Thought I'd start a thread for anyone starting IVF/ICSI in April! This is going to be round 2 for me, I'm currently waiting for my period to start so I can book my pre-treatment appointment and typical, I'm a week late with no signs of AF! Joys of PCOS and irregular cycles!

Be nice to have some company! 💛

@Hopeloveandkindnessthis is my first transfer with my new partner. I had 6 transfers with a previous partner years ago. It’s soo strange how each clinic give different test dates. I was sooo tempted this morning but managed to hold off. We will see how tomorrow morning goes haha

Ahhh well wishing you good luck for the positive test… Yes it’s strange mine gave 9 days and hoping I can hold off 😅

waitingforourmiracle · 16/04/2025 12:56

@Twofromanotherkind yes it showed my positive, squinter but could defo see it! Ended up having a MMC though unfortunately. Great to hear you also got some frosties!

@FancyGoose good luck! We also had a freeze all so transfer will be after our holiday, should be June depending if my cycle plays ball!

@wishinghard2 4AB is a great embryo! Hopefully both stick around!

@Hopeloveandkindness welcome and how exciting! Hope the wait to test isn't too bad!

@lovelivelaugh64 I'm so sorry to read this, we're all here for you! Sending lots of love, well done for getting this far the who process is so unfair. Look after yourself and try enjoy the break from the meds. We used Impryl for my partner, pricey but I think is defo worth it, I added COQ-10 for egg quality. Also, may sound crazy because some people find it strange but yesterday I spoke to ChatGPT about embryos and found it really interesting, most I've already read myself but can get a lot of information from it

@Alexm06 eee exciting, keep us posted, fingers crossed

Hope everyone is okay ❤

Hi ladies, hope you're all doing well. I posted on this thread a little while back but have had some time off looking at it as have been really struggling. I was booked in to have my transfer on the 22nd, went in for my scan on Monday (14th) CD 13 and my lining was only 6.5mm. So they have doubled my oestrogen dose and I have another scan tomorrow to see if it has grown enough. I'm so so scared, I mentally am just finding this so tough now, there is always more waiting and everywhere I turn someone falls pregnant at the drop of a hat. I KNOW life is not fair but god this feels so bloody unfair sometimes. I have read mixed reviews about lining being at this thickness at this point in the cycle so will see what they say tomorrow, I'm just dreading them cancelling the cycle. Hope you are all doing well in your tww's or stimming X

Hopefully doubling the medication helps for you scan got fingers crossed for you and your transfer!!

Do they wait for you to have a period when doing a FET then scan etc to see if your lining is thickening up?? Sorry for question I’m just not aware how FET work Xx

Familyfirst12 · 16/04/2025 15:51

@Hopeloveandkindness thank you, just really hoping there has been some improvement and we can go ahead... although transferring at the bottom end of the 'acceptable' limit of lining doesn't feel great either.. just got to wait to see what they say tomorrow I suppose.
Yes, so I had quite a lot of eggs and was at risk of OHSS after my retrieval so had a freeze all. I then had a 'period' about a week after retrieval which apparently is more of a withdrawal bleed. Then had to wait for the following period to start the oestrogen - they then scan you between day 11-13 to check how things are going and give you a date for starting the progesterone and having the transfer. X

waitingforourmiracle · 16/04/2025 16:03

@Familyfirst12 it's so unfair! Sorry your feeling like this, we're all here for you and you're doing great! Doubling the medication should hopefully help your lining! I've also heard pomegranate juice is good for lining, also maybe try Vitamin E that's meant to be good for the lining, maybe try getting some of that? Keep us updated tomorrow x

Ahhh that must be so frustrating the wait but you’re nearly there sending all the positive vibes!! It’s feels like everything takes so long in IVF world! X

camelinastorm · 16/04/2025 18:32

@Familyfirst12 I totally feel for you I also had to take time out after my last failed round, it's just so touch as yes same as you everyone seems to be dropping pregnant all the time, even someone with 8 kids all under social services announced she is expecting again with no partner 🙄

To get my lining up I drank a mixture of pomegranate, beetroot and blueberry juice it really seemed to help and was quite nice tbh

FancyGoose · 16/04/2025 18:40

@lovelivelaugh64 so sorry to hear the update on your cycle, it's so heartbreaking to go through all of that and feel like you leave with nothing to show for it. Good idea to take a bit of time to regroup after; whenever I have taken a little break it has really helped my mental health which has suffered so much through IVF. In terms of supplements, I second Impryl for the other half. One clinic did advise us to alternate with proxeed but my bf prefers tablets to sachets so we've just stuck with that. I take ovum which has most of the supplements recommended in it starts with the egg, and I also add some high strength omega 3 for me and bf. In the past I've gone a bit crazy taking up to 15 different supplements a day but I think I was just driving myself a bit crazy obsessing so I've stripped it back. I did also take a microbiome geared towards vaginal health for a bit which I might do again ahead of a FET if we get that far but we will see. In addition, a urologist and an old clinic both suggested symprove for my bf.

