Snap Tiggiwinkle I have 5 ds's too. Trying for a girl next then? How many times have I heard that one

Tiggiwinkle · 28/03/2008 22:17

Someone else with 5DSs!

I got really fed up with all the comments when I was pregnant with DS5. Some of my friends and family were so obsessed about me having a girl I actually dreaded telling them when he was born. DH and I were of course delighted as always!

gingeme · 28/03/2008 22:23

He he I know. Wehave 7 boys between us. The worst bit is when people say 'atleast you won't have to pay for any weddings!'.
Or the 5 aside football team comments

TooTicky · 28/03/2008 22:24

Goodness, this thread is busy!!

I have:
dd1 (11)
ds1 (8)
ds2 (6)
dd2 (2)

Am very much hoping to pick up tips on stopping teasing/fighting.

Pollyanna · 28/03/2008 22:25

Hello all, I don't know if I posted on this thread yet.

I have 4 children (ds age 9 , dd1 - 7, dd2 - 5 and dd3- 3) and was due with no 5 as of earlier this week (don't know what no 5 is). Like lots of you, we are drowning in sickness here - dd1 is the latest to succumb to a vomiting bug, after me and dd3 had flu for 2 weeks. I can't wait for the summer to come - we seem to have been sick for ever.

Magnolia, lucky you! I had a week on my own with dd3 recently while dh took the others on holiday. She missed them all too much to make it an enjoyable experience, but it still made a nice change from the usual chaos.

Meanwhile please send vibes for dc5 to be born soon, I am sooo large I can barely move

gingeme · 28/03/2008 22:27

How long have you got to go pollyana?

Oh dear .......... why do I get sooooo [evvy] when I hear about new babies? even though I have decided NO more

kittywise · 29/03/2008 07:50

I was walking round the Natural History museum yesterday an SOOOOO wanted to be pg again. This time last year i went there with the dc's and was pg with no.6. In my mind I started working out ways of winning over dp to the cause.
I've a feeling it won't work though!

liahgen · 29/03/2008 08:22

morning all. Was up at silly o'clock with fretful baby suffering with her cghicken pox. Think the itching is driving her mad. certainly driving me mad.
Magnolia, that sounds an interesting concept, do you take the other children? or just 1 at a time?

We are all going to Cyprus in May for a friend's wedding, am looking forward to it, only minor minor point is mil is coming with us and last year when she came with us to Italy, I didn't get to do as much as I would have liked cos she wasn't up for it. She's 67, but not terribly old, although she acts like she is. Very set in her ways, and very old fashioned outlook. Didn't think she'd be up for 2 weeks in Cyprus after last year but she jumped at it. She is a widow so maybe I'm just not being charitable enough.

Right baby is screaming her head off, bedtime me thinks. Have good day all. x

kittywise · 29/03/2008 09:21

help me out ladies would you trust this person with your children? Well, I know my dp would

wherethewildthingsare · 29/03/2008 09:49

Can I join? I have 4 - 14,12,10 and 2, am very quietly thinking about no.5...

liahgen · 29/03/2008 10:29

Kittywise....

don't know about the kids, not sure i'd trust her with my husband!!!

liahgen · 29/03/2008 10:31

My dh has pocket full of money today and is going to Bluewater this afternoon, with 10 yr techo mad ds to buy an American fridge and a big tv. He is allowed to get whatever he wants, bless him, he's very excited.

Cadmum · 29/03/2008 11:52

Kittywise: I just replied on the original thread. DH is (very tongue in cheek) sure that she is a lovely girl who is very capable...

Why would anyone send this kind of photo with a job application?

liahgen: Do I sense a compromise with the TV and Fridge? Oh how I would love a 'real' fridge again...

Hello wherethewildthingsare. I think that #5 is a brilliant idea just to keep your 2 year old company... (and that way I have another family through which I can live vicariously!)

magnolia74 · 29/03/2008 13:01

No only one at a time when abroad
My parents have a time share but it only sleeps 4.
Dh won't fly So family holidays abroad are out until we get a better car to take to france ect...

I took dd1 4 years ago, dt2 two years ago and this year dt1. Will probably take dd4 year after next and ds1 a couple of years after that.

We do family camping holidays here too

gingeme · 29/03/2008 15:46

We had sort of our first family holiday a couple of weeks ago to Haven. It was only a long weekend but the boys realy loved it.
We are going to go to Tenerife next year though. Dh and I went with his 2 boys and my 2 boys bfore 3,4 and 5 came along and it was briliant. The best thing about it was it got cool in the evening and night so we all slept well. Pus the place we stayed was lovely so well probably stay there again.
We might go to Ireland in the summer hols as I have family there and havn't met half my cousins or there children. Depends on dh's annual leave and ds4 starting reception.

tulip31 · 29/03/2008 16:05

Psychomum5 · 30/03/2008 11:37

helloooooo all......go away for the night, get very drunk, and this threads expands mahoosivly!!!.

welcome to any newbies here, labour vibes to pollyanna (am hoping tis the right one of us), and get well vibes to the poorly people here.

I am still suffering with my head, and DH has gone to work. tis probably better for me as he rather grumpy about the state I got into.......was only a few bottles of wine, but it was for flames birthday so a good cause I thought.

beach that we go to is alum chine, near b'mouth......but as I live in b'mouth we get the pick of many beaches

tis shiny outsire here, and thinking I should take 'em all out somewhere .

mind you, tis grandma's and great grandma's b/days today and we off to the BIL&SIL's house for family dinner so may just wait for that now......

at least SIL is cooking today, I have done the last few.......I wouldn't cope what with the state of the house after DH and the kiddies were left in charge!!! (see, I don;t get grumpy about that now do I....).

right, catch you all later...xx

kittywise · 30/03/2008 13:49

Ah gingeme what fantastic pics, beautiful boys and beautiful hair!!!
What a great web site.
My last is a strawberry blond. Dp and are are still trying to work out where he comes from

gingeme · 30/03/2008 20:41

Thankyou kittywise. Yes theyre of the ginger variety except ds5 who is very dark. My two older boys are blonde and dark too. They are staying with us next week so Ill try to do another montage with them in.
ds4 not very well at the moment. He has a sore throat and is off his food. Giving him Calpol and plenty to drink. He stole one of ds5's dummies yesterday. Popped straight out of his mouth and into his. He seems rather attached to it which is strange as he's never actualy had one of his own. Don't know weather to let him carry on with it or hide it so he forgets about it.

cazboldy · 31/03/2008 09:52

mine never had dummies, (except ds1 briefly) but my sisters little chap does, and ds3 nicked it the other day and put it in his mouth. He didn't know what to do with it though.....he had us in stitches!

Psychomum5 · 31/03/2008 09:59

good morning all.

rather later than I thought tho here, as neither DH nor I changed the clock ofrward in our bedroom and there was me happily thinking that I could sleep longer and gave the smaller kiddies permission to go down and watch TV........ooops!!!

ah well, at least it is the easter hols still, otherwise school would be slightly put out too.

not sure on plans today......I do have flames two over for a sleepover tonight tho so guess I ought to organise house for that, otherwise.......hmmmmm......dunno. lazy day maybe.
