August FET 2025

magpie234 · 21/07/2025 16:25

Hi everyone. Thought I would make this thread for anyone hoping to have a FET in August!

I am waiting for my period to start hopefully any day now before embarking on a natural/natural modified attempt.

I have had one failed fresh transfer and have 3 frozen embryos.

Good luck everyone!

@Bluebell155 my clinic have left me alone. I'm quite glad of the peace

I'm only 7dp5dt... the days are dragging on. I'm testing on Sunday 10dpt. No real symptoms. I feel cramps on and off and very tired. I feel like I do before my period tbh.

Hope all are OK 👍

FrostedFlake · 14/08/2025 14:09

@Bluebell155 I’m very much a number to my clinic and they barely come back to you even if you have a question around medicine etc so have definitely not heard from them and won’t be hearing from them. Which is okay as I’d be the same, it’s nice you are checking in on me but I’ve nothing to tell you other than being hormonal and all over the place 🥴

ah @FlatWhiteAnyone that would be a very expensive scan if you were to travel to Greece to get it done. But it’s great having the two sets of betas done! Do you think you can hold off until 8 weeks or would you rather have the reassurance sooner? When does the maternity hospital take over in Germany? Would it be around the 12 weeks mark?

also is anyone feeling extremely emotional? I was driving from the shop and felt like bawling for no reason whatsoever. I’m sure it’s the hormones but I hate feeling this way.

FrostedFlake · 14/08/2025 14:28

@Rosieposy89 I’m exactly 6dp5dt and I’m a little surprised it’s already been 6 days for me as the time has dragged on soo much.
Im also feeling tired. Not sure if it’s the stress and lack of sleep. Do you have anything nice planned for the next few days before you test?

Hopefull1981 · 14/08/2025 14:37

Not feeling any symptoms whatsoever. I went to the office so it would distract me but it's dead, so I am finding myself talking to chatgpt :-)

I have a full house this weekend with family staying for the oasis concerts, that should be a good distraction. My amazon tests arrived at lunch.. I see lots of testing in my future.

My clinic said ring them on the 25th. However, I am to start aspirin if I do get positive.

magpie234 · 14/08/2025 14:48

Those with faint or dark bfps what day did you get your first line? Trying to decide when to start testing… it is so hard to imagine ever seeing even the hint of a line after countless stark white bfns. My brain is like… why would it ever happen?

OP posts:
FrostedFlake · 14/08/2025 14:55

I was actually meant to ask about baby aspirin Does anyone know why you have to stop and then start on a positive test? And if it’s before the 2WW should you still be taking it I wonder?
@Hopefull1981 ugh I hate an empty office. Think I’d rather work from home than to go in and be lonely. What tests did you end up getting? I’m all out of the FRER but more are coming tomorrow. I was feeling brave the other day when I decided not to order any more but quickly backtracked on that decision 😅

FrostedFlake · 14/08/2025 15:01

@magpie234 Awh I’m sorry you are feeling this way, this whole process is so draining and emotionally taxing but I do think this is going to be the one ❤️❤️❤️
I always start at day 3 to make sure there’s no trigger and usually see a very very light line on FRER at day 4. But unfortunately we’ve had a few misscariages and a chemical pregnancy so it’s not really much of an indicator either as to how things could progress.
To be honest when we got pregnant with our son I really struggled telling people and work about it and waited until 21 weeks and post anatomy scan. And we didn’t even buy much at all until close to my due date due to all the PTSD that IVF brings with it. It can really be such a drainer and joy stealer. I’m a little envious of people who just get pregnant and don’t have to go through all this turmoil and uncertainty at every stage and are completely unaware of how hard it is for so many of us.

I ordered a mix of frer/clearblue early. Will use the strips first as they at 10miu so every sensitive and here's hope I see something.

