It is freezing, brrr. Film was excellent, very witty, then nice to have and chat afterwards.

Been to visit my parents who are now back after extensive trip. DS2 was v. shy and didn't speak for 1st hr, I guess he'll have to get used to them again!

No ice on windscreen but pretty cold.

vbus - ate everything last night. Now having fresh coriander and chilli omelette with cashew nuts and rice instead. Not too bad at all.

vbus glad you enjoyed the film, was it the première or special preview? heard it was quite funny. nurse said all seems good and to just play it by ear which is why I will follow the couch to 10k instead of attempting going back to what I was doing, avoiding frustration.

hope your parents enjoyed themselves bet you glad to have them around again

I will be making some chunky minestrone later, dd eats it well pretty much the only non purée soup she will eat

have I mentioned how glad I am it is the end of the week?

I have

• taken kids to library and back
• baked two loaves of bread
• baked a chocolate cake
• cooked a Madhur Jaffrey chicken curry which thankfully the kids ate
• made kulfi
• put down several mutinies

Do I deserve a medal yet? Going out tonight with friends for a curry later, if I can stay awake...

have you seen the chat from last night? it was very good very straightforward and informative but still there were the conspiracy theorists

on another more worrying note a friendly acquaintance of mine just went into labour at 25wks this had been going on for a week she has been in hospital with repeated scares but this is it she went into the delivery room about 3hrs ago, I really feel for her just waiting to hear

Just had our big curry lunch - spinach and lamb, chicken in tomato and yogurt, dal, and naan bread. And kulfi is nice.

vbus - have you tried this naan? It's easy to make, but a bit too tasty. I prefer my naan bread quite bland. But texture is nice.

sfx - hope friend and baby are OK.

friend keeps being wheeling back and forth to delivery room, she is now actually 26+5 everyday counts, amidst worries that there are NICU beds at her hospital atm the situation keeps changing practically hourly I really feel for her and her family

I've made that tamarind cake before. It's very very nice. Not as tamarind-ish as you might think. It's lovely.

SFX I fhifted my lard arse outside for a brisk walk this morning - the first in about 6 months

dusty think it is the weather it gets so uninviting the motivation so harder to achieve, the need to comfort food so great

last year I remember running in heavy rain and some snow, but not so much this year, maybe because I have been in a sort of holding pattern with no proper goals

Plumber in the house - leaking water pipes in the loft. Not something you want to deal with on a Sunday morning.

All done! Sent plumber off with a slice of chocolate cake.

friends baby was born last night at 27wks only just, they fortunately had a NICU bed there so that was a relief, he cried when he was born, the family are exhausted and happy and worried as you'd imagine, spare a thought for them

dd off riding bless her must try and do something nice with her this afternoon

Hope friend's baby will do well.

Now off to get haircut and lunch and hoick a ton of library books to return and pay late fines.
