Hi .New to this .I have 5 .eldest 16 ,youngest 3 .I am 34 .

Psychomum5 · 26/03/2008 18:11

Film was fantastic.

kiddies behaved well, altho DS1 was a little loud at one point as he took an easter egg, and broke into the package halfway thro. apologized at the end to the people in front, to be told not to worry as it is normally her son doing that!! Made me feel better.

now home all sleepy (cos that what films do to me, in the dark cinema), and got to cook some dinner........garrrrrhhhhhh

oh, and thirsty and feeling bloated from the popcorn

PaulaYatesBiggestFan · 26/03/2008 18:17

gosh i feel a positive GRAN on this thread!

rosylizzie · 26/03/2008 18:45

another trip to doctors today for me - been about 10 times in three weeks with one or other of them little one has horrible ear infection though currently sitting here on my knee eating easter egg - something no 1 would never have been allowed at 8 months
so that was ooh 5 hours i lasted at work today - nd i only work 2 days to 'fit in'
on the plus side house tidy for only time in the week as cleaning ladies have been and ds1 at rugby which will run off some of his energy as he is a right pain inthe arse at present!

sorkycake · 26/03/2008 18:47

Rosylizzie I had a mental image there of you shouting your kids by numbers not names, have no idea why.

"C'mere no.5"

I'm pretty sure I'd be like that actually

cazboldy · 26/03/2008 18:51

hi haven't been around much for a couple of days.

will have to catch up x

cazboldy · 26/03/2008 19:03

liahgen - we have some chickens!

and ducks, a rabbit,ponies, cows, a dog, a cat, a parakeet.....think thats it

anyway - get some pekins - very amusing little characters!

Kitty - I want one of those press thingys

ladytophamhatt · 26/03/2008 20:25

We're getting some chickens too. Wentto have a look atthe diff breeds today...my god there are billions or it seems so anyway.

nothing much to report here, I did bring up the subject of No#5 again though. Kind of just blurted it out and Dh just laughed and said "another one?...why do you want anotehr one"

So it wasn't a no, but wasn't a yes either.

reindeermum · 26/03/2008 20:33

ladytopham I'm also well up for no 5 but not quite yet as still bf no 4. Did discuss it soon after no 4 was born and also got a maybe vibe from dh. Good luck - I'm not bringing it up just yet but am biding time

liahgen · 26/03/2008 20:33

evening all. My dh announces last night that we ahve to talk about number 6.....NO NO NO, we've talked, it's agreed, I will become Mrs Beaton in order to fulfill my dream. Sorted

He's out tonight, one thing I have to agree to is not so much mn in the evenings when we are together, seems fair enough but it's bloody hard to get off isn't it?

Right my eldest, 13 is moaning, she wishes dh didn't live with us, it was better on our own..he doesn't like her, (I am quoting her by the way) we don't have any time for HER.
This tirade was interrupted by 2 yr old and hurt finger, (so proving her point!!, lol)I made her stand in the garden until she had cooled down, (bit harsh yu may say but that wasn't all of it)

Anyway, I think we do ok, but how do we give them all quality time.? I made a real fuss of her 13th b.day, hired her a limo, did bowling, got the chocolate fountain out. Even invited her evil friend that I don't like.
Dh thinks it's because her dad doesn't make any effort and so he gets the blame cos he's here for his kids, iyswim. Last time ex saw his son, My eldest ds was 23rd Dec
Advice please before she leaves home..

thank you

gingeme · 26/03/2008 21:16

Evening ladies. We went to a soft play centre this afternoon and I saw 2 very pregnant ladies one of whom came to chat and smile while I was feeding ds5. It made me feel very broody. I told dh and he laughed and said 'oh thats ashame isnt it?'

JamSamBam · 26/03/2008 22:03

hi all,

sorry i didnt reply earlier, i was attempting to get some work done!!

I wasnt being serious about being ignored! with large families im sure you are all busy. I ve wanted more kids for a while, but untill i get over the small hurdle of not actually having a man, im stuck at 2!!