Familyfirst12 · 17/04/2025 07:43

@camelinastorm @waitingforourmiracle @Hopeloveandkindness thank you for your kind words. My DH said yesterday he thought I should try and join some kind of IVF community to try to stop me feeling so low and alone…. I said what are you on about I’ve got the ladies on mumsnet😂
I’ll let you know how it goes today, currently drinking my disgusting smoothie of everything google says increases your lining. X

waitingforourmiracle · 17/04/2025 11:06

@Hopeloveandkindness gosh I second this, IVF world a day feels like a week!

@FancyGoose my boyfriend was the same, it was hard work trying to get him to take proxeed, he only took it in the evening if I made it him even though it should of been twice a day, Impryl was much easier! Think he was trying to get my parenting practice in early by feeding it him daily 😂

@Familyfirst12 we're always here, mumsnet has been a godsend for me during the who ttc journey! Good luck today

I had my egg collection today. Out of 12 follicles they got 6 eggs. Based on numbers alone so far my worst cycle, but I was on some different supplenents this time around so I don’t wanna jump to conclusions yet, I’ll wait for tuesday. My clinic doesn’t do updates, I’ll find out on transfer day so 🤞🤞I don’t get a call before with bas news.

Definitely feeling propeelt poked this time, cannot stand up straight or move without wincing.

I had trouble buying my meds after too, they had not clicked confirm for my Medrol prescription, that I was supposed to start right away, so I had to go back to the clinic (because the phone was busy) and I just caught the doc walking by and she looked me in the eye and said she’ll go and confirm right away. But then 30min later when I checked my records it still wasnt there so I had another phone call with them and finally around noon got it confirmed and had to go out again to buy it. This was the third!! time this clinic has forgotten to confirm a prescription within a year, does not instill much faith in their level of attentiveness.

waitingforourmiracle · 17/04/2025 16:02

@BakinABaby everything crossed for your 6! Gosh that wait must be awful I know waiting for updates is hard enough! That sounds really poor by the clinic, which clinic are you using? Hoping you have a speedy recovery

@waitingforourmiracle @camelinastorm @Hopeloveandkindness It's happening!! Lining increased from 6.5ish to 8.2 in 3 days - so so relieved, transfer booked for Wednesday. Honestly can't really believe it, now just to got to get to Wednesday! x

blacksnow · 17/04/2025 16:14

@Familyfirst12
fingers crossed

worldwidetravel2017 · 17/04/2025 16:21

My head hurts

Is anyone else here on inhixa?
Or meriofert ?

camelinastorm · 17/04/2025 18:55

@Familyfirst12 this is great news !!!! Well done and roll on Wednesday 🦾🦾

FancyGoose · 17/04/2025 20:01

@familyfirst12 great news to hear the lining has caught up and you're ready for transfer! Did you do anything in particular to try and thicken it up (pom juice etc)? Best of luck for the transfer

FancyGoose · 17/04/2025 20:03

@BakinABaby hopefully it's quality over quantity this time round! That wait must be torturous though, it's bad enough even when you get a couple of updates so can only imagine how long those 5 days must feel. Rest up and drink lots of fluids. My last one was noticeably worse than my previous two egg collections and I was really sore for a few days but great excuse to lie on the sofa and make the other half do everything 🤣

Familyfirst12 · 17/04/2025 20:25

@FancyGoose they upped my oestrogen which is probably what helped although after my scan on Monday I had a smoothie of pomegranate juice, spinach, beetroot, red berries, pineapple, ginger and turmeric every morning. Absolutely disgusting but I basically just blended together everything that Google said might help😂 I will say though as much as I would love to credit myself for this, I’m sure it was probably due to upping the meds. Either way it got me there so I’m over the moon X

BakinABaby · 18/04/2025 08:57

@FancyGoose thanks! Its easter time and weather’s nice so I’m sure I’ll find someting to do. Btw, easter in my native estonian is also called “eggs’ holiday” so it is very fitting 🤣

@waitingforourmiracle I’n not in uk, my clinic is part of a public hospital (East Tallinn Central Hospital) and funded by our healthcare system.

ClaireBear101 · 18/04/2025 22:51

Been a while. Trying to catch up on everyone.
@Alexm06 how's the 2ww going?
I'm 7dp3dt and I wanna test so bad.
It was about this time i tested last time too when I got my positive. Though it was a miscarraige I'm trying to stay positive.
Anyone got symptoms.
I cried over everything Monday. Fine during the week and now exhausted and emotional again
Sending love to everyone as IVF is not easy. We're warriors my dears. X

FancyGoose · 19/04/2025 06:28

@familyfirst12 you're probably right that it was mostly the drugs but well done on the disgusting smoothie, it definitely couldn't have hurt! The things we do ay 🤣

@BakinABaby haha that is very fitting, you've participated fully in the egg holiday 🤣. Hope the wait is going fast and you get some good news in a few days!

@ClaireBear101 still on stims so nowhere near testing yet but I'm a serial early tester usually. Well done for holding out 7 days. It's such an exhausting/emotional time so I don't blame you for having a little cry - we go through a lot and it's such a clear cut win or lose at the end of it so the pressure is like nothing else. I found some YouTube meditations on ivf/tww before quite helpful if that's your thing. Wishing you all the luck for when you do test 🤞🍀
