I have got one good quality embryo and going to implant in September.

@FluentTealGuide goodluck for tomorrow!

Thank you!

ForPearlBird · 16/09/2025 19:53

@Peonies94 Good luck for tomorrow!

@MyAgileZebra Sorry to hear it was negative. You are still early so may still time for it to change. Will keep everything crossed for you.

MintOwl · 16/09/2025 22:11

@Peonies94 @FluentTealGuide all the best for tomorrow and welcome to all those who’ve joined recently!

sorry to hear of your past experience @SarahAndQuack and wishing you all the best for this one. I’m also in the 40s club :)

@ALittleExpressive so sorry to hear that after the long wait and all the meds. I was told that if I had reasonably regular periods it was marginally better to opt for natural modified / natural but nothing about lining specifically. Very best of luck whatever you decide

fingers crossed it turns positive for you by OTD @MyAgileZebra, likewise @Hopefull1981

@ForPearlBird thank you, my scan is next Friday (had to push back by one day) Finding this wait pretty painful as well!

SarahAndQuack · 16/09/2025 22:48

@Hopefull1981, I'm so sorry you had a rough experience with the transfer. This whole process is so brutal.

@Peonies94 - good luck for tomorrow!

@MintOwl - hi to another one in the 40s club! I read today that 1 in 20 UK mothers became mothers aged 40 and over, and that gave me hope. Good luck for your scan on Friday!

FluentTealGuide · 17/09/2025 05:32

Good luck today @Peonies94! Mine is at noon, so you get to go first!

Of course I’ve woken super early today and unable to get back to sleep! At least I went to bed at a reasonable time (9:30), but not hard as this progesterone has made me sooo sleepy. (And let’s not talk about the state of my skin! 🙈)

MyAgileZebra · 17/09/2025 05:54

Good luck today @Peonies94 and @FluentTealGuide 🤞🏼

MyAgileZebra · 17/09/2025 06:00

Thanks all, it wasn't FMU but wasn't diluted. I know there is still a chance but really not feeling positive xx

ForPearlBird · 17/09/2025 06:35

Good luck with your transfers today @FluentTealGuide @Peonies94

Gosia19 · 17/09/2025 06:44

Good luck @Peonies94and @FluentTealGuide - thinking of you!

Peonies94 · 17/09/2025 07:02

@FluentTealGuide oh gosh I hadn’t even thought about that! I’ve been so tired and thought that was the meds but I’ve also had a nasty breakout since being on the PIO and didn’t even think of it being caused by it!
Thanks! 🤞🤞🤞🤞

jenk91 · 17/09/2025 08:16

Good luck @FluentTealGuide and @Peonies94 ! Xx

StillBelieving2 · 17/09/2025 09:03

Good morning everyone! Gosh this thread is a busy one with lots going through it, which is nice but sad too!

Good luck to those transferring today!
I agree age doesn't define us, considering I was trying from a young 30 year old and had my son via IVF at 35, age didnt help me 😅
@Ephesus1010 so so sorry, its such a hard blow. Hope your getting through it day by day 💙
@MyAgileZebra just remember they say day 11 for a reason, your not out yet 🤞
@Hopefull1981 sorry to hear it wasn't smooth, can I ask what happened or if you don't want to talk about it I completely get it! Sometimes just helps to rant 😅

I had my scan on Monday and was 100% we'd have a bit of a drawn out process at our previous fresh round I just didn't respond 'normally' at any point so hadn't even entered my head....our transfer is next Tuesday 😳 Bloods on Sunday - typically first thing when we have a night away planned to see lewis capaldi Manchester, with my brother who is flying in especially 🤦‍♀️ Totally worth it but chaotic 😅

Peonies94 · 17/09/2025 11:33

@StillBelieving2 it always seems to land right on the awkward times doesn’t it!
great all went well though!

had my transfer. Was told it was a tricky one and bladder a bit too full so they struggled to see the catheter on the scan, but think it all went well other than that! Now just wait and see! Told to do a urine test on 27th but also they want to confirm it with bloods so told me to phone up that week and make appointment for bloods! Seems annoying as if negative I really don’t need bloods to confirm as I’m sure I’ll be doing lots of tests 🤦‍♀️

Peonies94 · 17/09/2025 11:56

Such a surreal experience! Seems madness that thst little blast I saw on screen is now floating around with me!

