't bear the stuff myself either.

vbus - sorry, no black.

vbus · 01/12/2010 11:24

Tilly - LOL at thought of Dennis the Menace appearing in nativity play Grin I might borrow the grey top if I can't find anything plain black at wkend thanks.
Yes please to Nutcracker! Could you email me the details Smile

Copper - ta for link. Dh also into ales so might get him some as there are quiet a few he hasn't had on that link

Sfx - how's essay going?

Drinks night was fun. DS1 said he wants to build a snowman when he gets home and said we could use either buttons or pieces of coal for the eyes Hmm

sfxmum · 01/12/2010 11:40

hello all

vbus essay done and sent yesterday, celebrated with spinning class this morning, I ache now but in a good way

LOL @coal where and when does he think he lives?

btw dd discovered that toilets used to be outside the house in the olden days and finds it hilarious Hmm

Kewcumber · 01/12/2010 14:33

sfx - have done more research into school mystery and have sent out my minions to find out. Hope to know the facts soon...

vus have black long sleeve t shirt wth quite subtle grey motor bikes (about an inch high) all over. Probably wouldn;t notice from a distance.

"dd discovered that toilets used to be outside the house in the olden days" - funny we had exactly same conversation last night watching "turn back time" - DS thinks I am kidding.

sfxmum · 01/12/2010 17:14

KewC more than one minion? respect!

is it wrong to have fish and chips for dinner? it warms the house you knowGrin

UptoapointLordCopper · 01/12/2010 18:25

KewC has her own personal fiefdom. Xmas Grin >

Fish and chips perfectly acceptable dinner. We have very nice fish and chips shop nearby. Probably have it on Friday! Fish and rice Japanese style today.

dustythedolphin · 01/12/2010 18:27

Oh imagine having to go outside in this weather to do a No.1 or No.2 Shock

sfxmum · 01/12/2010 18:46

that is what chamber pots are for

UptoapointLordCopper · 01/12/2010 19:50

Been telling kids tales of the Effendi Like this. They are really funny stories - at least to me and DS1, DS2 generally gets in a huff and says it's not funny. DS1 has concluded that kings are generally bad. Xmas Grin My job is done. Xmas Grin Xmas Grin

UptoapointLordCopper · 01/12/2010 22:07

Saw this in the big issue. So attractive! And cable cars in the home!!!

dustythedolphin · 01/12/2010 22:29

DH said "we used to just bring the bucket in"

tillyfernackerpants · 02/12/2010 12:40

When my dad was little they had two outdoor toilets for the whole street!

OP posts:
sfxmum · 02/12/2010 13:45

sfxmum · 02/12/2010 13:45

vbus · 02/12/2010 13:48

Tilly - Shock LOl at toilet talk

KC - thanks for offer of shirt, I think DS2 may have that top too! Some of mums have sourced plain black at H&M so I might pop into Kingston tom morning and get one. Thanks anwyay!

vbus · 02/12/2010 13:49

vbus · 02/12/2010 13:50

Sfx - well done on double fitness class Shock I had a good enough work out pushing buggy through snow today

tillyfernackerpants · 02/12/2010 14:29

sfx, well done on fitness class!

Love toy website, am really really tempted to buy the cable car Blush

Right must go, school xmas fair this afternoon. Not sure why the teachers are walking the children down to be collected as usual & then everyone walking back up to the school again for the fair Confused

OP posts:
sfxmum · 02/12/2010 14:59

I feel sore virtuous now

our school fair is next week from 5 so plenty of time from break up

shopping day in Kingston tomorrow next couple of weeks are too packed for anything other than last minute dashes and I want to keep up the fitness thing

dustythedolphin · 02/12/2010 17:08

Well done SFX!!

Tilly Shock at communal loos! Very "Angela's Ashes" - was it over here? Grin

tillyfernackerpants · 02/12/2010 17:11

And £8 later Hmm, for some reason ds1 wanted to win a teddy, the women running the stall eventually took pity & fixed it for him to win Grin

OP posts:
tillyfernackerpants · 02/12/2010 17:11

Dusty, no it was up in Yorkshire, so very similar Grin

OP posts:
UptoapointLordCopper · 02/12/2010 19:49

No school today. Hmm It seems our teachers live in the sticks and are stuck. Apparently one year one of them got home after midnight on one of these snowy days. Shock Luckily nice friend/childminder took the kids for the day since I had to get to the office.

Cable car does look tempting, but I'm more tempted by those colourful arches. What are they for? So full of potential! But I should probably have learned my lesson (whatever it is) after having bought a box of 100 little planks for no good reason. Grin

We don't do school fairs. Phew!

I remember my grandparents have an outside loo in a rather wild jungly patch across the road from where they lived. Not cold there, but plenty of mosquitoes and creepy crawlies....

Have a taste for shopping now after Sunday's outing. Want to shop shop shop. Want fleecy. Recommendations?

vbus · 02/12/2010 21:28

Tilly - hope Ds1 is enjoying winning his teddy! We have our school fair on Sat but might just send the troops out

Copper - North Face usually have good fleeces

am annoyed, bought box of 10 Christmas cards few wks ago and just opened them tonight to find only 7 in the box Shock bah humbug

Too tired off to bed now
