IVF April 2025

Thought I'd start a thread for anyone starting IVF/ICSI in April! This is going to be round 2 for me, I'm currently waiting for my period to start so I can book my pre-treatment appointment and typical, I'm a week late with no signs of AF! Joys of PCOS and irregular cycles!

Be nice to have some company! 💛

Ah that's helpful to know, I've never had it before so wasn't sure how common it was. Feeling okay, a little sore but nothing too bad. Mostly just anxious about the phone call tomorrow and then all the other subsequent waiting if we have okay news tomorrow! How are you feeling?

Wondering how fast the number will decrease
And if theyll be any to pgta test - hopefully so

From blast (day 5) to results of pgt it was 20 days. But it was also over the easter 2 bank holidays so maybe would be a bit sooner in normal circumstances. Are you doing pgt?

Pgt times can vary and fluctuate
Today we were told its currently 1 - 2 weeks

May I ask why you're freezing all? Is the idea to build up frozen embryos so you can ideally go back for siblings?

Just because we're doing pgta testing so have to freeze all to get them tested. Praying for at least one normal embryo for transfer. 🙏 hope you're feeling okay too - are you going straight to fresh transfer if you get a blastocyst?

@FancyGoose hopefully it is a quick turnover time for pgt results. Some people get there results in 7 days!

Heres hoping for ok / good day 1 updates today

I'm 7dp5dt today and I have a bfp! I have not seen a positive test in three and a half years, needless to say I dropped a few tears. Actually got the first bfp yesterday morning already. I can't tell which test is darker, they are both vf (although line enough even husband saw it) on a store brand test of unknown sensitivity, but it's ok, I got a line, I don't care! OTD is a whole week away still.

This cycle started out as kind of disappointing, worst out of three, and now I have a bfp and! a frosty in the bank. I hope it's a sticky good one and wishing for good quality eggs and embryos to everyone here too, I see a lot of you have just been through an ec.

And suspected endo..

Not many made it

Day 1 and we currently have 6.

IVF

Egg coll = yesterday / day zero

Today - day 1 - embrolygist rang to say 6 left in the running - 6 fertilised

Will get day 2 / 3 / 5 phone calls

If we have any left by wkend - theyll be sent next week to pgta test - well some of their cells

Thanks everyone! @Timetotryagain I feel exactly the same I feel almost every cycle right about now. The only difference is nips are sore, but that started before transfer from progesterone I think.

@worldwidetravel2017 sorry that the drop off was larger than hoped, hopefully most/all of them can hang onto day 5. I find this time period one of the most stressful of the whole process and hate just waiting for the call.

I had good news today - 14 out of 15 of our eggs were mature and 13 have fertilised. Obviously still a long way to go and expecting a drop off by day 5 and then with pgta testing but so relieved after getting the awful phone call last cycle that told us nothing had been fertilised so celebrating it as a small win 😊 won't hear anything else until Saturday now so going to try and forget about it for a little why. Interestingly we did half artificial oocyte activation (AOA) with calcium and half without and the only one that didn't fertilise was the one used with AOA.

My update: of my 3 eggs collected, 2 have fertilised. Cried when they told me as I was braced for the worst! Next update is Thurs.

Hey everyone

sorry I’ve been so quiet. I have been in and out of hospital with moderate OHSS. The whole experience has been horrendous and is being made worse by being pregnant. I have ascities going up to my liver and my bloods have been very deranged. I am home again now but very weak and get exhausted just by having a shower. I hope you are all doing ok

@camelinastorm I thought your name sounded familiar so I looked it up and we were on an ivf thread together last may. Have you gotten your kitchen remodeled yet? :D You must be getting close to transfer now right? Wishing you all the luck!
