Drugs test at work this morning

LoliC90 · 30/03/2018 13:22

If you have smoked cannabis within the past week could this show up if tested.

When I was finished my nightshift this morning I was asked to go for a random drugs test where I had to provide a sample of my urine.

Worried I could lose my job now.

Pressed too soon. This won’t result in caution
Op you’re receiving some terrible advice on this thread

Camiila · 30/03/2018 15:05

You won't get a criminal record and will able to find work elsewhere if the worst happens and your contract is terminated.

you may get get a criminal record, you won't get a reference and you will have to declare you were sacked because of drug use.

I can't help thinking posters on here are enjoying sticking the boot in here

it has nothing to do with "sticking the boot in" - it is fury at the attitude that a little spliff is ok, its harmless, its normal, etc.

When are people going to wake up to the fact that it is dangerous, that it makes users totally irresponsible and means other people have to pick up their responsibilities for them

(including the possibility that we are now going to be paying the OPs benefits out of our taxes...)

It breaks up relationships and families, it destroys educational potential

AND it is grown in the UK by CHILD SLAVES which is why it is dirt cheap.

Sprinklesinmyelbow · 30/03/2018 15:06

It’s not a big deal because she won’t get a caution. Wtf would it be for?!

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 30/03/2018 15:06

What are you confused about ilost,it’s quite simple.proximity to weed smokers won’t produce result

StealthPolarBear · 30/03/2018 15:06

OK fair point bluntness

Sprinklesinmyelbow · 30/03/2018 15:07

Camilia you don’t know wtf you’re talking about

TheShaniaTwainExperience · 30/03/2018 15:07

camiila you sound like you need a toke tbh. Get off your high horse.

Camiila · 30/03/2018 15:07

I'm confused about the passive smoking. That could stand up as an explanation. If someone is blowing it in your face for example

no, it does not stand up as an explanation, because you won't get a positive test from that.

it WILL stand as a way of identifying untrustworthy liars who think they can get out of taking responsibility for their actions

Bluntness100 · 30/03/2018 15:07

Blow back and passive smoking are two very different things. Blow back someone blows the second hand smoke directly into your mouth and you inhale. Passive smoking is just being in the vicinity of smokers. Even someone accidentally exhaling on your face will not make uou high and the have it be in your system for a week. The amount you inhale would be minuscule.

LoliC90 · 30/03/2018 15:08

I have smoked it in the past I wont deny though the last time before this was well over a year ago now.

I should get ther results in around a week.

Camiila · 30/03/2018 15:09

Camilia you don’t know wtf you’re talking about

I know exactly what I am talking about.

Sorry if you don't like the truth.

But shutting your eyes to the truth will not make it go away, in fact will make you complicit in child slavery,

A lot of people can't accept that, because of what it does to their image of themselves.

But its the truth

Support the cannabis industry in the UK, and you are complicit in child slavery.

It doesn't matter how much you don't want to hear that, its the truth

Bluntness100 · 30/03/2018 15:10

Camilla there is clearly some back story here that's causing you to post as you are, as we don't know that back story it comes across as a hysterical pile of shite with many erroneous details.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 30/03/2018 15:11

Blow backs are when someone huffs smoke into you...you put a lit joint backwards into your mouth and blow un-inhaled smoke into the other person's mouth... it is not passive or second hand, it is directly ingested, a bigger hit than simply inhaling.

Someone blowing their second hand smoke in your face is not the same thing.

Ye gods but I had a wonderfully misspent youth Grin

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 30/03/2018 15:11

As I said earlier, smoking is ingesting cannabis fully into lungs and absorbed in body That’s physiologically completely different to being adjacent to someone smoking weed

Sprinklesinmyelbow · 30/03/2018 15:11

Camilla you do not understand the law. You are telling the OP they police could be called and she could get a caution. That is bullshit and completely wrong

Camiila · 30/03/2018 15:12

It’s not a big deal because she won’t get a caution

she might, it depends if she accepts a caution or chooses to go to court.

my friend works in random drug testing. Whether the police are called or not depends on the company policy

He has certainly been to court many times to testify about the results of his testing, when individuals have rather taken their chances in a trial instead of accepting a caution

LoliC90 · 30/03/2018 15:12

I know whatever happens now it will be the last time I touch it.

This has given me a big wake up call and should never have put myself into this position.

OP posts:
ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 30/03/2018 15:13

How is this helping Camilla? OP won't have a criminal record.

I'm not sure why you're having such an angry knee jerk reaction to smoking a joint.
Not sure where you're getting the CHILD SLAVES in the UK idea, plenty of grows in the UK aren't maintained by children. It's a fair point though and one of the reasons it should be legalised in my opinion.

LoliC90 · 30/03/2018 15:14

Also if the worse case scenario happened and I lose my job, and the police were called I know I would need to accept a caution.

OP posts:
Sprinklesinmyelbow · 30/03/2018 15:14

WHAT WOULD SHE BE CAUTIONED FOR?!?

You do realise smoking a spliff a week ago isn’t a crime anymore? FFS

CuriousaboutSamphire · 30/03/2018 15:14

That's a good decision to have made, Loli

I will wish you good luck, if you have been honest here and it was a one off, then you deserve to catch a break - once.

Notwellbitch · 30/03/2018 15:15

no, they won't care, just issue a swift caution and move on... its nothing to them, its a criminal record for drugs for the OP

No. It's not illegal to have traces of drugs in your system fgs. Stop being ridiculous.

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 30/03/2018 15:15

Camilla is correct there are unfortunately children and vulnerable adults compelled to work in cannabis factories
It’s a modern slavery and safeguarding issue
Considerable coverage in press recently

Verbena37 · 30/03/2018 15:15

camilla rare but has happened in research tests, directly after inhaling large quantities of passive smoke...

Sprinklesinmyelbow · 30/03/2018 15:15

OP you can’t get a caution. You are not in possession of cannabis. Camilia is lying. Don’t listen to her
