Warrant out for me

LauraLesleyLogan · 16/01/2018 18:51

I've done something stupid and failed to show up at Jury duty which I know is so wrong though have had different things to deal with recently which I know is no excuse.

Now it appears a warrant has been issued for my arrest. I have had a phone call to say I have to go to the police station and could be locked up to appear in court.

Anyone know whats likely to happen to me. Proper bricking it.

Scary though self inflicted.

I'm NickyNacky's mum* and Paperwhites told me what she'd been up to so she's grounded for a month and isn't allowed to use her police radio or the blue flashing lights.

ijustwantfiveminutespeace · 18/01/2018 11:49

OP please update. Don't leave us all hanging!!!

HastingsLikeTheBattle · 18/01/2018 11:54

Loving the thread, though obviously hope OP is —genuine— ok.

Learning loads about the Scottish dialect, though when NickNacky explained that clype was a Scottish grass, I thought she meant like, errr, heather or something Blush

SheGotOffThePlane · 18/01/2018 12:10

Just read this thread and hope OP is ok and free.
As an aside, my eldest dc is a right clype Grin
"Mum he did that to me!" "mum he never finished his lunch" I wish he'd shut up sometimes.

MyCatWontShutUp · 18/01/2018 12:12

@Ginslinger 😂😂😂 🚓 🚨❌

skippykips · 18/01/2018 12:39

Will OP be kept in custody until Jury duty has finished. Can be days/weeks! Oh I hope OP is ok!

Nicknacky · 18/01/2018 12:50

No she won't.

FluffyWhiteTowels · 18/01/2018 13:09

Thanks everyone. I’ve learned a whole new language from this thread Grin

Hope Op ok

LG93 · 18/01/2018 19:24

Bumping the hopes op comes back to update us all. Hope she's ok Sad

LittleMe03 · 18/01/2018 20:40

Thought we would have heard something by now Sad

HarrietSpecter · 19/01/2018 00:16

Just bumping 😳

SparklySeaShell · 19/01/2018 10:05

I really hope that the OP is out by now, surely they would be...?

123getwiththewicked · 19/01/2018 16:19

Oh gosh OP are you ok?

Redglitter · 19/01/2018 17:10

I'd say it's far more likely the OP has chosen not to come back and update rather than anything more sinister

I'm still waiting for the knock on my door for my outrageously unprofessional conduct.

By the way, with paperwhite not making a reappearance either, any chance she was banned for being a numpty?

MsHomeSlice · 19/01/2018 18:46

I thockt ye'd got the jail wi the OP NickyNacky

or something like that, ken? :o

QueenoftheSilverDollar12 · 19/01/2018 18:47

@Paperwhites' mum will be round with a pointy finger shortly @Nicknacky. Take the telling and move on 😉

expatinscotland · 19/01/2018 18:48

Ach, Nicky, there's another belter of a thread in Active featuring a woman who is shocked her friend expressed the opinion that she'd like to run over her boss. Another poster suggested the OP contact the police about this. Can you just see it? 'Hello, 101, how can I help you?' 'Um, yeah, my mate said she hates her boss and would cheerfully run him over with her car.' 'I see, so it's your warped mentality that you're calling about?' [hangs up phone]

Nicknacky · 19/01/2018 18:49

expat I did post on that lol!!!

Nicknacky · 19/01/2018 18:49

I didn't offer any of my unprofessional advice!

expatinscotland · 19/01/2018 18:52

You couldn't make it up. DH's good friend is a 999 dispatcher. Truth is stranger than fiction! I was once put on hold by 911 in America. Yep. I was a passenger in a car on a feeder road to a major interstate/motorway and had just seen a multi-car crash with one car smoking and one teetering on the guard rail. But someone was probably ringing in about their infected toenail.
