Geneva Meet-Up Thread. Anyone for wine and chocolate by the lake?

MmeLindt · 09/06/2009 13:25

Thought that we could use a seperate thread to save us hijacking TML's thread with our Geneva chat.

Who is interested?

Assuming some of us still have young kids, we could meet during the day for glass of wine coffee somewhere child friendly, or a picnic? Botanical Gardens? Parc de Eaux Vives? Or nearer Nyon area. Depends where you all are.

Or do you want to get out sans enfants in the evenings?

I am easy on which day. My parents leave next Tuesday so after that is ok, except Wednesday morni g as we are going pony riding

Strudel,

You are welcome to come out to our place or go to the beach with us anytime.

strudelface · 21/07/2009 16:51

Thanks ML - did you want to still meet on Friday afternoon then?

MmeLindt · 21/07/2009 18:03

If you want to. Do you feel like coming out here to the Plage?

OP posts:
strudelface · 22/07/2009 08:24

Yes that'd be good - as it's a bit of a trek will probably aim to arrive at 1-ish and bring a picnic lunch with us. Join us when you are ready. I'll have my handy with me in case you don't recognise me again in beach attire you can't spot us!

strudelface · 22/07/2009 08:25

Duh why didn't my striking out work?

MmeLindt · 22/07/2009 08:55

Ok, will meet you there. I had a beach day planned but it is cloudy now so will have to MN all day have a rethink.

I think you need to put the -- before and after each word to strike out a whole sentence.

OP posts:
strudelface · 22/07/2009 09:18

Yes cloudy and rainy over this side too - was going to mow lawn (not too sad I can't do that) and then beach this afternoon. So will tackle ironing MN instead!

See you Friday.

MmeLindt · 22/07/2009 09:42

Our water has just gone off. According to SIG it is going to be off until lunchtime so I think we will head down to the beach today. At least I can get a cuppa there, my mum forgot to fill the kettle so we have no water for tea. Panic!

so sorry, guys! I haven't been on MN for weeks. I think ds had swine flu (I was convinced he had meningitis) & haven't stopped for breath since.

tbh, I'm struggling. summertime is difficult - everyone seems to able or inclined to "go on holiday" (which seems silly when CH's at its best in the summer but maybe that's sour grapes!) so no neighbors around. Dc with my mum today but next week looms large...

MmeLindt · 26/07/2009 14:22

Cariboo
Oh, poor you and poor DS. Is he better now?

I know what you mean, a lot of people are away at the moment.

Strudelface and I had a mini MN-meet at the Plage here. Was lovely (except the incident with DS and his friend. He has informed me that D is no longer his friend and that he is not going to play with him anymore. I can see him carrying out that threat).

cariboo
You o.k ?

cariboo · 27/07/2009 23:30

Yes, we're all coping, thanks! Supposed to be going to UK in Aug but now family & some nervous mummy friends beg us not to! What next?

Niftyblue · 28/07/2009 07:23

Cariboo

If you need anything let me know

Hope Ds feels better soon

cariboo · 28/07/2009 16:16

lol! my ds & dd are ALWAYS falling out with their friends. "I'm never playing with X again!!!" Next day it's as if nothing had happened.

MmeLindt · 05/08/2009 06:11

I am resurrecting this thread in the hope that someone might feel up to coffee in a park somewhere.

Cariboo
How are you doing?

OP posts:
cariboo · 05/08/2009 11:12

oh, I'm okay thx MmeLindt (can't help picturing Lindor choccy balls every time I see your name -mmmmm!) DC are spending one more week at Village Camps, I'm lolling around the garden - having recently purchased a hammock - and being terribly lazy!

Niftyblue · 01/09/2009 09:40

Now that the kids are back at school

What about coffee ...........anyone????
Wine would be better

strudelface · 01/09/2009 10:32

I was just thinking about this thread this morning and thinking mmeLindt must think I am ignoring her - but I don't know where the last few weeks disappeared to.

My kids go back tomorrow hurrah which I am very sad about.

I can do coffee/lunch/wine....

Niftyblue · 01/09/2009 10:36

After 10 weeks of school holidays
this is the first day I have had to myself
I have a list of things to do

MN

I can do lunch depending what time it is

MmeLindt · 01/09/2009 16:49

I am also delighted sad that the DC are back to school.

I can do lunch/wine/coffee or all three

OP posts:
Niftyblue · 01/09/2009 20:09

I can do anytime
If its a night I need a few days notice to get DH to drag his arse body back from the office early

cariboo · 02/09/2009 20:44

dd started school on Mon, ds this morning (but school is only doing half days this week for some obscure reason!) & dh goes back to work on the 14th. Am absolutely panting to have the house to myself again! FREEEEEEDOM!!!!

MmeLindt · 03/09/2009 07:30

The school hols are soooooooooo loooooooooooooooooong here. I was going mad by the end of them. And that was with 4 weeks of Granny.

Maybe because of 4 weeks of Granny

So

Meet up

When?

Vote please, evening or daytime?

OP posts:
Niftyblue · 03/09/2009 12:33

I found Idrank alot during those school holidays
but we are getting to some sort of routine now
which isa shock to the system
when are the schools off again

I can do lunch but will have to leave about 2.45

i can do evenings to
so will fit in with the vote

strudelface · 03/09/2009 13:19

I vote for either, but can't do lunch on Wednesdays.

Evenings - I have a couple of parents' information thingys coming up but more or less free with a couple of days' notice.