SarahAndQuack · 17/09/2025 11:57

Goodness me, that's another thing to worry about that really isn't necessary - bladder too full! Why on earth didn't they just tell you do go to the loo?

Fingers crossed the next few days pass quickly for you!

I woke up feeling absolutely shit; my daughter's school sent out an email yesterday saying most of the staff have covid and we're welcome not to send children in. DD is off sick anyway, with her other mum, but I'm going to pick her up at 3. I hope I'm better tomorrow as I've got a job on.

Peonies94 · 17/09/2025 12:55

@SarahAndQuack i have no idea! I’m not sure, just had to press and keep looking for the catheter for a little longer! Made me nervous though thst they couldn’t see whatever they needed to see! 🤦‍♀️

Peonies94 · 17/09/2025 13:02

Also does anyone have experience of a blast hatching at transfer?
it was frozen as a 4AB, but when it defrosted it had started to hatch! Not sure if this is a good or bad thing as I’ve read it can make it more delicate!

zirafica · 17/09/2025 13:07

Oh someone said that for the transfer the right way to do it is have a pee an hour before you're due with the doctors, and then have a pint of water and your bladder should be at the perfect level!

Peonies94 · 17/09/2025 13:14

So my clinic said 2 hours before so I wee’d 2 hours before and then didn’t drink until an hour before but drank a pint!
I also didn’t drink much before my wee either but I was 45 mins late going in, so don’t think that helped!
if I have to do it again I’ll definitely be holding off!

zirafica · 17/09/2025 13:29

The more I hear about how differently different clinics do things the more I think nobody has any idea what they're doing and it's all bloody pot luck 😆

Apparently that’s what they want to see? That’s what the embryologist said had started to happen to mine this time and last time too! So I hope I understood right 🙃

@zirafica I think exactly the same! Every clinic seems to do everything so differently I can’t help but feel they are winging 90% of it all

I feel this too! I find it really stressful how uncommunicative clinics seem to be, and how unforthcoming about things. Every time I ask a question I seem to get ticked off.

Thank you @StillBelieving2 and for everyone else's messages. We haven't really told many people IRL that we have gone through this process so it helps to check back on this thread and hear from people and also know that you all get it. We are ok, definitely day by day, haven't cried today so that's progress 🤣

We have a follow up appointment with our consultant on Monday. It's over the phone so feels like it could be a bit awkward as I don't really know what to say and she won't be able to tell us why it didn't work. I know it will be to talk through options but I'm pretty sure I don't want another full on IVF round. I think we might see what happens naturally for a few months and then reassess again. But I feel like I just need to give myself the time to accept we will only have our daughter, who I am so incredibly grateful for, and some of the feelings I have right now are making me feel incredibly guilty because she is definitely more than enough to completely fill my life and heart but I had just always imagined us as a family of 4 xxx

Peonies94 · 17/09/2025 14:35

@Ephesus1010 i can reasonstd so much with what your saying!! My daughter is more than enough but we absolutely always wanted to be a family of 4! We have a few embryos to transfer but wouldn’t do another full round again!

@jenk91 thsts good to know! She made it sound like a good thing but then I also saw that it makes them super delicate so sometimes less successful, so I was confused by it all!

StillBelieving2 · 17/09/2025 15:42

@Ephesus1010 totally get it, we really want to give my son a sibling, we got 2 embryos from our 1st funded round and we're so lucky and grateful we got him from our first try. Going back for the 2nd embryo just feels like we've came full circle and I dont think we would try another full round. I feel too old tonstart it all again and the cost can't be ignored!!
You're so right about the guilt, completely happy with one and aware there's others that just want whag you have - but also totally entitled to want wht you wish for too!

@Peonies94 congrats on being officially PUPO! Have you a relaxing afternoon planned?! Weird they want bloods either way, where are you based?

Also agree with everyone sometimes its like pulling teeth trying to get information!!
