Thought I'd start a thread for anyone starting IVF/ICSI in April! This is going to be round 2 for me, I'm currently waiting for my period to start so I can book my pre-treatment appointment and typical, I'm a week late with no signs of AF! Joys of PCOS and irregular cycles!

Be nice to have some company! 💛

11dp3dt and still negative. There really isn't a chance now to be fair. 5th try another fail. Heartbroken!

So sorry to hear

BakinABaby · 22/04/2025 16:49

Oh I’m gutted for you @ClaireBear101 , all this sht is just so unfair :(

FancyGoose · 22/04/2025 17:04

@ClaireBear101 @wishinghard2 really sorry to hear about your BFNs. It's such a cruel journey and so unfair.

@BakinABaby great to hear you got to transfer - sending lots of good wishes for the 2ww.

I'm still on stims and going okay so far although I have been asked to add in Luveris today and tomorrow which is new for me as apparently my LH is a bit lower than they'd like. I am looking at a tentative egg collection date of Saturday.

I'm so sorry for your negative test. Please be kind to yourself. I hope you have lots of love and support around you.

Alexm06 · 23/04/2025 07:55

@ClaireBear101im sorry it hasn’t worked this time. It’s just not fair. Hope you are looking after yourself

FancyGoose · 23/04/2025 08:13

@worldwidetravel2017 I get a bit crampy at times but that's about it. Starting to feel quite bloated now though but on the whole have been feeling fine this time round.

What does everyone do for exercise during stims? The clinics always say to keep it easy and light walking etc but I'm an avid exerciser so have been running, cycling and swimming albeit keeping the paces pretty gentle. Just sick of having to pause my life and one of the things that gives me stress relief for something that hasn't worked the last 5 times!

waitingforourmiracle · 23/04/2025 09:56

Quick question, did everyone get there medication from the clinic direct? I've just had an invoice for my transfer meds and the dispensary fee is more than the medication itself! The medication is £45 and the dispensary fee is £55 so it beings the total invoice to £100 which seems crazy to me!!

FancyGoose · 23/04/2025 10:30

@waitingforourmiracle I got my main batch via the pharmacy the clinic works with and there was a dispensing fee of around £50 (can't remember exactly). However, the clinic prescribed be some additional meds yday so I got them direct from the clinic (they will only dispense when needed urgently and small quantities) and there wasn't a fee attached which was a pleasant surprise!

waitingforourmiracle · 23/04/2025 11:02

@FancyGoose I questioned it and they've said they don't keep the meds at the clinic apparently so the pharmacy change the fee, they didn't put it on my first lot of meds so wasn't expecting it, maybe they had a minimum spend for the fee! I asked if I could get a prescription and they said it would be £57 to write one out, so looks like I'm paying either way 🙄

Hey guys :) I’m back again after a few weeks break following a cancelled FET due to a cyst and high progesterone. My period came a week early, had a scan today and luckily the cyst has gone. I’ve been given estrogen patches instead of tablets as they were causing a lot of stomach problems the last cycle.

I have a phone consultation booked for later today to go over the plan, hopefully everything goes smoothly this time!

waitingforourmiracle · 23/04/2025 15:23

@OneQuirkyPanda that's great news! Hopefully your patches are better! I've just paid my invoice and I'll be using patches this time, I used tablets on my first cycle and luckily didn't have any issues so hopefully it'll be the same with patches! :)

That's great news @worldwidetravel2017 - glad you had a really good appointment!

I'm so sorry @ClaireBear101, I don't think there's anything we can say that will make it any better, but know that everyone here understands the pain you're feeling right now xoxo

I've been keeping up with you guys on here, but work and life got slightly hectic!

I've been plodding along the last few weeks - period finally came last week, so had my initial scan and ovaries and everything looked switched off, so i was able to start the oestrogen (3 times a day plus a buserilin injection every evening is making me quite grumpy!) I have another scan tomorrow to see how the lining is doing and whether I can start the progesterone (pessaries plus lubion injections, with a blood thinner injection thrown in). The nurses gave me a date for embryo transfer (1st May), but i'm taking it with a pinch of salt and not getting my hopes up - i know how things can change last minute. I have this irrational fear that they'll find a cyst or something tomorrow and the cycle will be cancelled, but i'm trying to talk myself down from that ledge; it's proving to be somewhat difficult but no part of the IVF process has been easy so should have expected this! I sound like such a negative nancy right now - buserilin can make your moods much lower, so i'm hoping it's that more than anything!

Are you pgta testing any embryos ?

Sorry - i havent been able to keep up with everyones history and ages etc

PixieJxoxo · 23/04/2025 18:01

@worldwidetravel2017 no worries - no, but I had a freeze all after EC in January due to OHSS risk. it's just been a super long process to get to the FET protocol as I have long cycles and there were delays in consultation appointments and such (we're NHS funded). I'd have liked to do PGT-A (as I'm 35 and my partner is 38, so well aware that there's a higher chance of aneuploid) and would have paid out of pocket for it, but we weren't given the option.

Will you be PGT-A testing?

Hopesforamiracle · 23/04/2025 18:04

Just thought I’d update. Bit of a shocking cycle. 17 eggs, 10 fertilised. 2 blast (1 so poor they discarded) the other fresh transfer today…. Then one for the day 4s made a run for it and started to turn into an early blast so they have managed to freeze it. I’m heartbroken tbh as with PCOS I was led to believe I would have nice numbers and plenty to freeze! Jokes on me!

Frozen transfers have a good success rate though

Hopesforamiracle · 23/04/2025 19:23

@worldwidetravel2017 Yehhh we don’t know the grade in it as it was a late bloomer but we have an option at least I suppose. It looks like my egg quality is a bit poor… been a bit of a shocking day from starting at 27 follicles but we move and pray!

@PixieJxoxo I started estrogen yesterday and next week will start on the progesterone pessaries and injections along with the blood thinners, I'm due my transfer 8/9th may feels like I've waited ages for my cycle to start and now I'm on it it seems so close