FlatWhiteAnyone · 14/08/2025 15:17

@FrostedFlake a no no, I am not in Germany, it was a German store brand. I am in Switzerland and here all on insurance, so you go either your gynecologist and then they advise when scan or tests etc. IVF clinic said after 28.08 scan so it will he after 7w.. So will try to wait till then, not sure brave to face it.
good luck with the testing!! 🍀

magpie234 · 15/08/2025 10:44

@FrostedFlake Thanks for the encouragement. I had some cramping yesterday (1dp) but today am not really feeling anything so assume that was just from being poked about the day before 😒. Still not feeling at all hopeful tbh! I think because our best embryo was lost in thawing (a shock given how unlikely that is and it being rated 4AA) it is making it harder to believe the other two worse quality ones have a chance. Especially off the back of learning that my husband had high dna frag for this batch. This is going to be a looooooong wait.

Hi ladies,

how are you all coping with the TWW? I’m really struggling and starting to spiral a bit. I tested today 4dp5dt and BFN technically I know it’s too early but with my daughter I got my first BFP at 4dp5dt so can’t help but think it might not be our time. I didn’t think I was too attached to this cycle but the negative test made me realise I actually am way more attached than I thought. It wish this journey wasn’t so tough

magpie234 · 15/08/2025 12:22

@ForeverHopeful17 I so relate. Rationally we both know 4 days is too early to rule yourself out. But I am 2dpt and already ruling myself out before testing! This is a rough ride. Loads of solidarity right here. Keeping everything crossed for you.

OP posts:
Hopefull1981 · 15/08/2025 12:50

@ForeverHopeful17 oh I know how you feel? What time was your transfer, would you actually be 4dp5dt yet? I am the same mine were always on that date however ChatGPT would say it’s very rare.

@magpie234 totally feel the same too. I have ruled myself out at 3dp5dt.. had some brown spotting last night, very small. Old blood from transfer it seems.

Bluebell155 · 15/08/2025 13:00

Guys im the say 8dpt today and im ruling myself out as have the worst back pain in the world & i get that with my period

ForeverHopeful17 · 15/08/2025 13:55

I’m honestly so glad to know I’m not alone in my irrational thoughts but also wouldn’t want to wish this on anyone as it’s literally torture.

@Hopefull1981technically not 4dp5dt until 3.40pm but I’m trying not to cling to that. Yes ChatGPT is also telling me it’s way too early to test but it’s so hard to believe that when I got a BFP on that date in the past. ChatGPT tells me that pink or brown spotting could be implantation so I’ve got everything crossed for that that was your embryo getting nice and cozy for the next 9 months xxx

@magpie234thank you so much, I’ve also got everything crossed for you too. I can completely understand how you feel after losing your 4AA embryo during the thaw however my daughter came from a lower grade embryo so I hope that gives you some hope that you’re very much still in xxx

magpie234 · 15/08/2025 13:57

@Bluebell155 Oh no… but also I have read lots of stories of people saying back pain led to a bfp for them so I still have some hope for you. Sounds horrid either way though!

@Hopefull1981 Me too but the tiiiiiniest bit of brown so I assumed the same - irritation after transfer.

In better news my husband just got a date for his varicocele embolisation procedure and it is a lot sooner than I expected so that has cheered me up a bit after the loss of our frozen embryo. Suuuuch a loopy section of ivf rollercoaster this week!

OP posts:
Hopefull1981 · 15/08/2025 14:20

@ForeverHopeful17 i am only 3dp5dt at 11.30 so no hope for a line if at all. I wouldn’t be disheartened at all if I were you. There is loads of time.

@magpie234 my son had circumcision this morning and he walked out of the hospital. I said to my husband if it were you you would have hobbled. Is that a big procedure for your husband?

FrostedFlake · 15/08/2025 14:50

I’m sorry so many of us are going through a tough time. This whole waiting game is not for the weak. But I honestly wouldn’t be ruling myself out based on the symptoms as it’s so hard to tell what is the medication, hormones or a period coming on as they are all so similar and interchangeable.

