Geneva Meet-Up Thread. Anyone for wine and chocolate by the lake?

Thought that we could use a seperate thread to save us hijacking TML's thread with our Geneva chat.

Who is interested?

Assuming some of us still have young kids, we could meet during the day for glass of wine coffee somewhere child friendly, or a picnic? Botanical Gardens? Parc de Eaux Vives? Or nearer Nyon area. Depends where you all are.

Or do you want to get out sans enfants in the evenings?

I will be wearing jeans, a blue stripy top and green shoes (not crocs!)

I am so sorry for not being in better contact but we had company all weekend and I was literally run off my feet.

Their flight was not until this evening so the timing wouldn't have worked for me either.

We had a nice wee chat, Strudelface and myself (after I chased her down an escalator).

I hope we can do it again sometime, perhaps at one of the playparks/beaches so that the MNetters with little ones can come. Crocs are permitted on the beach, I hope?

No, I did not. I thought about it for a moment but the idea that it was not her and I was chasing some random woman who just happened to be wearing a coral top stopped me.

Mmelindt and myself had a very civilised lunch - which will be the last for a long time as the dds finish school for 9 and a half weeks on Friday lunchtime. So I am free for meeting at parks/beaches over the summer - anyone else?

Am still in bed with this wretched cold. dd has meanwhile recovered in record time, as kids usually do, while I'm out for the count.

I must be better by Friday as is the "Fête des Promotions". And then 9.5 weeks hols for my dc too. Argh! So yes, any parks, pools, benches, playgrounds, whatever... bring 'em on!

dc are at Village Camps for 2 weeks - peace!! - but v. happy to meet up with anyone...

Back from hols but have my parents staying so still busy. I could manage the 24th though, will send them off alone somewhere.

DC are both ill tonight, too long at the beach with Granny and both have sunstroke. Have been swithering about going to hospital with them but I think that they are ok. Am keeping a close eye on them to make sure.

Sorry to hear about your Dc - fingers crossed they'll be beter in the morning- I'm afraid I dont know about sunstroke so can't offer any practical advice.

Looking forward to hearing about your escapades as a bridesmaid.

We could always do some other day the following week if you want to spend time with your parents..

My patrents arrived yesterday and are here fir two weeks so by next Friday we will be fed up of the sight of each other. :-) Friday is good for me, just let me know where and when.

DS is off to his own bed, after telling me to measure him again to see if he's been good. After having his temperature taken (measured) he is off to sleep quite happy that it has gone down a bit.

DD is also a bit better.

Hope the mini-lindts are feeling better.

Ok so next Friday (I understand re the parents - mine come for a maximum of 5 days - 2 weeks - well I couldn't do it!)

No-one else seems to be around (or not posting anyway) - if it is just us shall I come over to your beach/playground - or did you want to get away for the afternoon?

There's the playground and cafe at Parc La Grange.

Will check back after the weekend as being hostess to my fil this weekend - he leaves on Monday.
