OR - driving or flying. Driving some people say five hours and some say eight! No idea why there is a 3 hour difference. Why would you come to Dayton with a group of strangers or indeed anyone at all???

OverRated · 13/02/2008 02:04

Thanks chocchip - it suddenly sounds like a very long way away. The strangers are singing people that I met on the weekend. There is some sort of big singing thing in Dayton. I am slightly worried that it is a bit cultish though - there was lots of handshaking and hugging. Maybe they're just friendly

Califrau, I was cleaning the stove this evening and I suddenly 'got' your new name so am feeling a little I knew I needed a [dunce] emoticon earlier.

OP posts:
OverRated · 13/02/2008 02:09

And we'd be driving. 8 hours in a car with random strangers not seeming very appealing!

OP posts:
chocchipcookie · 13/02/2008 02:39

The weather is supposed to be awful, that would put me off driving OR.

Not only have you namechanged, you've namechanged on your namechange. That's quite a lot for you, even. (Big cheesy grin beyond the lemonhead cheesy MN grin emoticon)

Awww. . . you missed me, OR? Caitlin has been spiking big fevers every other day, and I've been holding her a lot, and looking, but not typing. I'm not a mouth breather, or a one-handed typer. I had to type every day form my old job, and I'm too much of a snob to hunt and peck, I'm afraid. Plus, our cable special rate ran out, and we switched to satellite, and the guy installing it de-installed our internet, so was without internet for a day.

She doesn't have a fever today, but they come and go about every other day. However, she seems to have a low-grade fever that doesn't go away, and she doesn't even have that today, so crossed fingers. Last night was the 1st night she hasn't ended up (some nights started with) us, but she slept until 8:49 this morning, which is over an hour longer than she's ever slept before. Of course, being the 1st night I could have a good sleep, I spent the whole night going in and checking on her.

Thank you for thinking of her. Makes me smile.

OverRated · 13/02/2008 18:57

Goodness, Dooneygirl, you're having a rough time. Hope everyone is better now. A couple of weeks ago the same thing was happening with DS - high fever one day, gone the next but back again the following day. Very odd.

OP posts:
jabberwocky · 14/02/2008 01:44

Dooney, so sorry the sickness is still hanging around your house Here's hoping you get a good night's sleep. It is ironic that once they get better we have to transition into sleeping again ourselves.

Well, we finally have a date for the enrollment process at ds1's school. It is just over 2 weeks away and I have to now plan a trip to new home (8 hours drive) and coordinate friends to sit up with me all night so that he can get in. I guess it's a good thing that I've had all this practice with sleep deprivation the last 4 years

dooneygirl · 14/02/2008 03:45

Well, we had day 2 without a fever, so hopefully a good sign. Her nose is nonstop running, though, but I think that might be a good thing. She stayed in her bed all night last night again, and I slept a little better, but still got up twice to look in on her.

Jabberwocky--Is DS going to a private school?

Happy move. Have you ever noticed that you and I are the only ones actually in the U. S. that only have ourselves listed under a certain area? I don't know if that makes us very special or lonely.

OverRated · 14/02/2008 04:07

Not long now, Ali. Hope you're ok. I know you've got a lot to do.

Jabberwocky, the whole school thing sounds so stressful.

Glad your DD is a bit better, Dooneygirl.

OP posts:
alipiggie · 14/02/2008 04:14

We're special aren't we . OR doing okay slightly stressed but getting there. Only about 4 kitchen cupboards to pack now yahoooo. As for school enrollments aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Had a meeting yesterday with the Assistant Superintendent of Boulder Valley School District to ensure that ds1 and ds2 can be in the same school Total nightmare. So I sympathise Jabberwocky. Dooney sorry about your little one. I've got one with an ear infection this week so all the germs are going around arent' they.

Take care everyone. Send good vibes for Saturday please and pray the snow they've forecast for tonight (6") has melted.

jabberwocky · 14/02/2008 13:15

Happy moving, ali! Hope everything goes well.

dooney, not private, just a magnet school. It's just such a great school and there's only about 25 places. I've been stressing aobut it since we found out all the details in October. Part of me will just be glad when it's over no matter what. The good thing is, if we do get him in then ds2 automatically has a spot.

GreatGooglyMoogly · 14/02/2008 22:44

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! DS1 came home from Playschool today with a card for me and a bag full of little cards to him from each of the children in his class. He then demanded that I make him a card, so I had to make him one during his nap! 'Tis very strange over here, Valentine's Day . DH is working away but left me a very cute card (- he will have to get his when he gets back as I forgot to sneak into his suitcase!).

Can't help, I'm afraid Califrau. Am very very late. So late, that I can barely remember when my last period was and should probably see a doctor some time soon. Sorry, I'm sure none of you needed to know that.

My mooncup seemed to really help with cramps and general feeling crappy but I'm a hot water bottle and whinge about it kind of gal. Doesn't help much other than being a bit comforting.

Hope you feel better soon. I know it's miserable