@magpie234 is this to help with fertility? I haven’t come across variocele embolisation before other than just a quick google there, so sorry for the ignorance. How are you feeling after the transfer?

We only have good grade embryos left but what the clinic said is that if they are good enough to freeze they are good enough to make a baby and I’ve heard so many stories of lower quality embryos making it vs the really good ones. So here’s hoping for both of us 😘
@ForeverHopeful17 I do think that the time gap of testing in the am and in the afternoon (post the time of the transfer) is huge at the early stage specially as the numbers start ramping up slowly. So please don’t rule yourself out! It’s still very early as it was probably about 3.5DP transfer

is anyone else planning on testing over the next day or two?

CloudyIvy55 · 15/08/2025 14:55

Hey everyone... really feeling for those of you in the TWW. I know when I get there, I will be struggling! Makes me laugh that some of you use Chat GPT, I do the same. Weirdly it can be really reassuring, it definitely helped me keep things in perspective when I was spiralling after my egg collection results.

I had my first scan yesterday. All looking good - been told to up my medication slightly and scan again next Thursday - and I'm hoping the transfer won't be long after that 🤞 I'm doing well keeping myself distracted (lots of home projects going on) but can also feel the excitement/nerves rising!

magpie234 · 15/08/2025 15:12

@ForeverHopeful17 Thanks that is lovely to hear about your little girl and helps me keep some hope flickering :).

@Hopefull1981 That made me smile! Hope your son is OK after his procedure. No not a big one (is interventional radiology so through a small hole in his groin) but on his testicle so you know… not the dream!

@FrostedFlake Thanks for the encouragement! Good point about good enough to freeze. In a way I am glad we lost the other one too as clearly that was not despite its good looks… so would rather know earlier.

So the varicocele embolisation is to tie off a big dodgy vein in his testicle that has been found to be causing high dna fragmentation in his sperm (caused by the testicle being too hot due to dodgy blood flow). This batch of embryos was made using that sperm (hence finding it hard to be hopeful) but from 3-6 months after the procedure some excellent doctors are hopeful his sperm quality will improve a lot. To the point that natural conception may even be possible (unless there is something undiscovered up with me too obv). More likely it means we will do another egg collection but hopefully get better results. So def feeling very positive that he has that booked in soon!

@CloudyIvy55 thats great news that you are getting one step closer to the transfer! How are you feeling? Hopefully there’s a few more people waiting too, as it’s so much easier when there’s a few at around the same stage to keep each other going ❤️

magpie234 · 15/08/2025 15:17

@CloudyIvy55 Great news. Getting closer! I need to get on the ChatGPT bandwagon… such a luddite.

Hey everyone,
First ever transfer done at 12 o'clock this afternoon! I also have the joys of vaginisimus so was done under sedation, meaning I hadn't eaten in 12 hours so I was hangry AF!!
PLEASE hit me up with series or film recommendations, anything gripping enough to keep me off dr google 😩
This is the closest we've ever been to being pregnant and I can already tell I'm going to drive myself mad.
Wishing lots of luck to everyone, wherever you are on your journeys, and strength to stay away from the dreaded early test trap!

CloudyIvy55 · 15/08/2025 16:06

@Bunnymum93 how exciting!! Wishing you lots of luck!! Very late to it, but I'm currently enjoying Breaking Bad which I'm a bit obsessed with. I also love a little bit of rubbish reality TV (MAFS) is a guilty pleasure. What about a little project to keep your mind busy...I still find myself googling when watching TV but tend to find my mind is occupied when I'm busy gardening or doing some gentle home improvements.

magpie234 · 15/08/2025 16:18

@Bunnymum93 Exciting! Congrats on joining the PUPO gang. I am firmly in the trash tv camp too at these times (and I mean in any times tbh). Love is Blind UK just started… or The Summer I Turned Pretty has 3 seasons. Then definitely Mafs Australia!
