IVF April 2025

Thought I'd start a thread for anyone starting IVF/ICSI in April! This is going to be round 2 for me, I'm currently waiting for my period to start so I can book my pre-treatment appointment and typical, I'm a week late with no signs of AF! Joys of PCOS and irregular cycles!

Be nice to have some company! 💛

Are any of you taking any supplements or eating anything differently? Im so nervous for egg collection as I have low amh. Im trying to keep myself as occupied as possible.

I am trying to eat a lot of protein, cut out caffeine, taking elevit and every so often I take melatonin. I have to stop the melatonin I am on if I fall pregnant and swap to restivit. I take melatonin for sleeping but its also suppose to help with egg retrieval and fertilisation so we will see. Other then that I'm not on any supplements but if this cycle doesn't work and I don't end up with good eggs or fertilisation I will start taking other supplements.

Hey everyone!

Hope you're all doing OK <3

I had IVF/ICSI in 2022 which resulted in the birth of our daughter. We were successful on our second transfer and we are so grateful!

About to start a new round and hoping for more good news. I am 34, AMH 17, will be starting Gonal F from 3rd April and adding Fyremadel from the 8th April. Estimated collection on 14th! Also have some progesterone injections ready for before transfer and beyond.

I did every trick in the book first time around, including acupuncture and sessions with a natural fertility specialist, but this time all I am doing is taking a fertility vit...we will see! A little tip my accupuncturist shared with me was to make sure you cut out cheese before your transfer as it can alter the lining of your uterus. Probably the only bit of information I have retained from last time!

I really enjoy the comraderie on these forums and look forward to sharing this journey with you all :)

I am personally not a big cheese or dairy eater/drinker as I have a dairy intolerance but I do really limit all dairy and caffeine leading up to egg retrieval and transfer.

worldwidetravel2017 · 02/04/2025 07:47

Did you guys ice pack / numb abdomen b4 injection ?

( we didnt do that today )

MrsMc14 · 02/04/2025 11:08

@worldwidetravel2017 woohoo good luck. no i didn’t use any ice packs. My evening injections were fine but morning injections were always red and itchy. My booklet does say this is normal.

I had my trigger injection yesterday done. Really hoping we get enough good quality eggs tomorrow but trying not to over think it.

Hey everyone! Love reading everyone's updates, hope everyone is feeling okay! Regards supplements I take folic acid, vitamin D, vitamin E (i think!) and CoQ10!

@worldwidetravel2017 I used ice packs before injections and they really helped!

I had my egg collection yesterday and everything went really well, was in and out within a few hours and luckily no pain since! I've been really lucky so far, I had 20 eggs collected, 19 mature and I've just had my first update that 16 have fertilised! Fingers toes and everything else enough survive to day 5/6!

Good luck to everyone who's got their egg collections coming up!

Also to add my partner took Impryl and stopped drinking (also had a varicocele embellishment in September) and his count went from 1.2mil in Jan to 7.5mil yesterday which was good to know!
Also meant to say "Fingers toes and everything else crossed" 😅

20 eggs is great. We only got 11 from our 1 cycle. Fingers crossed for you. Keep us posted if possible 🥰

Hi all! So I had my first scan today. It’s been 7 days on stims and my left side hasn’t really done much at all but my right has 3 that are good then some quite a bit smaller and the rest are small like my left side. They won’t increase my meds as I’m on a kind package which is limited to what they can do. So yeah have said I will have egg collection on Monday and I might get 6 follicles if I’m lucky. Feeling quite disheartened as this is the worst I have done. I’m guessing it might be because I’m on gonal f and the last 3 collections I did I was on menopur. So yeah not the best news today.
Hope you guys are getting on well!

Twofromanotherkind · 03/04/2025 06:56

Just had my first fyremadel injection and it was awful. The needle wouldn’t go in so really had to push it. It was stingy but the worst bit when I pulled the needle out. Did anyone come up with a small lump and rash straight away? Dreading giving that again 😭

Alexm06 · 03/04/2025 07:12

@Twofromanotherkindyes I’ve always found this one stingy. I hate it. I’ve just done my one for the day and the stinging has commenced. It’s only for like 20 minutes a little sting here and there.
I got a little rash the first time I did it in 2021 but have been alright this time. Hopefully your next one isn’t as bad.

MrsMc14 · 03/04/2025 07:33

@Alexm06fingers crossed things progress over the next few days for you. Plenty of electrolytes.
But it only takes one embryo 🙏🏻 good luck.

That’s annoying re eggs. Still it does only take one so will keep my fingers crossed for you

worldwidetravel2017 · 03/04/2025 09:14

Hey all

Hows everyone?

Had 2nd injection today

I put ice pack on b4 - that reduced the itching after
Highly recommend

lovelivelaugh64 · 03/04/2025 11:57

Hi, I am on day 4 of stims. I find it very strange that my clinic are not seeing me on day 6 or 7. And instead want to see me on day 9 of stims.

I do have low AMH so I am extremely anxious. I am also on Gonal F. @Alexm06do you have low amh/ were you expecting this. On a positive note 6 is still a great number and it does only take 1, so stay positive. My clinic told me that I’ll be lucky to get 2-3 which made me feel horrible. But now im just taking each day as it comes and accepting that it only does take one 🤍

lovelivelaugh64 · 03/04/2025 11:59

@worldwidetravel2017I am finding gonal F quite easy. But im not lucking forward to Ganirelix. As I’ve heard it’s very stingy.
what medication are you on?