As i said, Ive got 2 ds's and we live with my mum. When we all moved in together it was mum & dad, me, 2 ds's, my sister and her 2 ds's ( large household!!), then we had both grans move in too!. After a series of deaths and my sister moving to africa ( long story) its just me & mum and the two tornado's. Im supposed to be starting fostering in september with a view to adopting.

i know its not an ideal household but it does feel like a boarding school at times when i have 5 or 6 of DS's mates in the fridge and scout group stuff everywhere ( im an akela too), so now can i join??>

Spidermama · 26/03/2008 22:21

Way hey! Well done and hello everybody.

I've only just come across this because all four of mine have flu'. I mean proper, temperatures of 40, barely able to get up flu'.

You'll understand this. DS4 was first to get it on Good Friday, then I got it and DH was round for the Easter Weekend to help, today was supposed to be my first day on the mend but intensive nursing of all the others and extra laundry from sickness et al on quilts and pillows has meant I've relapsed somewhat.

DS4 (3) was the first to be properly better today but could find no playmates so turned to minor domestic crime and petty violence against those lying on the sofas.

I've only just got them all off to bed. No school for any of them tomorrow (exept perhaps ds4 but then only if my new mattress has arrived by lunchtime. I can't possibly miss the delivery I've waited ten years for after all.

So excited to have this new topic. I hope to catch up properly when I'm better.

Love and strength to you all. xx

kittywise · 26/03/2008 22:22

POor you spidermama, that's a bummer, hope they recover quickly. Although saying that I quite like it when mine are flat out, they sleep and stop fighting !!

Spidermama · 26/03/2008 22:25

I'd better not spend too much time here in case I get broody.

I've had ahem, vestibular reconstruction after ds4 so I'm not allowed to get pregnant again. I remember when she told me (the gyae) thinking 'Yes, yes she means I can't give birth vaginally again but if I really want another then there's always c-section'.
Now though I think she really meant it as pregnancy would blow apart any work done on the back wall and it may end up worse than ever. It's in a really good state at the moment all things considered.

Spidermama · 26/03/2008 22:26

Hi kitty. DS3 was hilarious. He had a temperature of 40 - no kidding - and he followed me round the house chatting all day. I honestly don't know how he managed. He was finally wiped out by 7pm.

Loshad · 26/03/2008 22:28

Can i join
Have ds1 - 14
ds2 -12
ds3 - 10
ds4 - 7
plus large menagerie, am old and feel even older.

Spidermama · 26/03/2008 22:29

Of course loshad. Hi. At least some of yours must be at the helpful age by now? (hopeful)

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 26/03/2008 22:47

No. 4 is just 8 weeks away (but it's a boy so probably 11 weeks away). But I'm joining this thread now anyway - gosh, I'm getting very clubby on MN, last week chickens, this week OWLS.

My current status is that my arse hurts a lot with terrible sciatica, mostly caused by having too many school pick-ups (12pm from pre-school, 1pm from Primary Reception and 3.15pm normal kicking-out time). Easter holidays start end of next week and I can't wait. My arse hurts a lot less when I'm not spending the entire afternoon getting me and smallest DCs in and out of the car.

(I am deliberately ignoring all the laundry talk).

Spidermama · 26/03/2008 23:02

Laundry rules my life.

Cadmum · 27/03/2008 06:27

Hello all...

Nice to have a place to meet and lurk...

kittywise · 27/03/2008 07:00

I had a new helper start this week and a I wa showing her round and trying to start the mammoth task of explaining what needed to be done and where everything went we got to the basement (where the mighty laundry machines and ironing press are) and I said
"Always keep checking down here, check the laundry basket, check the washing machine, drier and and ironing stack, keep the washing going"
I live in terror of the laundry getting out of control. I reckon I do 3 loads a day and we've got one of those 9kg capacity Bosch

sorkycake · 27/03/2008 07:02

I came down to a lovely tidy house this morning

I'm in denial about the HE room tho', isn't it a shame you can't will the housework to be done?

Kittiwise what kind of helper do you have and where did you find the poor sap her?

kittywise · 27/03/2008 07:26

sorky, I always get them on GUMTREE it's a fabbo site and free to advertise

sorkycake · 27/03/2008 08:07

Ooh that sounds interesting, do they live in with you? How much do they cost, experience, ages etc?
